"on pace" after one game is kinda silly. Derrick Henry is on pace for over 3000 yards rushing and 17 fumbles. doesn't really matter though. Defenses are going to take Tet away and make Renfrow and XL beat them. He'll get tons of garbage time crossing routes for ten yards though. Hopefully he avoids the Bryce young hospital balls.

This isn't true. He was the backup in New Orleans the year before, and Carolina was kind of in a bidding war with Dallas for him, which is why he got to camp late.

when in the hell was bryce top ten in anything how tortured is the dataset to reach that conclusion? Surely it doesn't include the second Bucs game or the Dallas game. -

he defied Urban Meyer. Given what we now know about him is there any question where all those leaks about Cam's personality were coming from? -

Even yesterday before his final pick, absolutely no urgency, no alarm bells, not aiming for the sidelines. Just walking up to the line and taking his little check downs for five yards and murdering the clock. -

He probably couldn’t move because he’d eaten so much to get over 200 pounds. Chubby little guy was wearing a fat kid hoodie. -
Difference being weinke and Clausen were immediately replaced when it was obvious they couldn’t play. Weinke was replaced with off the couch Rodney Peete and obviously cam replaced pickles. bryce has now been benched twice in two seasons, third pending, and there are still, well were until yesterday, people who think he needs more, or the team let him down, or he’ll thrive in a new environment. Atleast weinke was a serviceable backup. Bryce can’t even be that in this league because of height reasons unless he goes to like Arizona or San Fran, and I don’t think he’s smart enough for shanahan, frankly. next contract Bryce gets after Carolina will be with college gameday.

I will add that I think, atleast Canales and Morgan, are both planning to come back after throwing Bryce under the sbortest bus they can find. Trading thielen before the season starts, regardless of what his fuging wife wanted, is not a life you make if you’re trying to win games. If you were trying to knife Bryce once and for all, how would it look any different? plus, Canales strikes me as exactly the kind of person who’s going to start leaking poo to the press about Bryce. It’s the whole evangelical thing; smile to your face, knife you in the back, especially when you’re trying to save your own skin. And don’t accuse me of anti Christian bias you know that’s 100% true

Dan Morgan had a hand in hiring Canales, a coach who famously did not have another request for interview from any other team. He’s been around in some capacity for every terrible decision this team has made over the last four years or so. He is the closest thing there is to an architect for this team. Dan has been around the league with connections in Seattle and Buffalo, and is well respected as a former player canales was brought on to fix Bryce and has failed. He has created a very soft team and his act is wearing thin. For the second year in a row this team did not look ready to play week 1. Was replaced without an issue in Tampa, and THAT coach kicked his ass yesterday. Hired when he was because tepper probably realized because of the state of the team they were gonna have to hire someone too soon and hope they nailed it. Canales really only has connections to the Pete Carroll tree and honestly probably hasn’t worked long enough to build a huge Rolodex. Part of the reason I suspect Evero is forced to stay. changed have to be made following this season. Assuming Bryce is jettisoned (he won’t tolerate being benched and will probably be cut or traded), which option is the best moving forward? 1. Keep both Canales and Morgan - are these two tied to the hip? Have you see enough in other parts of the team to trust these two drafting/developing not just a new qb, but the rest of the positions on the team? Do we just dump all the Bryce blame on Tepper and hope for the best? 2. Fire both Canales and Morgan - get a whole new team in here to reset the table. Hire a GM after the trade deadline, fire Morgan, let the new guy evaluate, then send Canales packing the second the opportunity arises. Could Tepper tolerate bringing in a serious GM who’d be able to pick his own coaches and players without his input? Perhaps even a coach who isn’t a youth pastor or a MLM dude? Has David been cucked that hard? 3. Fire Morgan, keep Canales - now we’re talking. This team is an untalented mess, and I am worried Morgan doesn’t have an eye for nfl talent. They’re small and slow at every position. XL probably needs to be put out to pasture. Someone has to pay for this. If you think Canales is a good enough coach to survive this, he just doesn’t have the pieces, then this is how you go. Canales would likely be involved in the next GM, and it’d probably be some low level guy from the Bucs. Well call this the marty hurney option. 4. keep Morgan, fire Canales - who can evaluate these players with this coaching amiright? Not Morgan’s fault Canales can’t teach XL to play. No one is gonna develop with Bryce out there at qb, and that was supposed to be Canales job. This team would get out effort’d by the 2003 panthers….if they brought those guys out of retirement today. Do you trust Dan Morgan to hire another coach and manage another draft class? We’ll call this the Marty hurney option. For me, I think the best option is number 2. Get someone new in here for the second half of the season, let them get a lay of the land and start building their vision, then hit the ground running after week 18. what I don’t want is some Chicago bears scenario where a lame duck coach gets an extra year and a chance with a high pick qb, then gets fired and a new coach comes in to fix the qb, all the while a middling GM survives because of office politics. We’ve already seen how bringing in a coach to fix damaged goods has gone; it’s bad. Whatever we do, the GM, Head coach, and maybe qb need to be on the same page. We’ve got to stop this back and forth between the front office and coaching staff and personnel in all these scenarios evero retains his job, somehow.

Where does Bryce rank as a draft bust?
electro's horse replied to MRenshaw's topic in Carolina Panthers
What are you talking about? <edit: I'm confusing him with someone else> didn't even go first overall, and if you believe Bill Polian he was never even an option. Everyone knew Jamarcus was a huge bust risk, and everyone knew if he went to Oakland is was going to be a disaster. The only reason he was taken was because Al Davis was senile. That was a terrible draft for QBs and basically everyone else in the first round is a hall of famer. I mean the only other qb taken in the first round was brady quinn Bryce has had INSANE amounts of hype since he first arrived at Alabama. Almost every single one of his games was on primetime during his college career. Unlike Leaf, he actually won the heisman, and a whole bunch of other awards. He's probably the most popular bama qb in the modern era. One of the reason so many in the media are still hanging on to the Bryce hope is how wrong all of them were about him, and he doesn't give them a convenient hand waive excuse like Leaf or Jamarcus. -

well he hadn't played in a year because jesus told him to hold out for more money. a lot of people forget that. he absolutely had a longer panthers career than Bryce will -
