  1. Where in my post did you see behind the LoS? I said within 5 yards of the LoS. Sure the flat goes a bit further but if his check down is 8-10 yards down field and everyone else is covered further, that's a good gain. He threw the ball 30+ times 5+ yards past the los. He targeted RBs 10 total times. This isn't the same as his past performance.
  2. Fewer than half of Bryce's passes last game were within 5 yards of the LoS. May only have been 1/3rd even. He's guilty of what you say in many games but he was going down field much more last game. If a receiver is settling into a spot in zone coverage down field that isn't a check down...
  3. Bryce definitely has taken too many of them in his time at QB but there are times it's a good decision. I don't really see the point in harping about check downs yesterday though.
  4. Yes and often it's the right read. But he did far more beyond the sticks this game than usual
  5. I don't think deep in the fan sense matters much, honestly. I still think he needs to be able to consistently place passes well up to 20 yards and that's what is more critical. He did that yesterday - he was basically 7/11 on passes 15-25 yards and that's good enough that it also opens up passes all over the rest of the field. In week 10 he was 1/2 in that range; week 9 2/3 with an int; week 7 he was 0/4. Anyway we need more of that... He needs to be stressing defenses past the sticks for us to open up the rest of the offense.
  6. He definitely went thru his progressions yesterday and it did pay off. Of course he still had his misses... But a great game overall. Doesn't mean I want to hang onto him for what he's shown do far.
  7. I didn't say he would, lol. I said if he could. Look back at the end of last year - Same deal. He shows up every few games and executes. Need consistency at QB and he hasn't been it.
  8. He was much better in the 10-20 yard range than he's been lately. If he can consistently nail throws in that window the deep cahcnes will come and honestly it won't matter how well he does on them.
  9. Well regardless of that, he did only play 1 series in the second half. D was good against Cousins though, knocked some balls loose too.
  10. He's also alluded to the fact that the team isn't executing them in practice so he can't rely they can execute them in games.
  11. It is absurd, and frustrating. He's very young and I think that plays into some of it. The dome helps. And of course he does seem to have another gear he can turn on at moments. I don't understand why he doesn't always play with focus and intensity that allows him to make up for physical deficiencies. Like you said, we can't wait half seasons for decent play.
  12. They didn't have 2 drives in the 3rd. They only had 1 because the other was a turnover before the offense took the field. Penix was injured in the second drive (last play).
  13. He's playing for his Panthers future and the team's success this year. We are still, insanely, in the hunt for the division. One great game won't open up running lanes. SF will force him to do it again. Yesterday was a fun watch. If he can keep pulling off performances even close to that, I'll be happy. It only gets harder from here.
  14. I don't know why we'd throw away Bryce's first year when statistically it fits well with quite a few of his games this year and last, even when we're winning. I want to see extended success this year and I'll be happy to keep him (albeit with different people behind him, please!)
  15. Coker fought hard for yards yesterday... There was one play I hoped for him to get a first down but a lot of that is scheme and where balls are thrown. When an offense isn't stressing opponents deep is there's lots of people to gang tackle intermediate yardages. The problem most of the year with YAC has been how Bryce floats balls. It allows defenders to close. We've seen it time and again... But on the YAC discourse Bryce has pretty much half his yards this season from YAC which is pretty much spot on for the players with the most YAC. He's just thrown for very little because... Well yeah. Happy for him and his performance yesterday. Something to build on for sure
  16. Bryce's toughness has impressed. He's resilient for sure. Been one of his big strengths even when playing poorly. The combination yesterday was fantastic.
  17. He had already reinjured the ankle but yeah. Caused a turnover on downs because it happened on 4th and inches too
  18. Anyway some people mistake rooting for their favorite player on a team no matter what as the definition of fandom but that's not at all the case.
  19. Decided not to use AI for once?
  20. Frankly he's more likely to lose his job if we lose out and Bryce DOESNT turn into a pumpkin. If Bryce goes back to how he's been most of this year, Canales definitely comes back, so long as the team still fights hard.
  21. It does feel like the guys are believing. If they want to be winners, it takes efforts like today. I hope we never see another game like NO the rest of the season.
  22. at least he's looking down field, lol
  23. No kidding, now we see why Gabriel has been starting... Yuck
  24. Rams win, 61 yard fg is wide right... Wasted a little too much time on that drive IMO
  25. Something to be said for the fact that he just keeps coming back, lmao
