  1. Its like this owner treats his NFL team like its his fantasy football team. Got the money and wants to win really really bad. I bet they would get him knowing the nfl will not let him play this year.

When you think of 3 firsts with  Watson, those picks will most likely be at least in the teens. So not as bad as i originally thought..

I am not sure whether i want him to do it or not but i love the fact that our owner wants to win as much as us fans and prob more!  I love that about him.

  2. I thought he would be here longer! He is a once in a long time player. I guess i feel like i wasnt ready for him to leave. It just happened. I know why he left but It was cool to know he was our guy. I guess i just miss him.

  3. With all the college kickers coming out every year, you would think they could find someone that can make extra points and field goals. I guess it comes down to being able to kick under pressure.. I remember zack gonzalez in college. He was really good there.. but who knows.. cant miss extra points.. we are not good enough to not get every point..

  4. I was blown away when i heard both “guru’s” say they would have Darnold as #2 qb in this years draft behind Trevor Lawrence.. and saying that even more with the crap that went on up there.

i feel sorry for the guy. He obviously has a world of talent and to do that to him was so hard to watch. You know leaders have a responsibility to NOT do this to young guys that trust them.

i am going to go out on a limb here and say we have our franchise qb for years to come. The talent that got him selected 3 over all is still there. They just didn't develop it and they added some neg baggage, but leaders can fix that. Its like we got the second best qb in this years draft for a second round pick next year! IF we can fix what the Jets screwed up.

"The Panthers must truly believe in new QB Sam Darnold. After being tied to Mac Jones throughout the draft process, the Panthers passed on both Jones and Justin Fields to select cornerback Jaycee Horn eighth overall. The fact that the Panthers didn't pick up Darnold's fifth-year option until after the first round indicates there was a scenario in which they could have taken a quarterback, likely Trey Lance, who came off the board five spots before Carolina picked. The risk is that Darnold's contract is now guaranteed for 2022. Guaranteeing two years of big money last year to Teddy Bridgewater -- traded to Denver this week -- proved to be an unforced error by the Panthers, and they may have made a similar mistake again with Darnold."

    1. No one in their right mind linked Mac Jones with the Panthers.

    2. They didn't execute 5th year option not because they wanted a qb, but because it would have tipped their hand to potential trade partners.

Sometimes some people show their intelligence by trying to point out someone else's lack there of! Lol

Why would they excercise  the 5th year option on Darnold days before the draft? How does that benefit the Panthers or Darnold? Just have that conversation with Darnold to let him know why you are not doing it before.

AND i Mac Jones was rumored to be the third pick of the draft? Didnt hear much about him to Panthers. Especially after the Darnold deal.

  6. I tell you what...I have never been so pleasantly surprised at a draft pick as I am with Lamello. I thought he was a cocky primadona, but I assumed that since his Dad is who he is, but he is just a kid that loves basketball more than anyone else and just happens to be unbelievably talented.  I watched a youtube video about him starting for Chino Hills at 14. That and pro ball in Australia prepared him for this.

  7. My first game was first season, when they sucked but the crowd was rocking!! I graduated from college in 88 and moved to Charlotte that year. That year I went to a number of games.  The most favorite games were those with Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning.  What great luck to get them back to back drafts. We got the number 1 and number 2 draft picks in consecutive picks.  They were good, but didn't have enough to be elite. I am going to tell you, when they moved the team to New Orleans it hurt me like I lost a friend! Then the Bobcats....just couldn't watch them lose. thank God for Mitch Cup-check!

  8. I have never seen such whining and home cooking in all my life and I have 54 dang years to remember back. That one where Booker charged was a charge all day long. Then where he committed the offensive foul against Hayward and the one that gets me is when he pulled Lamello down by his head and acted like he couldn't believe they called a foul.  What about at the end of the half when LaMello shot that three pointer and whats his face pushed him and then fell backwards like he took a charge. It actually stunned LaMello and almost knocked the wind out of him...no call. AND how many cheap shot pushes did Chris Paul get away with. I never knew Chris Paul was that "sneaky". Don't want to call him dirty but he got away with plenty of forearm shivers... Heck Booker is already getting all star treatment and only been an "all star" for a few hours.  He is a heck of a player, but he complains way too much!

  9. I guess we were right about Monk needing a chance. I have no idea why they were giving the twins playing time over Monk back then, but I am so glad they gave him the chance.  He is actually improved defensively as well. He is the purest shooter on the team. Scoring 20 points in 2nd quarter the other night and didn't even start til maybe 6 min to go in the quarter.  The only time I feel like he forces the shot is that fade away jumper from the lane.  I don't think I can remember one time he has made that....BUT a three pointer off pass or off dribble I have seen them from all sides.  I love that they are getting quality playing time out of Monk. I think people get their egos in the way and maybe because Monk failed the drug test they held it against him, but he is def an offensive threat that we have needed badly in this most recent good play.  I am going to tell you this. The hornets are in 7 or 8th in the east but only a couple of games out of 4..they are playing better than they have all year. I am exciting to watch them continue to get better.  Playoffs this year would be a very welcomed surprise.

  10. The two things that surprised me about Lemello is his defense and rebounding. I always knew he could pass and dribble and score but he is a difference maker on defense and those quirky defensive plays where he just catches them off guard and steals it. I see a lot of people try to do this but he is so much more successful.

He also just ends up where the ball comes off the rim. At such a young age he is figured out so many little things about the game. I watched him away from the ball on defense the other night and he is constantly trying to find opportunities to leave his man and catch someone off guard.

If he learns how to shoot from three he will be so so good in this league. I love how he is not overly cocky but sure of himself..

  11. You know you are probably right. Its his 4th year...I keep looking at him like he is in his second season.  I think he has loads of talent, but I do I think his basketball IQ coming in was very low. He just didn't seem to understand the basics of defense like "Ball-You-Man" or how to use his peripheral vision to keep up with both. I guess he was so good on offense no coach ever spent time with him there. He has the athletic ability to play defense. I think he just didn't have the love of basketball and improving  and now the off court stuff may have been too much. I see him helping Melo a lot as he comes off the court so maybe he has learned but I hate to see a first round loto pick just go to waste.

  12. I hate that they aren't giving Monk a chance. I am not at practice or know inside the locker room so maybe its something with attitude. Has anyone heard of a reason?  Maybe it is just the fact that he hasn't showed that basketball is important to him.  I would love to see him and Ball playing together.  Just think of the alley oops.  Last time I saw Monk play it was almost like he was "scared" to score and more wanting to set up others, but Monk has the game to be the one that should be thinking score first.  He has so much talent. I just hope we can find a way to get something out of that before we lose him.
