I think in this case in the fourth quarter the game was clearly out of reach, so I agree. But I do think other times players will refuse to go out and you don't want to foster an atmosphere of giving up. But down 30... Yeah...

Canales is in most critical point of his tenure

There's very clear improvement in the team and coaching staff and hopefully we do see that built on thru the second half of the season -
I think TB probably wins our division but who knows. As to you guys, I think you still have a solid shot. I get the concern but you're still on top of your division now, and I wouldn't be surprised if that continues. You'll probably win 3 of 4 vs Vikings and Bears, beat NYG, and at least one of Philly, Denver, and Baltimore. I think the division may come down to the 2nd game vs the Lions.
-
Still lots of football to play. 5-2-1 isn't a bad place to be. I think you guys looked past us. I wouldn't be surprised if you beat Philly.
-
One of his handful of good games... If he can ever get to a consistently high level, then he'd change minds. As it is... Meh.
-
I mean Bryce could play well. He changed some minds late last year, but it appears it was an aberration based on his overall play this year.
-
Yeah for sure. We can't look past anyone because we are entirely reliant on Rico. Hopefully we can find something else to get going because we will need it. But the fact that we beat the bad teams we've played has me confident.
-
We did beat the Jets... It's possible this team is different.
-
Oh damn okay. For some reason I thought Evans was going to be back late in the year, but tbh I don't pay a ton of attention to our division rivals until we're up to play them.
-
I haven't looked when those two return, but I was expecting them to be back by our second game if not earlier. They're not out for the year, are they?
-
At some point Bryce is going to need to do more for us to have a shot there. We'll see how the season goes
-
Yup. Despite Darnolds success he's on another new team this year. It's easy to crown him in the regular season... And this is coming from a big supporter of his Honestly he looked decent enough at the end of his term here, too. Hindsight and all but I do wish we'd kept him.
-
I don't think so, I think if you swap the two QBs it's a blowout, haha. I like the Packers so hopefully you guys can bounce back and maybe we'll meet again in the playoffs (hah, seems unlikely but you never know!).
-
Ehh it's just one game. I think you guys looked past us. Love also made some real questionable decisions with the ball at times, and I think he's better than that.
-
Yup. It's so clear the coaching staff is finally in agreement with the huddle that Bryce just can't be the main engine that moves the offense.
-
I did too - surprising result. But we'll see how it goes. Real question is if this is just one game or a return to 'form'
-
We really got lucky with that signing and his emergence. He is our entire offense.
-
Darnold is so streaky, but I really hope he's put it all together. And I think he'd look great here. He is at his best when there's a strong run game that defenses have to stop.
-
Lots of great performances to acknowledge today, especially on D. Hats off to Moerhig
-
He definitely doesn't look like himself. I don't think he's as good as Rico at his peak but he just doesn't look like he has it right now at all.
-
Dalton absolutely. Bryce being able to move around and out of the pocket was a huge difference in preventing negative plays today. He still blows and is the worst "established starter" in the league, but he's better than Dalton. Mike White is harder to know...
-
If Rico was performing at an average RB level, I'd agree, but he's our entire offense and producing at a higher level than virtually anyone. He's showing real talent. Now I will say we may want to see if he survives the season since he seems injured practically every game.
-
For what it's worth, that investment in the OL is paying off. Despite massive injuries we are maintaining a functioning - even dangerous - rushing attack. Obviously we are in agreement on the passing O heh. But I'm glad to see the D having a game like this. It builds tons of confidence
-
I'm really impressed with Ricos patience too. He often finds something out of seemingly nothing
-
This is pretty great, lol
