Yeah, that was my least favorite Panthers' tidbit to read today.

In reality I'd assume Remmers would first get a crack at LT, with D. Williams taking over for Remmers at RT.

Agreed. There is no way Foucault is better than Remmers, even if Remmers is moved to the left side. Who knows though, maybe Foucault has made strides. Let's hope Oher stays healthy and its a moot point.

As I sat this morning sipping my delicious Dunkin Donuts coffee, the best coffee on earth, I noticed many on the Huddle were upset over the corners drafted.

You know, the ones that were not mock draft projected until later rounds. My answer is simply... who cares?

Dave Gettleman, the best talent evaluator in the NFL, pinpoints with laser sharp accuracy the players he wants the most, and he goes out and gets them. As long as Gettleman gets the players he covets the most, I honestly have no interest in what rounds they came in, and neither should you.

Earlier this week, the least talented position on the entire roster was corner back. Last year, the Panthers literally went out and picked up guys off of their couches and still made it to the Superbowl.

So guess what, Gettleman went out and got the three best corners. No, not the three best on walterfootballdotcom or other draftnik websites. The three best corners for the PANTHERS SYSTEMIn this year's NFL draft you had 3 elite corners, all taken by pick 11. All of the rest are as much a roll of the dice as the next.

Unless, of course, you have a proven system in place and the talented coaching staff to implement it. Then you target specific physical characteristics and abilities and mold them in to what you want.

Which is EXACTLY what the Panthers just did. Do not take that for granted, not all teams have that ability. The Panthers went out and found two large zone corners and a ball hawking nickel. Job done.

In short, if you are upset that the players Gettleman drafted were not rated higher on silly draft websites, take issue with those websites. Do not take issue with the guy that is the gold standard for NFL talent evaluation... Dave Gettleman.

I agree 100% about the corners and the coffee. Add in that we stole Jeremy Cash, our secondary will be set for years to come with Boston, Marlowe, Cash, Jones, Bene, Bradberry, Sanchez, and Worley. These guys behind our front 7? Heck yeah!

Panthers trade AJ Klein to the Jags for their 2nd (38) and 6th (181) round picks. Then grab Ogbah at 38 (screwing the Bucs in the process!). We then trade picks 62 and 168 to the cheifs for pick 59 allowing us to snatch up Derrick Henry, thus screwing the Cheatriots!

G-money becomes the first GM to be carried out of a draft on the shoulders of the fans!

Mayo turns out to be even better than AJ.

Not sure if you are being serious or not. Why would anyone give up a 2nd and a 6th for AJ Klein?

  4. Perhaps the BEST STAT OF THE GAME which I don't think anyone's mentioned.....

If I'm right, I think we got through this with no injuries?!?!?!

I have to confess I was cursing up a blue streak when it looked like we were losing both Turner & Cotch early.  I was thrilled they came back in and played the rest of the game.  Well done.

Did you watch the game? There were a lot of guys banged up. Whether they kept playing or not does not mean they are not injured.

Edit: Not trying to get on your case man. I just feel we got even more banged up.

  5. Ah, yes...reminds me of last year when smart asses would say everyone is being stupid to panic and we would be fine with Bell and Chandler. I for one, think once again, it is very stupid for the team to ignore this position as they continue to do. And before the 'well, who was better, who could've come in/draft blah blah', how many years do you go with that story? Surley 4 years have not gone by with a better option. Oher is NOT the answer and neither is Martin and both are going to look horrible this season. Watch. In the rare event Oher turns out to be serviceable or slightly better than Bell, the worst LT in the league, we can consider ourselves luck.

At this point in baffles me we spend years trying to figure out a solution to the most important position on the offense not being QB.

You're right, he is not the answer because he will be sitting on his couch. Not sure if he will look horrible there or not. Either way, I don't plan to watch.
