  1. You summed it up nicely with one qoute: ("Bottom line: Young's candle may burn twice as bright and last half as long.")
  2. QB C.J. Stroud Growing As Favorite To Be The No. 1 overall Pick In The 2023 NFL draft Jeff Risdon Draft Wire Fri, March 17, 2023 at 8:03 AM EDT The Carolina Panthers have not yet declared which player they’re targeting after trading up to land the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. However, the sportsbooks have a clear and growing suspicion that the Panthers will select Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud with the first pick. The latest odds update at Fanduel sportsbook lists Stroud as the most likely pick by the Panthers. Stroud is currently -220 to be the top pick, up from -120 a week ago. Bryce Young remains the No. 2 option in the odds at +250, followed by Anthony Richardson at +350. It’s a little different at BetMGM, where Richardson is ahead of Young in the odds to be the top pick. Stroud is an even bigger favorite there; the Buckeyes QB is -250, while Richardson checks in at +300 and Young is +350.
  3. That is my exact line of thinking! Let the prices drop and get one in the 2nd wave of free agency and then go all out to obtain a real good one in the draft.
  4. Odell Beckham still thinks teams are foolish enough to believe he is an asset. A physically fragile player with the emotional makeup of a spoiled 2 year old. In the end his career will end as one big bust through his years with the Giants, the failed hype of his arrival in Cleveland, (what a circus that turned out to be) and his limited injury ended time with the Rams. Where’s the success? Where’s the positive addition to any team? Now he falls into a coma on the plane and needs to be carted off. My suggestion stay far far away from him. You don’t want him wearing your uniform ever.
  5. Woooo!!! That would a lot of wild trading.
  6. If one does research they will find that every QB Frank Reich has liked or been involved with was taller than most. Therefore, I can not see him changing his mindset at this late stage in his career and selecting a QB the size of Bryce Young when a C,J Stroud is there for the taking..
  7. I think Puljujarvy can play tough when he has to.
  8. The McCray signing was a good one due to his versatility along the offensive line while making an appealing option to fill in for Corbett or other players that may not be ready to start the season. Plus, a signing like this would give the offensive a lot of flexibility along the interior offensive line.
  9. If the report that he may have been withholding money is true, then Snyder will be long gone. However, in this day and time one has to take reports with a grain of salt until they are proved factual.
  10. D.J. Moore deserved to have played with better QB's here in Carolina and now that he is no longer a Panther they appear to be getting a good one. That fact alone would tend to make him respond in an unusual manner.
  11. Exactly!!! I cannot for the life of me see those two pounding the other team and wearing them down like Foreman could. I was hoping the Panthers would resign Foreman to add power to the Sanders/Hubbard backfield but I sadly realize that money is tight and the Panthers have lots of other holes to fill.
  12. The Packers actually have a ton of leverage because of Rodgers' cap hit, and the fact that free agency is ongoing. If the Packers wait until June to offload him, the 2023 cap hit almost gets cut in half And the Jets can't afford to wait until then. They need to have a QB locked up so they know what they have left in the budget. The Packers can keep Rodgers or watch him retire. The Jets are in a 'win now' mode. The pressure is entirely on the Jets.
  13. I share your pain but even the so called expects often find it is a hit and miss when they make their bold predictions.
  14. Adam Schefter will probably go back and forth on his prediction between Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud from one week to the next. I am still holding firm in my belief the Panthers select C.J. Stroud because he is the type QB that Reich has always liked. However, if I am wrong, i will not be disappointed with the selection of Bryce Young. C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young are both potential franchise QB's, so it's a win-win, regardless of which one they chose.
  15. Getting the WR cleared up is my main concern. Hopefully, the Panthers are able to pull some rabbits (WR's) out of the hat sooner, rather than later. It's not like there are that many obtainable ones out there to select from.
  16. Tepper by his own admission and to his credit, did admit he made a big mistake in that regard, one I seriously doubt he will make again
  17. I am leaning toward C.J. Stroud as the favorite because he not only checks the boxes but is Reich's type of QB to scheme around. However, if the Panthers decide to select Bryce Young a great QB in his own right, I will not be disappointed with the selection.
  18. I agree. That would be like having "Double Trouble" as running backs again.
  19. I was really surprised the players voted not to play in the NIT. It would have been a good experience for them and helped to erase the memory of a not so good season.
  20. Getting the WR cleared up is my main concern. Hopefully, the Panthers are able to pull some rabbits (WR's) out of the hat sooner, rather than later. It's not like there are that many obtainable ones out there to select from.
  21. Something that has been lacking as far back as I can remember and I've been a Panthers fan from day one.
