  1. Are you 100% certain this is the narrative you want to go with? That people were talking poo about Bryce in the thread? Who brought up Bryce here? Who started trolling first? Nobody had said anything negative about Bryce and in fact agreed with you that he appeared better than JJ! Then you had to go and start trolling fans about Stroud for obvious reasons.
  2. Dude. I like you and respect your contributions. But you went into a thread to randomly bitch about Stroud in a way to compare to Bryce. "Both sides" do it. And sometimes "haters" will say something like "x or y does well in spite of circumstances" and people jump in defending Bryce when his name isn't even used. Whether or not it is equal in trolling it is very clear both sides are doing it.
  3. So, objectively, you'd say from a holistic review of Rico's performance and the team overall there were at least a dozen players on the team that performed at least as well if not better in their roles?
  4. There are also posters that go into every thread period and bring up Bryce Young somehow in a positive light, regardless of context, quite often to knock other players (sometimes not even on our team). And we had a game day thread where every three posts someone would go "if only Bryce Young had made that tackle" or some crap.
  5. The Huddle has been worse absolutely but it also had more quality regular posters back then. I mean some of the most toxic threads were about Cam pre 2015 and circa 2017. Legitimate racist poo that mods had to periodically clean out (as I'm sure you remember heh). The old days had some great posters but it also had some really bad stuff. We also had weird characters, relatives, players posting, etc. Before social media became quite what it is now, the Huddle was a wild place.
  6. I don't think this is true. Certainly as someone people call a hater frequently, I would like nothing more than for BY to be our long term answer at QB. I just haven't seen that yet. I think most posters are actually quite in a similar place with BY - haven't seen enough yet and hope he shows us something this year. It's just a difference on what they think of his existing play to date, how much of it is his fault, etc.
  7. Tbf to that poster I thought you were advocating for getting rid of the stat. I generally don't see the point in worrying about whether a QB has GWDs or not. There was a time when Cam was shredding defenses, people called into question whether he was clutch or not because he didn't have enough GWDs. It was dumb then. I also think it's dumb to carry around Bryce's number of GWD without context. But then, there aren't many stats where Bryce is particularly impressive, so I get that, and he does seem at his best at the end of games. What he does well doesn't really show up on the stat sheet, and what he does poorly absolutely does, so this "stat" is in some ways his most impressive.
  8. Baker was fuging garbage here. Darnold was not in the end, but Darnold was also jettisoned after an incredible season in Minnesota, because they didn't believe he'd lead them over the hump. But Darnold and Baker both have physical tools BY just doesn't have.
  9. Definitely a bad decision on his part
  10. Did we find out if he actually called for the ball there? The fumble was also a really good punch by the Dallas defender
  11. So I don't know. 1/4 is 25% but sure let's say that grade doesn't matter and he gets a 6. But ... Dude makes history. Beats a team to a pulp. Carries an offense over and over. And his final grade is... Average? I just don't see it. Seems a fundamental flaw with the pff formula.
  12. Okay sure. An 82 rushing grade is, according to pff, bottom of a "good" tier. See below: So in the end Rico "I made history on Sunday" Dowdle has a 67 on the day. So he's on the high end of average. Not even above average. Just average. Now call me crazy or say I don't understand PFF, if you want. But I'd call Ricos rushing elite, and his overall play at minimum... Good.
  13. Have you consulted with PFF to ensure who was really the best player on the field?
  14. Alright but to say that he was only average on the game? Do you agree with that?
  15. Agreed 100%. I would say that over a season I generally agree with pff but game by game I don't. This is a case I just don't understand what their people say. And that is NOT meant to be a knock on Bryce.
  16. Wait how the heck does Bryce have an 82 if his highest subgrade in passing was only 78? What the fug haahaha
  17. Imo it isn't just that he was 10th best. It was that he was basically only average / above average overall at 67. His rushing was elite that game. Yes he had holes but he also had tons of yards after contact.
  18. A score in the 80s vs 90s is basically "good to great" vs "elite." I would argue that low 80s is lower than Rico deserves as i have trouble characterizing his rushing as less than elite yesterday. And still the idea that his overall score on the day was just "above average" is fuging insane and represents a problem with their scoring.
  19. Hey cool, we have the #1 rushing offense in the NFL by total yards! 3rd by YPG too, so... Pretty damn good.
  20. Is your argument that Bryce Young isn't good enough to take over a game, and so needs insane performances from superior players in order to shine?
  21. "Plays well" vs "near historic performance" are pretty different things. It's important to keep in mind the Cowboys passing defense is league worst and their run defense is nearly so, for sure. But one of those two players vastly outperformed what most other players have done versus the Cowboys and the other had fewer yards than typical (but still played very well imo, and did all we needed him to). Rico pretty much doubled up virtually every other single back that has played the Cowboys. So yeah I get why people would be surprised that Rico is so far down the list of O players.
  22. My concern is that if we move the goal posts from 10 to 15 yards he has generally looked much worse this year than last in aggregate. Prior to the last 2 weeks I think he only has 1 or 2 completions over 20 yards, and it wasn't much better 15+ yards. That said, the last 2 weeks are looking more like how he did the end of last year. If he can keep hitting enough passes 15-20 yards down field, it'll keep teams from stacking up too much vs our run game. To your point, the last 2 weeks he's something like 6/8 past 20 yards, with 2 TDs and an INT. The first month or so of the season I was saying I wanted to see him hitting more of those throws and I'm glad he's doing so. It's necessary if you're trying to pound the rock. I'm still skeptical he'll be able to do that against better teams but hoping he proves me wrong.
  23. 8 passes past 10 yards. 6 completions, 3 TDs. I'm fine with 8 passes out of 25 down field tbh. Edit: note that I do not think this is showing deliberate incompletions / throwing the ball away.
  24. I know it's a great grade, and I get how PFF does their grading, that's why I had said "still" in there, as in "despite that being a great grade it still feels low given his production and how he did it".
