I think we good hoodwinked thinking just because a QB was successful at Alabama, they will be successful in NFL. If history tells us anything, most any QB was successful under Saban and have been poor NFL QB's. Hell their best NFL QB left the school after being demoted (and goes on to win a Super Bowl) LOL. Bama's talent and coaching was superior to almost everyone they played making life a lot easier for a QB.

What proof of this is there? As DC, he oversaw mid-level defenses on teams with abysmal records (5-11, 2-15) and one of the worst defenses in history this year. Even those so-called "mid-level" defenses came on teams with historically bad offenses, where opposing teams didn’t have to do much win. Does anyone really believe our defense was good last year? We had an offense that set records for how bad it was, and all teams needed to do was run the ball, control the clock, and cruise to victory. Sure, we had some tough injuries this season, but let’s be honest—our defense couldn’t stop anyone.

We sure do like to pay our running backs! It has rarely worked out, except for a few of J-Stews second contract years. At least its only basically a two year deal if they want to dump him. Now we will have spent a 2nd rounder that comes in 3rd down and certain packages. Would have been a lot nicer if we spent a 2nd on a defensive lineman instead of someone that will get 12-15 snaps a game.
