I am not sure that is about not wanting to throw deep as much as that he still has Battered QB Syndrome and also he still struggles with seeing the field effectively. If he can't get outside the pocket or make a quick read, he breaks down.

Clowney makes a play. I am telling you. Clowney isn't Peppers but he would be a starter on a lot of rosters.

I am not sure if it is still the case but Clowney WAS in the top 15 in Pass Rush Win Rate and Run Block Win Rate in the NFL.
