  1. That 7th playoff spot looks like it should be pretty easy to reach honestly if we are even decent. Especially with the news that Wilson is likely going to miss 6-8 weeks for Seattle. Giving TB the division and assuming 1 WC spot is taken up the Cards/Rams that leaves 2 spots for us, CHI, MIN, NO, WFT, SF, SEA. Bears are 2-2 starting a rookie. Vikings are 1-3 but honestly I think they are the best out of the those teams aside from us. Saints lost to freaking Giants and we dominated them in every facet. WFT is the definition of mediocre. 49ers are starting the rookie because Jimmy G is hurt and half their team is dead again in the toughest division. Seahawks will be starting Geno for over a month in the toughest division. I do agree that this game will go a long way to showing whether we can actually contend with the big boys or are just an also ran that sneaks into the last playoff spot then gets run over easily, but I feel very confident we will be in the playoffs barring major injuries. 9-8 might get in this year.
  2. Erving must have hurt his neck looking behind him to find Gregory
  3. I believe the Packers cap situation required him to actually be released then sign him with cap voodoo
  4. It’s also been said they wanted to send him to favorable place and Gilmore probably expressed he would like to go home
  5. Adoree Jackson just got 13M, Shaq Griffin just got 13.3M. He is better than both of those guys. Top end CBs with new deals are getting $19-20M. Cap is going up and CB is a premium position. I think $15M is a very fair estimate.
  6. Honestly he probably is. Fitterer clearly has a very specific body type and athletic profile he wants in a CB. Given that he's already acquired 3 different CBs(Horn, Henderson, Gilmore) that all fit that exact prototype in just 8 months on the job, I would find it very hard to believe he is going to give out the type of contract that Donte will command($15M+/year) to a guy who most certainly does not fit his ideal CB.
  7. Gilmore's wife. Seems like she may have something to do with this.
  8. 2021 will be his 10th so he will have 10 at the time of signing with his new club
  9. 4. Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph 3(b) above, no Club shall be entitled to a Compensatory Draft Selection before the end of the fifth round for any CFA (excluding quarterbacks) with ten or more Accrued Seasons at the time of signing with his new Club. https://overthecap.com/collective-bargaining-agreement/appendix/V/
  10. If this is true then this is a big win and I'm all in.
  11. I think that means Belichick was asking for more then finally came back and "fine we'll take the 2023 6th"
  12. No, he has said he won’t play this year on his current contract. This year needs to be upped. He wasn’t even going to play last year until the Pats moved money forward.
  13. At minimum we have to upgrade his contract this year.
  14. So basically we are going to pay a 31 year old $15M/year instead of a 25 year old Dante Jackson $15M/year. Not sure how I feel about that.
  15. He doesn’t have range over 50 and can’t get kickoffs to the end zone. He’s probably not an NFL kicker unless he can increase his range pretty significantly unfortunately. At minimum you would need a punter who can double as kickoff specialist and you’d have to be ok with never kicking over 50 yard FGs
  16. And remember when he had to be pulled before halftime of the Ravens game for a hail mary to put in Heinecke(didn't end up being a hail mary cuz Olsen got open on the sideline to get into FG range, but point stands)? Yeah that was before the Steelers game. This stupid ass TJ Watt narrative needs to die. His shoulder was clearly messed up prior to it.
  17. Only interested if he clears waivers. I want nothing to do with that contract.
  18. Rumor is it has something to with drugs entering and leaving the facility. I take that to mean they are looking at whether he was selling pills.
  19. Christensen played some against the Saints. He was ok.
  20. Sam wasn’t available last year and if he was it was certainly for much more than we paid.
  21. I’m fairly certain that time to throw is an awful stat at least in regards to the OL. The clock goes until the ball is thrown or you are sacked. So someone throwing quick slants gets put down at 1 second no matter how well the line would have blocked and a QB that dodges a free rusher then scrambles around for a bit until throwing the ball away goes down as 4 seconds. Circa 2014, Wilson and Cam were well over 3 seconds and they both had awful lines while Brady would be close to 2 seconds with a great line. It’s so context required that I just ignore it at this point. PBWR which is the Y axis in the OP graph is also a weird one. A win is blocking for 2.5 or more seconds and a loss is blocking for 2.4 or less so it’s binary. A 2.4 second block is the same thing as whiffing a block. Same for a 2.5 second block versus a block that lasts 5 seconds. It’s also done purely by computer player location tracking which is based on defender proximity to the QB and is imperfect at best based on what I’ve seen on the NFL’s players tracking. I also don’t love PFF either but I don’t want to get into that right now. Absolutely none of this is meant to say that our line is great because it is not, it is average at best, but I just hate a lot of these stats. Rant over.
