Pretty spot on. The only thing that I may add is that I think Scourton is our future. I think next season with Wonnum gone he makes the leap and gets 9-10 sacks.
Yeah I'm super excited about Scourton. I'm just holding back my excitement a bit as I was also incredibly excited about Kony Ealy and that came back to bite me. Hence why I'm "nearly sold" but not "completely sold."

Early returns are great and exciting but also worth noting that Gettleman had a few drafts that looked incredible early on and wound up mostly sucking (2014 mainly). Also PFF; grain of salt, etc.
I'm completely sold on Tet being a stud, knocked a high pick out of the park like we needed to and always should.
Nearly sold on Scourton.
Not sold on Princely but he had flashes.
Not sold on Etienne as more than a 3rd stringer and special teamer, but that's not terrible for his draft position.
Big fan of Ransom and think he'll be a starter.
Cam Jackson : IDK, I see limited upside but we didn't see much of him
Evans was a nice find for draft position and he had a great rookie year for a late round rookie TE with plenty of veteran competition. Not sure about his upside though, seems like best case is a long term #2/3 TE, which isn't bad.
Jimmy Horn, personally I didn't see a damn thing from him that impressed me all year. And he got a lot of opportunities. Pulling for the kid, but not convinced he's an NFLer.
UDFA: Fitzgerald was an amazing find

Buffalo has a much worse roster than Carolina's (besides the QB, obviously). Swap BY and JA and the Panthers go 14-3 and the Bills go 4-13.
Two disgruntled AFC QB's in Burrow and Allen, but there is no way those teams let those players go. You never know, though. I'd easily give 3 first round picks for either
I think Josh Allen will eventually force his way out of Buffalo, and people will look back at this offseason as the reason why. Will take 2-3 years and I bet he goes west coast (maybe LA to replace Stafford...??) but I don't think he's gonna stay in Buffalo that much longer. Especially if they (predictably) struggle the next year or two.

I think you guys are vastly underestimating the power that McDermott had.
Terry Pegula, during his presser, said outright that Keon Coleman was NOT BEANE'S next choice. Beane gave into the coaching staff because it was a collaboration. That's what Pegula said.
Now we'll likely never know which picks were Beane's and which picks were McDermott's, but suffice it to say that there is a reason McDermott was fired. Pegula basically said that he thought they had hit a wall with all the almost-wins-turned-losses, and he thought that they needed a change.
Pegula also addressed the narrative about Beane making some type of power play. He flat out said that had Beane done that, he would've been fired on the spot.
For anyone that's interested, it was a compelling interview to watch or listen to.
dawg, not sure if you follow hockey at all but Terry Pegula is by far the worst owner in the NHL and has run the Buffalo Sabres into the ground -- 14 straight years missing the playoffs. Buffalo media has reported extensively about how Pegula has run each team (mostly hands off with the Bills since McD and Josh arrived) and their observations are that the way Pegula has handled the McDermott and Beane situation has been an absolute disaster and very reminiscent of the Sabres disfunction.
We don't really know the full story and never will but I do know that Pegula's comments in that press conference were completely asinine and came across to me as a terrible owner trying to come across like he knows what he's doing. Why in the world would you make those comments about an active player on the team, or air all this alleged behind the scenes dirty laundry in a press conference? Came across to me as a terrible owner being defensive about his stupid decisions.
There very much was a reason McDermott was fired and Beane was kept. Now, whether that reason had any basis in objective logic and reason is anyone's guess. Based on Pegula's history, I suspect his reasoning behind the decision was very flawed. This is very reminiscent of some of Tepper's clown decisions and comments from the worst moments of his time as our owner so far.

Stupid. I haven't found any more enjoyment from the 17th game, 18th is even more unnecessary.

We kicked it short of the landing zone I’m pretty sure. New kickoff rule

The AFC was such a massive joke this year. Seahawks or Rams will win the SB easily IMO

Don't underestimate how a bad hire can flip that on it's head.
IMO, this was a mutual parting of ways because he likely would have been canned otherwise.
Also, I am willing to bet his media job lasts until a good HC opportunity presents itself.
My point is they are not going to make a bad hire, in all likelihood. Evero may or may not be a serious candidate for them. Like it or not, many teams interview certain coaches to check the rooney rule box. But if he is a serious candidate and they do hire him it means there's something there we probably don't see. I HATE Evero's scheme and playcalling decisions, but that doesn't mean he couldn't be a good/great HC. They are ultimately 2 different jobs, especially if as HC he let his DC call the plays.
Maybe you're right about Tomlin but I don't get that vibe personally. I doubt they'd have fired him this year, maybe he saw writing on the wall for the following year but based on comments from Steelers ownership I think they were happy with him having them competitive every year, even with the playoff losing. I mean all Tomlin really needed to break through in the playoffs IMO was a QB. Harbaugh got fired (mutual*) because they couldn't break through again despite having a probably future HoF QB and multiple time MVP.
I think Tomlin wanted a break and a change himself. I think he'll go back to coaching in a year or 2, but isn't waiting for the right opportunity just actually wants a break and a less stressful media job for now to kinda reset. Also wonder if he was getting frustrated at how the Steelers' FO kept approaching the QB position recently.

I would love to see him go destroy the Steelers and make them look foolish for firing Mike Tomlin.
Steelers are a stable organization and I don't think any coach they choose to hire will "destroy them." Also Tomlin stepped down for a media job, didn't get fired.

Glad to have seen him wear a Panthers jersey.

Is it at the start of the season or league year(March)? I am not 100% clear reading the language.
Not sure but either way it's still pretty low risk/just delaying the decision on him a year

The 5th year option is guaranteed for injury only, so unless he gets hurt he can still be released/traded with no cap implications. Not really that much risk there. But barring a true breakout year next year, if Bryce is starting for us in his 5th year I will be extremely disappointed with this team. His limitations are just way too significant to overcome in the NFL.

If this front office signs him to a long term extension I'm fuging done with this team until Tepper and his band of morons are gone. That would absolutely sink us.

Coen doing what Canales should’ve done and calling timeouts.

Love the kid, can’t speak highly enough about him and his game, saw a breakout like this coming pretty earlier last year. Victor Cruz 2.0

How good was Coker… holy poo
Main silver lining here, kid is legit. With consistently good QB play and Tet taking defenses attention away, a healthy Coker could put up 12-1300 yards next year. Will be awfully tough to do though if Bryce is back and plays the same as he has up to this point in his career, which sadly seems very likely

Going to Jimmy fuging Horn on a 4th down with the season on the line. Ok then
-
Canales and Eviro absolutely blew this game for us. You have to fuging call timeouts when they’re moving the ball at will at the end there. We have 3 still and they are all fuging useless and meaningless. We should’ve used them on D to stop the clock in case they scored like they did and to give the D time to reset and rest vs the hurry up.

We’re cooked, can’t waste that much time on any play

As much as you all love to poo on him here, Horn not being on the field that drive killed us

38 seconds and 3 timeouts for a FG to tie

Call a timeout Dave you moron

We’re gonna have to start calling timeouts in case they score and we need a FG to tie

Yeah nobody ever really knows how much of a player ultimately being a success is scouting vs development/coaching. It's always a mix and you need both, and both need to be aligned as players you scout could fit in one coach's system but not fit in others. That's why you need coaching staff and front office to be in lock step.
