that 11.3 million is for 2025 season. Not this coming. We have 130 million in cap and by then can walk away from Hurst and Sanders so will go up even further. I'd take the gamble. If he plays good you can walk away from Djax and save another 5million if needed.

His average salary for his talent is a steal, but unless he demands a trade I don’t see why you’d trade him unless you got a haul of picks. With our lack of ammo I just can’t see how another team can’t offer a better package than us. Only realm of possibility is to get a first in a tag and trade for Burns and use that in the deal.
-
I’m not against taking a RB but I hope it’s not until the 5th round. We have too many other holes to address. Chubba is still under contract next year and Sanders’ contract makes it hard to walk away from until after next year. But have your #3 back start getting reps and learning the offense for the rebuild isn’t the worst thing.

Unless we are getting a 2nd rounder for him i think we have to see what he has in him to stay healthy. I'd love to sign Troy Hill to another 1 year deal. He looked serviceable.
-
It saves about 2 million in cap. If we draft one in the 4th/5th round I can see that happening.
-
Whew. Lions drafting these last 3 years . Must be nice. That GM deserves just as much credit as Dan Campbell. Makes me hopeful we can do the same.
-
Just please don’t hand out any stupid contracts and overpay just cause we suck. Tremble looked decent last half of season. Maybe he can continue to build. Unfortunately Hurst contract has too much dead money to cut this year but should be a no brainer next season. Keeping Brown and Luvu are the most important parts as we build out the culture. Low key need to extend Ish Smith Marsette. Our 2nd and 3rd round picks just need to be day one contributors as we build through the draft. I’m all for tag and trade for Burns Aswell. Outside of a pass rush he doesn’t bring much ,so not worth what he’s asking for.

Dumb idea. But what about grabbing this guy in like the 6th round. Christian already said he hoped to play with him one day. If we have him under contract for 4 years maybe he'll come back once his SF deal is up. Get him as a 3rd down back at the end of his career so when he eventually goes into the HOF itll be as a Panther. I know this wont happen but would be wayyy dope if it did.

6 games after this past season will seem great. I’d lock that in if I could. -
"Only one year of coordinator experience"
PappyMay replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
we just came off a coach with plenty of experience and it was the worst season we've ever had. Fitt had all those years with Legion of Boom and Seattle and he was trash too. -
How is Tepper going to f*ck it up this time?
PappyMay replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not going to pretend I know a ton about Canales. I see he did more than we ever could with Baker and got decent performance of a bad running back room. Johnson would be great but i'm almost to the point where give me Vrabels. Man do those Rivera days seem nice compared to what we have now to watch. -
I'm not totally buying in but I'll remain hopeful. Being negative 24/7 like many on this site are has to be a drain. I just hope we dont try to fix it all in one offseason. Lets shoot for 5-6 wins and to get rid of the dead money and void year contract stuff so we have money for the long term future.

Hopefully we will stop adding Void years to contracts now until we are atleast clearly a Playoff team.

NFL Playoffs Divisional Round - Games Thread
PappyMay replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
If somehow we wind up with Ben Johnson , Josh Renyolds would be a good addition in free agency. Another 2nd/3rd option type guy who would already know the offense. We aren’t about to get done with this rebuild in one year and rather not have to over pay for anyone. -
I'll go to a Stallions game or two living in Alabama, but the team isnt even going to be based in Bham which threw me off. They'll live and practice in Arlington and then come here for home games. Last year tickers were only $10. Hard to beat a few hours of live entertainment for that price.

Imagine if we used our 4th rounder in 2022 on Romeo Doubs over a linebacker who isn’t even on our roster already. Watching all these mid round picks contribute in the playoffs reminds me again how bad we’ve been at drafting lately.

Remember when we drafted Harrison Butker? We hate talent.

Tua is 3 years older, not crazy to think he can’t add 10-15lbs over the next few off seasons. I don’t think he will ever be Stroud but I’m still hoping for the best.
-
I don’t think any sane person now thinks Bryce is better than Stroud. But our team is so bad we go from a 2 win team to maybe winning 4-5 with Stroud. Which at this point I’d love to of had this year. Atleast wouldn’t be gifting the bears the first pick. I don’t hate Bryce. I hate Fitts My hope is Bryce can atleast be as good as Tua.

If Hayden Hurst retires from concussions I wonder what salary cap implications that has. Schultz made 6.5this year. I wonder if we bump him up to 9mil a year he’d come here.

NFC South 2024 Offseason Financials [Spotrac]
PappyMay replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree with everything you said. May have to sign 1-2 free agents but lets get rid of most our dead money and get ready for the future. I just hope to win 5 games next year. Also really want our 2nd and 3rd rounder to be day 1 starters. Need to save money so in 2025 we can make a few sizable offers for that bounce back year! -
Give me either one of these in the 2nd round and I’m happy..
PappyMay replied to recceice's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm all on board for Worthy, Egbuka I like too but is a slot guy. If we take him I wonder if we'd try to trade Theilen for a late rounder or use them both. It's hard to know what we want on defense because we dont if it will be a 3-4 or 4-3 -
Trading down for Harrison has little to do with Moore. Having Harrison Jr and Moore would be a nightmare for defenses. They'll be gaining more assets in the trade down too. Imagine if Barkley or Henry sign a short term deal there. QB and RB both can gut you in the run game and 2 wideouts that go for 1,000yards. Moore is under contract for 2 more years and fully in their plans. It makes me sick to see how little his cap hit will continue to be as the price for wideouts continues to go up.
