It has to be a sickness to watch and pull for this team. 11 penalties for 103 yards in a must win game is pathetic. Tom Brady would have a tough time winning with this headwind.

You can't lose your way into the playoffs and if you expect this team to sweep the Bucs, you are going to be disappointed.

I expect Horn, Brown, Chuba, Moton to have the locker room amped

It is tough to beat any NFL team twice in a year. The Panthers are more talented than the Saints and now have tape on their rookie QB. They have to win this game and it will speak volumes if they don't with the implications. -
New Orleans Bryce’s house of horror. Observer

Last year after the bye week, the Panthers almost beat the Chiefs and looked excellent. Not much history, but all we have with Canales young tenure. -
Rookies often come out hot and then they struggle once more tape is out on them. Let's see what this kids does the rest of the year and next year. I'm no NFL scout, but he does seem to be calm and in control of the offense which is a big deal for a rookie.

Jonathan Brooks parts of Joe Person Athletic article dec 8
jtm replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I understand that the Panthers likely want to be very conservative with his recovery, but it is concerning that Brooks isn't doing full speed cuts after a year. There is no rhyme or reason why some players get hurt all the time while others don't. Also, some guys come back from injury with zero side effects and others are never the same. I'm pulling for him, but this doesn't seem like a Thomas Davis kind of ending. -
If Evero isn't in Carolina next year, this tells me that Tepper is still micro managing everyone because he's not getting a head coaching job and it would be silly to leave for another d coordinator job after a good year. Plus, I suspect Canales and Morgan and easy to work for.

He excels with scripted plays and why the first drive often leads to a score and teams practice the 2 minute offense all the time.

Request: Can someone do a deep dive on our Defense?
jtm replied to CanadianCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Horn and Brown are having All Pro years and this has been the difference for sure. Plus, this team has young talent versus last year they were basically pulling people off the streets to play on defense. -
Let's try to enjoy the fact that the Panthers have meaningful football in December. I'm an arm chair QB like the rest of us and I'm starting to think that Canales' play calling is impacting Bryce as well. The part I don't know is if Canales is calling limited plays because of Bryce's limitations or if he's just calling bad plays.
-
We’ll see how the rest of the year goes, but I have a feeling Geno Smith will be Dalton’s replacement next year and this will be the Panthers handcuff if bad Bryce comes out for any stretch. Smith and Canales have history and Russell Wilson wouldn’t surprise me either.

I just don't see how Panthers fans can complain about the 2025 draft. I mean, every player drafted (except for one) is either starting or is getting playing time and some significant playing time.

Tonight is a statement game if they win. -
Baker is in a sling…. The division is a 2 horse race!

It is the NFL, there are no easy games and good teams can have off days and we see this every weekend. -
It is going to come down to how they do against the Bucs and Saints and this is how it should be. The rest of the games are against west coast teams with two of them in Charlotte and west coast teams don't do as well playing 3 hours earlier.

How many Qbs can you name better than Bryce Young?
jtm replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
It is a tough one because there are three versions of Bryce Young and you never know which one you are going to get - Good Bryce, Average Bryce, and Bad Bryce. Stroud and Williams have really struggled as well. -
I think Bryce balls out again and the Panthers win in a close one. Panthers will have a defender shadow CMC the whole game so I expect he'll be contained to under 100 yards.
-
I forgot he was on the team and I'm pulling for him, but the statistics are not in his favor. Some guys can recover from injuries and others cannot and let's hope Brooks is the former. He was a beast in high school and college.
-
I wish he and Cam would go away and I loved watching both of them play, but I can't stand to hear them commentate or give interviews. Both seem like real jerks when the cameras are not around and especially Smitty.
-
I of course have no idea, but I suspect they did not want to give up on Bryce at that time and drafting another QB would have sent the wrong message to Bryce. Picking NFL QBs is a crapshoot and even sound franchises miss and I'd be willing to throw a 4th rounder to see if Shedeur can make it. I think he's better than Bryce which I know isn't saying much. As a fyi, Carolina played its starters against Cleveland for part of the game and he still lit them up.
-
Everything Tepper does is lightspeed stupid and I agree that this would be yet another, stupid move.
-
Why not throw a 4th rounder at Shedeur Sanders and let's see what happens. Dalton is gone after this year so they are going to have to get a vet anyway and I doubt Bryce is going anywhere although I also doubt that they give him a long term contract.
-
The Panthers are going to go after a vet QB in the offseason and I doubt it is Lawrence. With jobs on the line, the staff and coaches will not want to wait for another rookie QB to develop. My guess is the Panthers overpay for Mac Jones and they end up with the New England version instead of the San Fran version.
