Carolina Panthers pick No. 19-2026 NFL Draft
kungfoodude replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
Styles would be fantastic but he is a pretty decent candidate to go ahead of us. I think there is ample talent around 19 and I would be VERY against trading down. That is not something I trust this FO to be able to do successfully. BPA and move on. -
I don't think he probably has any desire to go to another losing team. I know he does have roots in this area but he has also spent most of the last 15 years in California. Also, how would he be drastically different than Coker?

Mike Kaye’s take: 2026 NFL free agency predictions
kungfoodude replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, you can also punt and see what he looks like as a true starter heading into next offseason because he is an ERFA. Then you can make the decision whether that longer term, higher end deal is warranted. Consider the fact that if he becomes a starter next season and then starts dramatically outperforming his 4 year, $20-24 mil deal, he is likely going to be disgruntled and you will have to renegotiate anyway. I don't think the risk is super high having him come in for 2026 at the league minimum. Supposedly he is a high caliber locker room guy and he does get more hate than is warranted. I am fine keeping him but I think the issue is moreso that we aren't attempting to UPGRADE that position. Draft/sign a better option and bring him back as a valuable reserve. As maligned as a ton of the players on this roster are, I think a chunk of them are just miscast. Rozebum and Wallace would be fine as reserve LB's and special teams guys. Same with Scott, same with Nijman, same with Mays, etc, etc, etc. If we attempt to improve a lot of these positions, we can bump these lower quality starters down where they belong, as reserves.- 31 replies

Carolina Panthers pick No. 19-2026 NFL Draft

IDK, I see a lot of early mocks predicting him higher. I am 100% in on a new LT/RT option. It really alleviates a lot of potential panic movement if either Ekwonu or Moton are gone in the 2027 offseason. I think it is criminal to not prepare as if you have two new OT's in 2027. Just be prepared now. -
We will see. The details on her are as scarce as they come. I am not convinced she is a true football/sports fan. She seems more like a stereotypical rich wife type that seems to be more socially active than actually truly interested in the team. I am not personally getting an Irsay daughters vibe. That is a third generation of NFL ownership, so it's literally in their bloodline to an extent. That's not my personal read on Nicole.

I don't think the "good teams don't go for it on 4th down" is ALWAYS accurate. Some of this is newer football philosophical changes. Look at the Lions, for instance. They are always in the top 10 for most 4th down attempts under Dan Campbell. I will say that it does say a lot that the Panthers have been inside the top 10 in 4th down attempts every year except 2018 and 2021 since Tepper has been the owner. All losing seasons......

All indicators are that the Giants are set to make another bad hire at HC. I think Dart is just generally kind of stupid. You hear him talk and I really get the sense he is not one of these brainy, analytical QB's. Extremely skeptical of him. They probably should have kept him on the bench at least 2-3 years to let him learn the position.

But but but...8-9, bro! But NFC South champs!!

Supposedly Dave is very hands off on the defense or so he has said. I do think that does speak to some of those coaching limitations. There is an entire thread on this, BTW.

It's the same with the OL group. Why would you not continually churn that group? Worst case scenario, you are moving players because you can't pay everyone. I am too, TBH. I guess it's really more Dan Morgan than Dave. I am nervous that this "alignment" isn't skepticism but belief. I don't think Tepper will make the right decisions the next cycle. I think once again it will be either HC or GM being fired out of cycle and then another merger of the minds with the existing entitites. I am not of the "Oh Tepper has learned!" crowd. I think he has learned to not be such a fug head in front of company and that's about it.

The early draft articles are gonna be pretty sketchy. All that material gets better as real NFL scouts and FO folks start talking to journalists and draftniks. Also everyone will start locking into "draft mode" and doing serious deep dives as opposed to less surface level quick looks. This is projected to be a very weak overall QB class so it is possible some of those Day 3 guys make their way to Day 2 but I don't personally anticipate that happening to a lot of them.

Love the idea and the player, he is literally exactly what we need to fill a couple of roles but it's highly unrealistic.
-
That is definitely not true. It could be true with a few of them but this is also the thing people said about Anthony Richardson or Dillon Gabriel or Shadeur Sanders or JJ McCarthy or.... You get the point. Bryce is very bad, in fact he is basically a backup QB. But there are worse QB's and more than we sometimes think.
-
Yeah, I think he stays with Seattle. You don't trade for a guy midseason and then let him walk in the offseason unless he was a disaster.
-
Absolutely would love this pickup. However, he may opt to stick with the Seahawks since they actually win. As an elite field stretcher AND top shelf returner, he will have a ton of suitors. Edit: I will caution that we ask our WR's to run block a LOT. Same issue that cost him snaps in New Orleans.

Trubisky would be a top 5 backup QB with potential for long term replacement stretches if Bryce gets benched. The issue will be price. Also a big fan of Allar late in the draft. THAT is the kind of injury gamble you take. Not in the 2nd but on a 5th-7th rounder that was formerly a top 2 round prospect.
