Probably unlike most of the huddle, I am not 100% sure Cam can lead us to a Superbowl win or become that great QB we hope and expected him to be. He has been inconsistent since coming into the league.
Yes, he has had some significant limitations (OL and OC) but OL should be much improved this year.
I would like to be able to see him with an actual OC who has produced top 10 offenses but unfortunately, I do not see Shula getting fired due to our defense keeping all the games close. I hope I am wrong on that.
So, Cam has to take that next step WITH Shula. As of right now, I am weary of investing the farm on a guy that is as inconsistent as Cam.
Although you have valid concerns, the one that should be held back is Cam's inconsistency. List any QB that could have succeed with the lack of protection that's been the OL? "ON PAPER, the line this year should be the best option in as many years, we should see a different Cam AND team this year.

When I read the name I said the same thing. Can you some announcer saying the Carolina Panthers just sent in Daniel Bit%#[emoji23] at Guard.Daniel Bit... Naa, too easy

During the Huddle podcast, Jones said our #1 need was a pass rushing DE- which really surprised me. With the obvious holes at OT, WR and S- and the way we still produced sacks without the Kracken last year- I didn't even think an edge rusher was on our radar until the later rounds. (Shoot, I didn't even think RB was that big of a need until I got persuaded by some friends)
So since I listened to the pod, whenever I do a mock I have been looking to grab a DE in the early to mid rounds. However, this is such a weak class of elite-above average DEs that it is really hard to find one when we draft.
My question of "How Thirsty is DG for a pass rush DE?" comes with the thought that maybe we got our DE last year in Kony Ealy. A player usually improves the most from his rookie-sophomore year. I really don't have 100% faith in Ealy to make a jump to a 8-10 sack season, but I just don't see us taking a DE anywhere in our first 4 picks because no one really moves the needle, IMO.
What say you?
I'm hoping that DE is the absolute last draft position consider by DG.

Jennings is not coming to Carolina. He's coming to the end and trying to get another ring before its all said and done.

This is one of the best post I've read in a while. Between the experts Raving about 40 times and fans upset because the fastest receiver on the draft board wasn't selected, I just shake my head. The team needs a receiver with intelligence, heart, and a large catch radius (all three). If he doesn't have these three skills, he's just a JAG (just another guy).

They continue to count the Panthers out, good. All they have to do is use this as "bulletin board" material and let the rest happen.

What? Who?

Coach is correct. Cam has to become more consistent at short range passes (note: he's getting better). Cam needs to continue to learn to shift and throw forward together, not shift back and throw forward. The latter produces high uncatchable balls and interceptions.

I feel KB and Brown is the future tandem here (CB is a better receiver than returner). They both did good enough as rookies to see how improve going forward.

If the Panthers go in another direction, it may be good for both sides.

I hope this shows that DG IS NOT just sitting around twiddling his thumbs letting free agents pass by the Panthers, like SO many fans think.

Oh okay thanks. I feel he could find a role here.

I guess Philly Brown didn't make the cut. I was hoping he did. He seem to have to have potential from what I read about him.

Sounds like this could be another Evertt Brown type guy that might not be here in a few seasons. I hope he gets better. But when he got drafted some people said he was undersized for his position at DE. Brown was the same way. I just got this feeling this could end up the same way with Ealy in next few years. I know it is way to early to judge. But it doesn't sound good in the long run.
Check the size of Big Money and Da Kraken, Ealy is right there with both. Camp haven't began YET. Don't label this kid as a bust already, I mean come on.

Besides being healthy, Ace Boogie has completely finished classes, which I'm sure was taxing splitting time between OTA/ Training Camp and Auburn. He will be able to get familiar with his receiving corps as well as run without pain. NFL watch out!
