If you are miserable after getting rid of Matt Rhule, Sam Darnold and then drafting a QB #1 overall.....you were surely a Matt Rhule fanboy. No other explanation for it. So he was at his happiest during the worst period in franchise history. Which, probably means he might not actually be a Panthers fan at all.

Yeah, modern NFL offenses put a premium on being able to get open. So you either better be an extremely elite route runner or an elite athlete. It's tough to get a lot of interest if you can do one of those at an elite level. Think about how many "possession" WR's from 20-30 years ago wouldn't be able to find a place in the modern NFL.

I can definitely say they have been whiffing on just about every playoff series. I imagine they are sitting in terror at the prospect of a Canes vs. Panthers and Knights vs. Kraken final four. Which, I hope that happens just to see them squirm.

I would say he is a good DT that can play elite in spurts. I don't think he is an elite player at the position yet, although it is trending that way. Want to see him continue to improve and be much more consistent. Also gonna need to see him continue to play well when he gets a new deal.

CLT isn't the problem. Reference the original and "real" Hornets who led the NBA in attendance for quite a while. NC and CLT can get behind a team and they have the Panthers for significant stretches. The problem is that most fans are pretty sick of the product on the field. Additionally the NFL has made going to games wildly expensive for the average fan and prioritized the TV product versus the live product. I get the reasons why, they are certainly financially sound. It just also comes at a cost when you stink as a team. If we were in the midst of 6 straight 10+ win seasons and a consistent title contender, this wouldn't be a discussion at all.

I will remind you that the Canes went through a 9 year playoff drought and the attendance DEFINITELY reflected it. Any team will suffer in those conditions. The Panthers are in the worst period in franchise history, so some of our attendance issues should be very understandable.

It's like clockwork. Every spring it will be pining excessively over some insane longshot or player with local ties. I get all the feel good stories and wanting to root for them. That stuff is great. But the wild hyperbole and insane hot takes are so ridiculous. There are multitudes od reasons why a lot of these guys never pan out. And then you point that out and you get thrown the handful of examples that made it. Because, you know, if one guy ever made it that's proof positive in the face of the overwhelming statistical data showing how few of these guys pan out.

Why am I not surprised that the dumbest of the Huddle bristled at a completely factual statement?
