Those 2 need to be shredded. They run a lot more, taking on more contact from defenders. I’d expect them not to look like a “noodle”, although I don’t think Stroud looks like a noodle in any of the pictures I’ve seen.
beat me to it. you rarely see great NFL QBs with the body type of those 2 guys. muscle mass inhibits flexibility. Brady, Manning, Mahomes, even Lamar Jackson are much closer to Stroud's body type than Levis's body type. he looks like a DE.
Cam is the exception. he's always the exception. in any discussion you want to have or any scenario or topic, Cam is the exception.

EVERYONE on this board gets flack at one point or another. Don't treat her like some fragile woman. Jesus. She can speak up for herself.
you're smart enough to know there's a difference between flack and criticism and straight up insults, which have always received a warning or time-out on the Huddle.

Yeah DJ was the right call out of those 3.

whoever drafts Richardson should innovate a new offense where the QB lines up already outside the pocket.

Young is the best processor, but I would agree with Stroud being the best pure passer.
As far as arm strength, I've read more than one report that questions Young's deep ball, especially vs Stroud.
Stroud is the best pure passer with a clean pocket, worst pure passer (out of the top 4) under pressure.

anyone using this thread as an opportunity to insult Verge, who obviously cares about football way more than social justice, will get a time out

i was all in for Stroud and then realized i heard of either of these guys for the first time a few weeks ago and was being stupid to hitch my wagon to anyone. Frank Reich is a QB guy, i think i'll trust his judgment on whomever we end up taking. Stroud looks really good at football, Young looks really good at football, Richardson is in great shape, and Levis i'm sure has people who care about him.

that's fine if he wants to back up our rookie and keeps his mouth shut

boy if i cared at all about golf that would have been a great segment

this guy is going to be SO GOOD at watching Anthony Richardson passes hit the ground 3 yards behind him

Bryce Young is far better than Russel WIlson.

i don't understand why the team would have reason for smokescreens or lying about their interest. it's the first pick. nobody is gonna steal whoever we want.

even if the team sucks, i won't be as mad because at least they tried this offseason. i only get mad when they stay complacent and keep obvious losers around for years past their expiration date.

we signed Andy Dalton, Shy Tuttle, Vonn Bell, and Hayden Hurst. we have interest in Parris Campbell, Jamaal Williams, and Adam Thielen. the first two look more likely than the third at this point.
no leaks on the QB we want in the draft afaik.

looking at the film (what i call youtube highlights), i really like how he fights for extra yards after the catch. very physical and does not like to go down.

i'd be cool with it, i guess. i prefer Stroud but they're really 1a and 1b.
if the pick is Young and he actually does end up too small or Stroud ends up miles better in the NFL, the Panthers will justifiably be a mockery because they'd be passing on as close to a sure thing as there is.
-
he seems to be a bit of a touchdown vulture judging from his highlights. almost all of his TDs are from within the 5 and there were only a handful of big runs in the open field.

poo if we'd waited a few hours we could have had Matt Ryan. that would have been too funny.

The more I go back and watch these guys the more I think Stroud makes things look easier than they really are, while Young has a knack for making routine plays look harder than they should. And as much as I like watching Young make something happen on the scramble drill, the kid seems to default to that instead of working within the structure of the original play design.
Good way to put it.
Young reminds me a lot of Cam Newton, he did the same thing you describe in making easy plays seem harder, but he got away with it by nature of being the greatest human being to ever live. Young is Cam but 185 lbs, and I don't think he's going to get away with how he plays at the NFL level.
-
i'm only starting to look at these dudes now, but my immediate reaction is strongly in Stroud's favor. after so many years of back-ups and projects, i'd really just like to watch a sure footed smooth and NFL-ready Quarterback. I see in Young's tape a lot of what I saw in Blaine Gabbert's when people were hyping him up for that draft. so much panic scrambling.
