  1. In retrospect, knowing who Tom Brady always has been, do you think an extra 20 yards would have really denied him from field goal range in a Super Bowl? Cotchery on the other hand. If they get that call right, the sack/fumble never happens.
  2. I'd bump ILB up higher. S and CB can be easily plugged in via free agency. And I'm so gun-shy about spending draft capital on CBs after the experience with Horn. He's a stud when healthy, but we spent the bulk of his rookie contract with him on IR, and soon we won't be able to afford him. I think I'd much rather pick up a 4th or 5th year man with a proven track record of availability. The inside of the defensive line, just like the inside of the offensive line is what it all hinges on. So a solid DT and a field general MLB are thing we've sorely missed since the KK/Star/Luke years. Frankly, I think EDGE is overvalued these days. Sure, sacks are nice, but unless you're causing turnovers, it's just one play. And 2nd and 14 doesn't mean dick if you then give up a couple of 10 yard runs. Shut down the run, and the QB pressures will follow. It's basically exactly what Dallas did to us.
  3. Honestly it's something to aspire to. Dak owes his entire career to the Cowboys dedicating multiple off-seasons to creating a stout O-Line.
  4. Okay, little things, but Bryce's ability to get the ball off puts us in position to draw that foul
  5. Why? What's to be gained? Try to win a meaningless game? I'd rather see how Bryce handles this poo wreck.
  6. Chuba has been getting stuffed as well. This isn't all on Bryce. The line is back to the line that made GEQBUS and Baker look like hot flaming trash.
  7. I mean, there's an ocean between "not playing perfect" and the protection Bryce is getting today.
  8. The Dallas fans next to me at the bar just said, "Forget Dak! Get him outta here!" If that happened as a result of this game, it would be worth it!
  9. Bryce is not playing like Bryce before the benching. There was a level of temerity there that honestly I didn't think he had it in him to overcome. He was playing scared, like the game was too big for him. Bryce before the benching would not have been able to deliver a throw knowing he was going to get hit. Bryce after the benching steps up into pressure, keeps his eyes down field and delivers an accurate strike, and then gets leveled. When Bryce before the benching ran, he looked like he was fleeing. Bryce after the benching looks like he's escaping. There's no other way to describe it. I'm not looking at the same player before and after the benching. I don't know what the cause for it is, but Bryce is playing with confidence, excitement, and playing the game at a very high level. I never would have believed I'd be saying this earlier this season, but I think he's our QB.
  10. I don't think anyone expected to be the Philly game to be as close as it was. So maybe (just speculating!) we saw this as an opportunity to rest up our borderline healthy players to get ready for what on paper anyway looks like a much more winnable game, against Dallas, in front of home fans. I wonder how many players wouldn't have scratched if we knew it was going to come down to the final drive.
  11. Nope. FA or later pick. We have too many needs on defense. I'd say trade back, grab a solid field general MLB, and get a second rounder back.
  12. Photo finish with a legit title contender. You have to ba happy with the showing if not the outcome. (Honestly, "the better team lost today" is the best outcome we can hope for the rest of the season! I'm here for it!) And I'd like to remind people that we are missing several of our best players due to injury. If we bring this intensity to next season, and can keep our playmakers healthy (and we put stick'em on XL's hands) we have the makings of a really solid team.
  13. XL understood the assignment. Moral victory taking the game down to the wire against another really quality NFL team. ...but don't hurt the draft position.
