Bryce Young - High Ankle Sprain, out minimum 1 week
jtm replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Dalton will ball out this weekend with a week of practice as the starter. -
I wouldn't call Dallas a crappy team and most of us Panthers fans have been on life support for a long time and I'm trying to somewhat enjoy not being the laughing stock of the sports world.

Panthers have the 3rd leading rusher in NFL

The Panthers won and did the right thing for Chuba. I suspect this weekend or next, could be a different story. -

You might not agree with it, but this is the reality. If Chuba doesn't out play Rico this weekend, I suspect that Rico will be starting the following week. -
I don't see how you can say that Dalton is washed from a couple preseason games and a couple series yesterday. I predict that he plays great this weekend.
-
This is a winnable game at home this weekend. The Bills are injured and not playing well. I expect the Panthers to run the ball heavy so Dalton or Bryce will not put up big stats but they need to not turn the ball over for the Panthers to have a chance.

Great game by XL and he's going to have opportunities with TMac getting a lot of attention from defenses.

Chuba is a key leader on this team and he needs to give Chuba an opportunity to keep the starting job and this is the right way to handle this. We can all see that Rico is a better back at the moment and he's going to win the starting job, but he needs to win if fair and square with both backs battling it out and not when a guy is injured. Two backs going 110% to be the starter is a good thing. -
This place wants to get rid of every single player that doesn't have a banner rookie year and XL is no different. I'm not saying XL is the answer, but I am saying that no one should turn on any player this early in their NFL career unless they have work ethic and/or locker room issues and XL has neither of these. The guy is barley in his 2nd year in the league. This place said Derrick Brown was a bust.

I don't think Bryce is a franchise QB, but this fanbase and franchise also said the same thing about Baker Mayfield. Even Darnold had success elsewhere.
-
The Panthers are a better offense with Evans and Tremble on the field compared to Sanders. Sanders has way more upside, but drops too many passes and can't block nearly as well as Evans and Tremble.

This. The Huddle is entertainment these days. A couple weeks ago there were threads to fire Dan and folks were saying Mike Jackson might be the best trade ever by the Panthers. It is entertaining for sure.
-
There are only a handful of shutdown corners in the entire NFL and Horn is one of them and Jackson certainly is not. The Panthers don't have much of a pass rush and our DBs are getting exposed because of this. Nothing that can be done about this now other than hoping that our young pass rushers continue to improve.

I wanted him as well, but the Panthers had bigger needs. It will be interesting to see if he can continue to play as physical as he is playing given that he isn't as big as Brandon Jacobs, Peyton Hillis, Derrick Henry, etc. I suspect he'll have a short NFL career but he sure is fun to watch and pull for.

I just can’t stomach going through another HC search. Can someone just call me when the Panthers are relevant again. This is so depressing.
-
He looks tired and stressed out. I can't imagine a more stressful situation then coaching the Panthers and having to answer to Tepper.

Map/Mock-up the Panthers path out of the cellar
jtm replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
There is no way to fix this team while Tepper is the owner. Canales is not the answer. Bryce also isn't the answer. I'd throw a 4th or 5th round pick for Shedeur Sanders which also might not be the answer. Picking a good QB these days is a crap shoot, so we need to get as many as we can until we find one that is good. -
It is imploding either way
-
At this point, you have to ride it out with Bryce so the team is 100% confident he isn’t the guy. It accomplishes nothing to bring Dalton in so the Panthers can win a couple games and finish 2nd to last versus last place.

What identity is Canales trying to establish for this team?
jtm replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I heard part of his corny speech about “everything is about the ball” and knew we were cooked. -
I can’t believe this many people don’t cut the tv off and go enjoy their day. On Canales, we’ve seen this play out many times and we all know what is going to happen. Will it change anything, nope, not with Tepper as the owner.

Is Mike Jack already the 2nd best trade in Panthers history?
jtm replied to Basbear's topic in Carolina Panthers
Probably will not fare well, but if the Panthers can just beat the bad NFL teams and half of the decent teams, this would be a huge improvement and would show progress in the right direction instead of the constant rebuild. -
TMac had an off game and dropped several passes. Also, there is enough film on Bryce and teams know that he will pick you apart if he isn't pressured, so teams are going to pressure him regularly which means short passes.
-
The Panthers need to go on a run because they have a number of winnable games coming up.
-
With our weak LBs, the safeties have to tackle and this is Ransom's strength. Hopefully one of our young LBs can beat out Rozeboom because he shouldn't be a starter.
