Most people on this site get that Rico not getting the ball at all on 2 of the first 3 series is a CHOICE. And a bad one. Which outs the gameplan (lack there of being a good one) going into the game of not wanting to take advantage of a bad rush D with your best player. and if you go back and watch some of those Rico goes wild games. We opted to run.....when in theory you shouldn't of if you had a good QB. Which is what we should of opted to do vs a horrific run D with Dalton at QB. Pretty sure if Rico Dowdle was the primary RB.....that entire game changes. Bills couldn't stop him. He just barely touched the ball in the first half. Coaching choic. We probably lose but we probably are competitive late. I mean, its actually WILD to suggest giving Rico the ball heavy of and often early vs that bad run defense doesn't change much.

31st rushing D and 8 carries by Rico is coaching. Rico is easily the best offensive weapon right now and it’s not really close. *literally everyone knows Dalton is washed, horrible and shouldn’t even be a backup QB. Drive 1? ZERO carries. Coaching. Drive 2 - Rico was playing great. Did Canales lean into that or go for “balance”? Coaching. Drive 3 - ZERO carries. Coaching Drive 4 - 1 carry and opted for Jimmy Horn gadget rush (you can’t stick with the Horn repetitive gadget runs each week and that’s not a better idea than getting Rico going) Drive 5 - basically Dalton heavy as the half expired. I don’t need to watch a game to know it’s coaching. The gameplan wasn’t about setting Rico up to go off on a trash rush D. It was bullshit harmony balance of the rush and the pass and making Hubbard feel good.

The other week after the Rico games there was a movement by a small crowd to say Evero maybe doesn’t suck and Canales is a great playcaller (because Luke Kuechky did some light PR praise)
-
See my original post where I commented on the 31st rush D and Rico having 8 carries. we knew going in the Bills basically can do one and only one thing. Pressure the QB. Sure seems like a gameplan that went away from our biggest strength and right into what the Bills can do. All you need to see is the box score to know we never had a chance thanks to Dave Canales while facing the best team to date (where coaching is going to be at a premium)

We knew he was completely washed last season. Folks calling Morgan a good GM need to reconsider such silliness. It’s the most important spot in football.
-
I see we played the 31st rush D and Rico had 8 carries…..which tells me so much. Hope all the folks who randomly were calling Canales a good playcaller/HC the other week reconsider such.

Painful part about Bryce is he is sort of risk adverse and still implodes games. It’s easier to swallow with a PJ Walker Dalton can probably muster up 1-2 games. He is his too old and washed to have out there long

Yeah, I’m not even hating. But playing in the SEC, with a meh OL and meh weapons (I mean Harbor is more fast than good)….and Mike Shula calling the O is not the recipe to develop like he needs. Plus I don’t think a hot seat Beamer can fix it in the portal all in one year
-
I like him. He just needs to develop more and he needs to stay in college a year. he also needs to get out of SC and go to a stacked team (with a good OC) where developing is easier when not forced into a hero ball role.

Now that Clemson is total asscheeks….that GT/UGA game is one I got circled to watch. It can’t top last years but I’ll be pulling for Tech from here on out
-
My bad lol, I did. Thought you were inventing a hypothetical team into the mix. LG addressed that FSU team. Injury kept them out. Injury to King would be massively more impactful than a loss for the committee. Commiteee would drop them massively if King went down in the ACC title game
-
But again, GT would be sitting as a top 3 team if they went into the ACC title game undefeated….and then lost. There would zero way the committee could knock them far with their only L being a title loss, with the UGA win with a healthy QB. Committee already has been clear they don’t want the conference titles to negatively impact teams (because that hurts the SEC absent BIG10 teams) I’m also ONLY arguing for GT and their setup. Not some hypothetical ACC team in another season.
-
FSU can‘t be 13-0 if GT are the 12-1 ACC champs. They also are auto in as the ACC champs. but let’s say they lose in the ACC title game to get to 12-1…..they are still 100% are in the CFP. Pending King is healthy. They would be an undefeated top 3 team going into the conference championship knocking down UGA and the committee doesn’t hammer you for the conference championship L
-
12-1 makes them a top 5 team going into the playoffs IMO. Where you putting a 12-1 ACC champ? How could you put that outside the top 10 I mean, that’s the resume that got you into the 4 team playoff. Not sure how a loss to UGA would send them out of the top 10
-
I think GT will be 12-1 going into the playoffs. That will be a top 5 team. They already are a top 10 team. King is the best football player. Mendoza the best QB

Bryce has played a big role often in our losses. He can lose a game in the first quarter.

Cam Newton gets into it with Alabama A&M mascot
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nah, he wasn’t playing. And that’s answered by Cam after the incident as he walked off trying to reign it all back in -

Totally agree. In real life. But, I would think context here has to matter. They decided to do a silly bit for TV with mascots. Which means it’s not real life. So mascot, tv, silly, light hearted entertainment rules are in play. And a mascot doing something like putting someone’s hat on their head isn’t outlandish. in the end, Cam handled that horrifically. And I’m as pro Cam as anyone. -
I mean, Vegas is the opposite of stupid

I mean, it was true for the week he was declared best deep passer in the NFL. That's why the 1 completion is entrenched in my memory bank. and there is a post that breaks down every single 20+ yard throw last year. It has the video to go with it. I'll find it later. He barely went downfield and the results were bad vs his peers. That's not a myth. Generally the Bryce defense is a technicality game IMO. Where you he is criticized for doing something poorly over a long stretch of time and people cherry pick some exceptions to the collective work.
-
you tell me what the QB who played vs the Jags, Cards, Falcons, Patriots, Jets should be described as. The word is below average. Which is the majority of his games. Which was my post. What is the QB rating? He presently ranks with the 30th highest this season on ESPN with their qualified QBs. And this is the "good" Bryce lol.
-
yeah, I wish NextGen wouldn't skip random games. For whatever reason they didn't do his week 17 game. In fact, the 2 games they didn't do for him appear to be both the Tampa Bay games. Other Tampa game isn't there either. Everything else is there.
-
maybe, I noted that Next Gen was missing a couple games. That's all I can go off of. What game was that.
-
yeah, a lot of that has been addressed in old Bryce talks. He barely has plays to those deeper sections. It was broken down with the "best deep passer in the league"........when he had like 1 completion. Other dudes were going 3/4 w/ TDs those weeks. And Bryce getting a completion was rare.

So, Is Bryce Playing this Week or Nah?
CRA replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce didn't have those same weapons on his late season run that Andy had in his 2 cherry picked horrible games. Dionte was traded. Mingo was traded. Sanders gone for the majority. Adam Thielen returned. Andy was over 220+ in 3 (majority) of his games. And again, Andy Dalton is old and washed. He is not good. No one ever says he is good. The Panthers were a more threatening team overall in Dalton's starts both seasons in the pass game vs when Bryce is on the field. In Dalton's handful of games, attacked downfield at a rate Bryce Young just flat out doesn't do....and saw more production 20+ downfield in that tiny window last year than Bryce did on the season and getting most of the work. And I'm pretty sure in his handful of starts in Carolina, Dalton has more actual production 20+ yards than Bryce in his entire career, despite Bryce dominating starts the past 2+ years. Like not close.
