He was going up against teams that had nfl talent on them. Most of the teams in the nfl have a handful of guys that are gonna make it. He didn’t go up against UGA every weekend. The SEC was VERY top heavy while he was in college. Alabama was better at almost every position, especially the skill positions, than almost every team he faced. And that’s true of wide receivers in general. There are more wr than dbs at every level of college football. It’s why things like the air raid work.

Why Bryce was a top pick is a question we’ll never get an answer too because everyone involved in that decision has every reason to lie. as far as what he did at Alabama, he’s throwing to superior physical talent with superior blocking talent. There have been multiple breakdowns of his college throws and how he was never actually that accurate, at least in a way that would translate to the nfl. this isn’t unique to him. He just snuck through the draft process for reasons that are up to anyone to guess

It’s a health thing. He’s risking a career ending injury with nothing else in front of him. Plus he’s fully vested at 3 years but 5 is when a bunch of escalators kick iirc and the fact it’s not frowned upon to sit as a backup anymore, ie darnold, technically baker etc. he’d make more money on a two year back deal than his last year in Carolina.

I’m curious to see what his trade market would look like.
