  1. If I recall correctly, footwork was something that came up last year under Reich. I am going by memory, but I think it was along the lines of 'we plan to address this in the offseason'. Reich was fired not long after. Does BY have bad footwork due to him over-compensating for his size? He definitely has happy feet as he clearly is not comfortable in the pocket. Canales seems like a very positive coach, it would hard to believe he is the reason BY is worse but I supposed if BY always had bad footwork, he may not have felt comfortable changing it. And if Canales really was working on footwork, it did not improve....at all. I do think Canales should have played him in pre-season and that was a big miss. I think there is a lot more to this story than we know.
  2. I agree with this as well. Just seems like how it was presented opened up the negative firestorm. When questioned Canales had no other direction other than 'Andy gives us the best chance to win'. I think it could have been handled differently. It is all on how you word it.
  3. The decision to put BY in timeout is the right one for a number of reasons already discussed. I actually think it is best for the team, but also the best for BY. However, it seems like it has become a very negative distraction for the Panthers. You cannot listen to any sports show without the pontificators giving their opinions on how the Panthers are a terrible team and all the negative stuff around the decision. This absolutely cannot be helping the team. My question is this: Why didn't Canales just announce that BY woke up with some soreness in his shoulder and we feel it is best to sit him this week against the Raiders? It would have avoided all of this negative PR and allowed the team to focus on the Raiders. Reich pretty much did this last year against Seattle with the phantom ankle injury. This would have taken the national spotlight off this and the media firestorm. The Panthers go into LV with Andy and if he plays well, then you just stay with the 'hot-hand'. Why make such a big 'announcement' that we are 'benching BY'?
  4. To avoid all of this negative publicity, I wonder why the Panthers just didn’t make a phantom injury for Bryce. Easier to have him miss upcoming games due to injury versus how they approached it by benching him.
  5. Pretty sure Reich, Josh McCown, and Deuce Staley were fired by Tepper because they wanted to bench Bryce last year.
  6. Or Russell Wilson.....the Seattle connection for Fittererer
  7. The mess in Carolina will never be fixed as long as Tepper meddles and is involved in daily football decisions. If he lets the football experts make the decisions and coach the team, then there could be hope.
  8. Is John Wohlford still on the PS? He was another QB with some Canales ties
  9. If Canales lasts this year. Those Tepper Monday meetings will be brutal.
  10. I then got yelled out every Monday by Tepper because he could not fix Bryce and win.
  11. Not sure Canales is allowed to bench Young. Remember last year, Reich wanted to bench him and got fired.
  12. Tepper will probably blame/fire Canales before the end of season as if it is his fault that team has no talent and can’t win.
  13. If Tepper continues to be involved in the day to day football decisions than the Panthers will never be more than a continual rebuilding team.
  14. Very disappointing to see this. This leads me to believe Tepper is still very involved in the football side of the Panthers. .
  15. Because he is holding the offense back, and ultimately the team. You put him in timeout because he is not developing. I don't think any of us need to see another 16 games of him playing QB (if it is a continuation of the past 15 games) to know he is not 'it'. If we see it, I would hope the HC sees it too. The Panthers need to learn how to win. They have built a losing culture. You don't want to see Dalton, fine put in the Plummer. I doubt his play would have been much worse than what we saw last Sunday.
  16. If Bryce has another stinker on Sunday, I sure hope Tepper will let Canales put Bryce in time-out. It really is doing nobody any good to see him struggle. If Bryce is ever going to be at least average, he needs to build his confidence and last week certainly did not help. Some of the best QB's 'sat a year' before playing (Love, Rodgers, Mahommes, Favre to name a few). He clearly was not ready last year, and at least 3 of the coaches agreed (they were fired).
  17. Well the 50 yard bomb should have never even happened. Remember the prior play there was a very obvious block in the back on a screen play that was not called. I mean everyone saw it. If I am not mistaken that was a 3rd down play too, and Miami picked up a chunk of yards. The 50 yard bomb came right after this play.
  18. The team addressed the o-line, WR’s, TE, RB in the offseason. Even after the disaster yesterday, I can see they are a QB away from having a presentable offense. They have playmakers. Unfortunately Bryce is not one of them. Seems like a good kid, but just does not have “it”. Can you imagine 2015 Cam with this o-line and playmakers?
