  1. Makes me think they are dead set on a QB at 6 then. If this happens, a one year deal to solidify the line for a rookie and move on next year. That's what may be the thinking here.
  2. Per David Newton. All pro LT from Seahawks. Like or no like???
  3. Don't need a franchise QB to compete. Jake wasn't considered a top QB and he got the job done. Need a solid team with a *competent coaching staff to do the job...add a smart QB with some skills and it can take them far. *competent coaching staff needs to be next after the QB .
  4. If they can find a decent QB and keep Rhule locked in the closet, I think they have a shot. Brady I think will sh%t the bed this year and father time will catch up with him or an injury (even a relatively minor one would end it for him). The Falcons will suck just as bad as last year and last place for them. The Saints still have a good team and will compete again. 1st..Saints 2nd...Panthers ( if they can find a decent QB.) 3rd...Buc's 4th...the birds What u got?
  5. There will come a time very soon when he starts losing his abilities. Father time isn't kind and he comes on fast. I know he had a good year last season, but it can't go on forever. He is one injury away from it being over. I don't see him making it the entire season being in his forties. He is the GOAT and deserves the title. But reflexes get slower and injuries just don't heal well. Don't think he will have a stellar return and this will be is last hurrah. Not worried about playing an early forties Brady coming out of retirement.
  6. We are not going to suck next season with a decent QB. Is that Cam....who knows. Don't count on a top five or maybe even a top 10 pick.
  7. No upside to drafting a QB just to draft one. If they are not convinced that he is "the one', then don't do it. Much rather they choose a younger guy with NFL experience and some upside. There is a couple on the market who fit that bill. He doesn't have to be a barn burner, a Jake D. type can get the job done.
  8. Front office has kicked ass so far in F.A. Even with losing time waiting for knob head to decide on a team....they have been doing work. Add a few more pieces with the $$ cap and find a serviceable QB, and things looking up. If Rhule cannot win with what they gave him, then no more excuses. Better be ready to either be competitive or sell his house in N.C. cause he will be on a real short leash next season. Sh%t just got real for him. Panthers have no plans on tanking to save his fat ass.
  9. A fifth or 4th rounder(tops), next year. He has started 22 games in the NFL with pretty good numbers, he has the experience under his belt compared to a rookie who may crash and burn. Jake D. 2.0.....which wouldn't be bad at all actually.
  10. I'll start: With the nice cap space... Trade for Minshew Three quality Oline either in draft or FA Edge rusher Interior DLineman Sure up the LB position...move Chinn to LB. Get into the playoffs with better offense, QB, and defense. It is all do-able if Rhule doesn't screw the pooch. Or fug him and we do it anyways.
  11. We have a top 5 pick next year??? You have a crystal ball?
  12. I actually think we could get him for a 4th (or at most a 3rd in next year's draft). Which with his youth and and how he has played in his 22 starts, is a bargain. A no lose situation. Low salary requirements and major upside make it a no brainer.
  13. Just watched Minshew on youtube again and he throws a nice ball and is pretty mobile. We could do a lot worse. Jake wasn't a top ten QB and he got the job done. Brady was drafted in the 6th round (I am not saying he is Brady 2.0). I say the guy may be a diamond in the rough.
  14. You never know...if we can solidify the Oline and have a decent running game (CMC stays vertical and with our 230 lb FA running back), he may just win us enough games to make the playoffs. Then all bets are off once you get in...anything can happen.
  15. I'm sure he would come cheaper then the rest, had a decent TD/INT ratio completed over 60% of his passes. Good bandaid to help us out a bit. Since we now have some $$ and can finally built a decent Oline, he maybe the stop gap solution we can actually afford and better then what we have. I don't believe in trying to suck to get a better pick. You never know what tomorrow brings and laying down and giving up isn't an option.
  16. Fug him. They spent all this time on this fuggin guy who is a total flake. They missed out on some possible FA's to save cap money for him, and leaves them in a lurch. Move on and forget about it.
  17. They went through so many years of sucking and wearing bags over their heads, they can handle two years of suckage to rebuilt. You may hate them, but they have a decent front office and know how to handle cap.
  18. Have to have a spark to light. Trying to start a fire with wet firewood doesn't work to well
  19. I just read that Watson is now leaning towards the Saints as a trade. Fine with me. Panthers have done okay in FA so far, keep our young guys, add a few more quality FA's (since we have the cap space), get the best QB they like in the draft at 6, and built from there. World doesn't end If Watson doesn't come here. Down side we would have Brady and Watson to deal with 2x a year. Have to beat the best to be the best.
  20. Releasing the players they have has given us more cap space. Would it not be wiser to keep who is worth keeping and use that $$ to really built the Oline and grab the QB at #six that they like, plus add some more depth in the draft?
  21. If they trade our best young players on defense, then what? Are you all ready to give up thirty points a game? Are you all ready to rebuilt the defense again? What assists will we have left to do this?
  22. That is fuggin nuts. Just gut whatever is left of this team for one guy who doesn't want to be here. If this asshat front office pushes this deal then they are hopeless. This organization is sinking fast and trying any quick fix they can find.
