Pledge to continue being a fan the rest of the season....
CRA replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
meh, current set up has college football on a horrific path in the big picture. Ruining what made it great. it just going to be really shitty version of professional football at it's current path. At least the relevant top of it. It was always flawed. They are now are going to ruin it. -
the don't cuss people are much more tolerable than the please don't stand up people.

reason # 7443 why I like my GM/HC paired. When they are unpaired, everyone has different priorities and timetables. Because the seats are at different temperatures. Fitt was coming into this season with a seat at a different temperature than Frank. I don't think Fitt thought we could have a boring season and wait for the good/heavy QB class of 2024. I think Frank would have been fine waiting. Fine just seeing what happened in the draft itself.

I mean, I personally don't care but how you going to look down on ketchup on a hotdog while championing ketchup on da chicken nuggies?
-
see this is bad coaching though. you see this all the time. that's on the staff. another reason why Frank shouldn't call games. dude is lost in his poo playcalling. Frank botching all kinds of basics too. Saw that Sunday. Bryce hasn't been good. It's tough to argue there is any evidence this staff is able to help this kid out. I think they need to install a slow no huddle. Cam thrived in it. You can run Frank's simplistic game out of that. QB gets to the line early. Call ready. Plenty of time to relax, check out the landscape, time is on your side.

Argument is there for Stroud being off to the best individual start by a rookie. All time 4 games in he is behind Cam and in front of Luck in passing yards at #2. Difference is Stroud has 0 INTs. Cam had 4 and Luck 5.

Plenty of stuff available on Frank in Indy for you to go listen to. multiple things can be true. Generally always are. There is no one thing to fix here. We got multiple issues and the marriage of that is obviously bad.
-
Frank independently sucks. This horrific and predictable scheme/playcalling isn't created for Bryce. It's what he does. Frank doesn't just suck out of catering to a rookie. A limited rookie definitely makes Frank probably worse. I mean, everything is essentially designed for his classic big body QB to sit back there. Frank is a dinosaur. There has been no real adapting for Bryce to be successful as a rookie. Frank's idea of helping Bryce is to just have even worse playcalls and be more predictable.
-
No, Bryce is just limited. That's going to be it's own thing regardless even as he develops. You can get a good scheme, playcaller, and talent. But Bryce simply isn't going to ever bring some things to the table. And that's probably true with most players.
-
We don’t just have 1 problem Bryce is limited. Talent wise in the NFL. Frank runs a horrible offense and there are no studs on the roster that have the talent to overcome that marriage and just make something special happen out of nothing.

How many of these plays could Bryce make?

It would be close. We have a roster of guys that ideally are #3 WRs. That’s LaFell. LaFell was flat out better overall WR than present day Mingo, TMJ, Shenault and Chark at WR. Old Thielen is still better. But it’s not that wild to say. It’s wrong because of Theilen but I’m not sure the gap is that massive. If you forced feed LaFell on easy routes he would have yards at this point too. -
What's more important, Talent or Coaching?
CRA replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
it's always a mix. But I think overall, talent generally speaking is the most important. I mean, horrific coaching or horrific talent can torpedo anything. But would you rather have: A - Great talent, average coaching B - Great coaching, average talent. Because to me, with A you can get a 2015 season. Not consistent but you get the special. with B, you get the present day New England Patriots. Doesn't matter that much at the NFL level if you got great coaching and mid level talent. You will never really do anything with so many freaks in the NFL that get paired with middle tier coaching. -

meh. Just draft Caleb and Harrison Jr. The trading out of it is where Chicago would end up screwing it all up. -

He had 2 Pro Bowl RBs He had pro bowlers on the OL and he had an all world WR to throw to while the 2 TE scheme was emphasized it was a great setup for a high draft pick -

Nothing rose colored about it. People have always let how horrific Clausen was skew it. 2 Pro Bowl RBs 1 HOF WR 2 Pro Bowl TEs Pro Bowl LT Pro Bowl C Most underrated lineman in Panther history in Wharton that’s your entire blind side. All Cam had to do was worry about the RT. Which is basically a dream OL setup for a rookie. And Kalil could take care of the calls for him. that’s a flat out fantastic group around a high draft pick QB. Who always go to bad offensive scenarios. *Olsen was Olsen, Bears just weren’t taking advantage of the first round TE. Shockey while not in his prime was exactly the type great vet player you surround a rookie with. -
I think he can be a good QB But his size and arm flat out limit what he can do at this level vs others. He always had the lowest ceiling of any top QB in the draft for that reason. He can be an elite game manager on a good team. But there will always be limitation. Lack of extending plays and throws that simply aren’t on the table but would be for others

Rookie/developing Cam was in a great spot. Cam’s rookie season was a dream scenario for a rookie QB. -
Frank was literally asked in his presser why the ball went deeper more vs Seattle. He is on video at his presser.
-
Because he is a proven horrible actual WR that can’t run routes and despite the athletic ability can’t get open. so they scheme him up a couple screens or routes a game.
-
Frank conceded he has to put new plays in for Dalton downfield per the vets request. Which certainly implied Frank intentionally kept it short weeks 1-2 at least vs Seattle
-
Probably better to just check out a 6 minute clip each week to get up to speed on Young than wasting a couple hours on Sunday at this stage
-
Big fan of these cut ups that show you all the snaps. It’s just TV footage but I like going back and watching. Just figured I’d share if anyone else likes them.
-
Yep, this is the Frank issue. Frank is horrific and was begged to quit doing it in Indy. He refused. Now he is being called out here. He can’t turn it over because there really is nowhere to go but up. Then what does that make him?
-
we brought back an entire OL that was what? Decent at archaic football? They aren't being asked to do that. That's not 2023 NFL football. Those are 2 different things. It's like old Cam Newton scoring some ugly TDs on the ground and then saying you don't understand why he also just sit back and pass. He scored TDs! I'm not sure Miles Sanders is a better RB than Foreman. What shows that? One season as an early down RB behind the Eagles OL? Foreman would abuse folks running behind that Philly OL. Because you couldn't play Foreman. The biggest problem is people buying into the Panther PR/fluff. It was talked about going in. -this wasn't an allstar staff - the backfield wasn't strong enough nor suited for the offense we would be running - the WRs didn't suit the offense we would be running - defense were going to come out and sit on the small ball pass attack and make life miserable for Bryce - OL leans toward run blocking that doesn't mesh well with what Frank + Bryce marriage in 2023 - Frank Reich is a horrific playcaller that will compound every issue and should never call plays here. People just didn't want to listen. All the above was said and predictable.
