  1. Chark doesn't really move the needle much for me. Packers game was really the only time he caught everything whereas he seemed to drop every other big play chance he got. Also the injury history and the fact that his statline for his Lions stint was quite similar albeit with one less start. 500 yards and 3/5 TD plus unreliable availability? Yeah, I'd rather roll with a rookie.
  2. This shouldn't even be a question. When a defensive player got so much recognition from the national media - and is a player from our often ignored team of all things - Luke should be an easy 1st ballot.
  3. Feels like a firing for the sake of blaming someone although the SF defense seemed worse overall last season compared to the year prior. Shanahan's going to run out of chances soon, especially once the cheap guys start asking for big money.

  5. Hope he does well. Obviously, his performance during our Super Bowl run is highly regarded. Just couldn’t stay healthy and had a problem with fumbling.
  6. Just saying, I'd rather have a Super Bowl problem than the problems we have right now. That said, I'll echo what others said in that there's not one singular issue one can point to. But I'll go over a few: 1. KC Defense - A lot better than people gave them credit for. All the talk about Mahomes hides the fact the KC Offense isn't the high powered machine it used to be. This unit carried them all the way to the end. 2. Injuries - Awful way for Greenlaw to leave. Deebo also got banged up although how much an impact that had is unknown. 3. Special Teams - Muffed punt was a critical mistake that completely changed the game. Less mentioned was the blocked extra point which proved relevant at the end of regulation, as KC only needed a FG instead of a TD. Not to say Mahomes couldn't get that TD at all but one never knows. 4. OT Coin Flip Decision - Did not agree with the decision to receive. If first team scores, the other team effectively gets an extra down because you’re obviously not punting; you do not want Mahomes getting that de facto extra down. And if facing Mahomes, you absolutely do not let him have the ball last in that situation.
  7. McCaffrey's first ever professional fumble was against the 49ers. Sorta feels like a full circle of sorts.
  8. Unless someone was asking him point-blank on whether he ever considered drafting Purdy, why would he bring this up in the first place? And if the question was asked, the answer comes across as deflecting blame, taking a shot at us and/or inflating his ego. Take your pick. Doesn't even matter much whether his statement has any validity because he doesn't really have the credibility to have the benefit of the doubt here.
  9. Like with draft picks, ask me in five years how to rank them. For fun, one perspective on 2019 new hires. The two arguably biggest successes from 2019 only got C grades. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2019/1/10/18175671/new-nfl-coaching-hires-grades-2019
  10. I'm not sure if there's anyone in here that has a generally positive opinion on Tepper at this point. That's a mighty feat. No talk about winning the NFC South. No talk about playoffs. Sit in a suite, say nothing and let the people you hired do their jobs without any worry you'll fire them in the near future.
  11. Tell that to David Tepper. He basically has acted much like what an average NFL fan thinks is right with disastrous consequences.
  12. Can't tell if this is simply a safe choice from Washington or banking everything on Ben Johnson and having that backfire on them, leaving them scrapping for whoever was left.
  13. He had shown he can make plays but he's a bit like a lesser Curtis Samuel. Can be good except he can't stay on the field. Expendable if we can find guys like him in the draft. Rookies much more likely to have upside or at least match his production.
  14. It would be unfair to punish someone for the rest of their lives for a prior mistake if they are learning from that experience. Obviously, putting out that mistake in the open means Canales will have to show he's earned this chance. If he hasn't learned and it blows up on our face, it will make Tepper look even more like a fool. For some people, that's not necessarily a negative.
  15. Thielen is Ricky Proehl, DJ Chark is a faster Keary Colbert and TMJ isn't even worth assigning. Only one is worth keeping and only if they are going to put in the effort and not slack off until they get the trade they want.
  16. I recall the Huddle chewed him out for his constant clapping on the sidelines. Carroll doesn't strike me as someone willing to move out of the West Coast at this point of his life. He'd probably be okay with answering any calls from Canales for advice, though.
  17. Ron (and probably every Panthers HC since then) has only one piece of advice for Calanes: https://youtu.be/pXb0zcEM-rI?si=Sx3tE_bTJB28ABlq
  18. Giving up a long 3rd down conversion sounds awfully familiar.
  19. That's an insult to Delhomme. He actually made it to a Super Bowl and almost won it.
  20. OMG the touchback rule strikes yet again!
  21. Costly fumble. This could get ugly fast.
  22. Worst start possible for the Ravens. Better respond, Lamar.
  23. Someone had brought up that wherever Campen goes, the head coach of that team gets fired. Depending on whether Tabor was let go first, that would make three in his stint here.
  24. Best way to "fix" a QB is understanding their strengths/weaknesses and finding out how to maximize their performance. In other words, if you are investing on a QB that's a round peg, don't expect much success if you are shoving them into a square hole. That's like blaming Peyton Manning for using him like Lamar Jackson and not getting more than two yards. Do have to note that trying to work on a QB's mechanics is not going to get results if they can't actually get meaningful live in-game reps because the line constantly collapses, especially if it's the interior.
