Seattle is a must win game especially if Panthers want to maintain a home field advantage against them in the playoffs. Nothing less than 13-3 minimum season.

I don't know this is necessarily true, seeing as the Seachickens have an altogether much tougher division than we do.  They didn't win it last year and are likely not the favorites this year either.

Not a fan of Hunter Henry in the 1st round.  He's just eh to me.  I don't think he's the best tight end in the class and even if I did, the gap between him and the next guy isn't high enough to warrant not just waiting until the 2nd to take a tight end if we choose that route.

    Just my 2 cents though.

Not saying you're necessarily wrong, but the idea of not picking a guy because "the gap between him and the next best is not very big" is generally a flawed position to take.  It completely discounts the scouting process.  Every draft expert in the world could agree that the No.1 , No. 2, and No.3 Tight Ends in the draft have basically the same value, but our team may rank one of them as a first round grade and the others as a second or third based on OUR own scouts' evaluation.  Our scouts know specifically what we're looking for.  Fans and draft experts don't.

Basically, I just don't believe that there are ever two guys that are truly interchangeable, even if they have the same overall "talent" level.

  3. While Jonathan Stewart has been an integral part of our run game this season, I think we'll find that if defenses stop regularly stacking the box against us, the read-option elements of our run game can really take over.  I'd like to see what CAP can do as the lead back though, as I don't know how much familiarity Fozzy has with running read-option.  CAP ran plenty of it in college.

Nah, it's been like this for awhile. I think it's the ads.

It almost certainly is.  Whenever I see it hanging, it's waiting for a response from some sort of ad URL.  There are 8 ads on this page alone as I type this.  But hey, I'm not complaining.  This place is awesome and free.  I just feel for people who work at places that monitor their web traffic.  They probably have to be really careful about how much huddling they do.

I hope our past struggles against 3-4 defenses  is over. I kmow we are the better team and should come away with a win. Team just needs to stay focused and hungry. No let up.

Packers, Colts, Eagles all run 3-4 schemes.  Our offense did not struggle at all in any of those games.  Those struggles were due to a really poor offensive line.  No need to worry about that anymore.

  6. Good pictures.. as someone said a week or two ago.. put a damn "Next" button on your pages! If you don't know how, I will gladly assist!

Pretty sure that's purposefully not implemented to generate a few extra accidental page hits and ad clicks.  Considering this site is still free for those that want it to be, I don't have a problem with it.

  7. almost the whole Oline is in the positive yet we cant run the ball for poo. some of that has to fall on Stewart he seems to be slowing down in the whole.

I think only a little bit is due to Stewart.   Like 1 in 3 runs for < 2 yard gain he might be missing a small hole he could have run through.  But for the most part it's just not there.  The line is just a big jumble of bodies with no real holes opening up.  Some RBs would bounce the ball outside every time they see that, and who knows...maybe that would be more successful for us right now.  But that's not Stewart's game and I don't think it's the game our coaching staff wants from their RBs.  That style requires good run blocking WRs (we don't have those), and gives you a much higher percentage of truly negative running plays.  Those are drive killers for this offense.

  8. So....is "Camp MVP" the kiss of death for our team now?  Last year it was Frank Alexander and he missed almost all of the season (granted that was his own fault) and this year KB is gonna miss the WHOLE season.

Can we start naming opposing players as our camp MVP?

  9. And people wonder why I keep saying Rivera will never get us to a Super Bowl.

Nope, I'm just an uneducated, hater... despite cheering/rooting for him until last season.

If you're not rooting for the first head coach in the history of our franchise to win back to back division championships, then yeah.  You're a hater.

  10. I'm stupid overconfident.  I truly believe that we're gonna get Oher's best.  It's amazing how little slack this guy has gotten when compared to other similar players.  He's had 2 bad seasons in a row, and one of them he was battling injuries and playing for the fuging Titans.  But even if Oher sucks, he'd have to hit a new career low in performance level to match the suckage we had at LT last year.  So I'm confident we've improved at our weakest position, either a little or a LOT.

Everywhere else on the roster was not a problem for me going in to this offseason, except maybe needing a decent body at CB and improved ST.  The staff saw it the same way.  We filled all those holes in Free Agency, and added some serious players in the draft.  Shaq Thompson has the ability to elevate our defense to a whole new level once he adjusts to the NFL game.  Funchess gives us a clear identity on offense.  We're just gonna go over you and get the ball.  Daryl Williams gives us a potential RT of the future in case Remmer's late-year production was just a flash in a the pan.  Cameron Artis-Payne gives us Stewart insurance.

I don't see the weakness.  Are there a few positions where injuries could hurt us?  Sure.  But I never let that worry me too much in the offseason.  And sure we could use a more dominant bookend for Johnson, but I believe one of the 4 guys in the rotation will step up this year.  Probably Ealy or Alexander.

It's gonna be a good season guys.  We're gonna win the NFC South for a third year in a row and have a chance at a deep playoff run.

  11. I'm not gonna make fun of Chris because Julius nearly killed him. Literally. He had emergency surgery to remove a ruptured spleen and it ended his career. It appears the hit also scrambled his brain.

I wish I could find a copy of that game. Peppers singlehandedly beat the Bucs. One of the most dominant games by a defensive player ever.

That was an impressive one for sure, but I don't think anything compares to the game Peppers had against the Raiders in 2008.  That was the first game where we really saw the post-surgery Jake Delhomme do his best Jamarcus Russell impersonation.  I think he only completed like 6 or 7 passes and threw 4 interceptions.  But Peppers was just not gonna let us lose that game.  He manhandled that Raiders team and made them his bitch.

  12. Not possible, big cat would never let us draft someone with that many character concerns.

Ahh come on man.  Dooku was deceived and used by Sidious.  He truly thought he had a noble cause.  I don't really see it as all that much different from Cam's dad selling his services for a payday.  3:)
