  1. Fear comes from a lack of preparation and high consequence of failure. Confusion comes from a lack of understanding for whatever reason. Both can be corrected with good coaching. Good coaches, as we've seen, are creating mismatches on the field. They are making the job of the QB easier to a degree. Now sometimes, teams get out coached. It happens. Players suffer when they haven't been prepared for an opponent or without contingencies. For Darnold, it's going to be preparing game plans and teaching him what to do when the poo hits the fan. He's got the talent (though not the drawing mascot skills) to execute a game plan. Let's see how good our coaches are.
  2. After we traded for Darnold, I enders up watching both of O'Sullivan's videos posted here, along with several he did leading up to the draft. What I came away with was the Sam has talent, but the Jets fumbled it. Sure, Darnold bears responsibility for his plays, but he was not set up for success. He is still a young QB. So at the end of the day, he still has a lot of possibility to mold into a franchise QB. Like it or not, this is Joe Brady's HC audition year. If he can prove to be a QB whisperer with Darnold and turn his career around, we'll be looking for a new OC come the Spring. As a fan, I'd love to see Darnold succeed and become the answer we've been looking for since Cam got obliterated. If he crashes and burns, then we'll just have to keep trying to figure it out.
  3. I agree. I do expect the search to start pretty immediately if Darnold flames out. Will we find a franchise QB? That's a much more complicated and scary proposition... Getting a franchise QB is not easy!
  4. I think it's hilarious to see folks ready to string Darnold up after his first incomplete pass or interception. Like @rayzor said, he's basically a more advanced rookie, and should be held to a similar level of patience. That's why we picked up the 5th year, in my opinion. I'd love it if he "hit" here and we were able to finally have the answer to our QB-post Cam question. But if he doesn't, I'm sure Fit and Rhule will be looking for a QB until they find one. That's the nature of the NFL. As we also saw with the Chiefs, it doesn't matter what your record is, you can trade up in the draft for a guy you think is your franchise QB. Again, I hoping that this is the reset he needs, and I think Rhule knows what needs to be done. At this point in the offseason, let's all have some hope. We have time for crushing reality later this year!
  5. Another insightful pod! I appreciate it! It's going to be interesting to see how well our scouts did this year with the 4-7 rounds, as those are supposed to be where your scouts come to really show their evaluation skills.
  6. Huddle gonna Huddle... We specialize in over reacting and the worst hot takes
  7. Watch the whole first video. Brett Kallmann does a great job of breaking down the problems Horn had as a sophomore (when he was getting abused by AL), and how he changed things this year. Shows that he has the athletic traits, as well as the drive to get better. While I expect he will get beat from time to time, I think Horn has all the tools to be a true CB1 for years to come for us. If he can help get our Defense off the field a few more times...
  8. What an interesting thread. I kept meaning to read it, but work and being pithy in other forums =P I have been amazing at the market in Harrisburg (NC, not PA). We get 2-3 cold calls a week asking if we want to sell. We get weekly Opendoor emails and letters trying to entice us as well. It's nuts. Talking to my realtor friend, The 'Burg is just red hot right now. We have no intention of moving. Been there five years this month. So happy with our home. Managed to get new roof, windows and a tankless hot water heater with some help from a storm right after we moved in. Finally got the grass looking good... But someone offering $120k over what we paid, in some cases over $400,000...sheesh. That's tempting, except we couldn't afford a new place near where we are.

    FINISH HIM!!!

Man, I saw the intro section and was excited! How cool could this film have been. But then...well...yeah... I mean, I did stay up to 1am watching the movie. I enjoyed the extreme violence, which was fun. I wish they had done a better job with Cole. Things were still interesting until he showed up to Sonja's place. Then the wheels started falling off from a story standpoint. But Scorpion and Sub Zero was the best story in the film, and I wish it had been more central to the film.
  10. Speaking of things affecting draft stock and future success: age. https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/nfl-draft-success-by-age I thought it was an interesting article about relative performance by age. Makes me not want to look at kids over 22 until the mid rounds.
  11. Jokes aside, at the end of the day arm length is just a number. An attribute. In the draft, it's about finding the best player. Sometimes you can find a guy who has all the measurables and he turns into an all pro. Or a guy without who becomes a HoFer. Personally, I don't think it's something to dwell on. Either the guy can play or he can't. He's a people mover or a turnstile. I remember hearing from a scout at some point during some draft year about measurements being a confirmation of film. Like if a guy plays fast but runs a 4.6. Then that helps finish out an evaluation. Why did they perform this way?
  12. It's draft season. There might have been a few conversations, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Panthers are just seeing how much they can get for #8.
  13. I don't know why everyone get's caught up on a couple of inches, especially my wife! =0 I'll be here all week! Try the veal! (If it was only about numbers, Little would be an all pro...We've seen plenty of examples of guys without those ideal measurements be excellent players in the NFL.
  14. That would have been great! Giving the show room to breath and explore some of these other issues and characters would have been great. How cool would it have been to have an extended flashback sequence showing Karli coming back and how hard it was for her and her family?
  15. So I guess you didn't like the show much? LOL. To each their own I wish they could have made more room for Bucky because there were some great moments that didn't get the play they deserve. As far as your issues with race issues being addressed...That's up to the film makers. Don't like it, don't watch it you know. Show them with your wallet.
  16. I really liked the final episode. Sure, it's going to be quite polarizing, but Sam said what needed to be said. Was it pandering? Absolutely! But it was necessary in the world we live in. The truth of the matter is that his point about the hate was 100% true and accurate. It's a point that needs to be made, that needs to be heard. Of course, the culture warriors will rack this up to "ruining" their super heroes with politics or over stepping. I guess that's more of a discussion for the TB. This does set up a cool dynamic for Captain America 4 with Sam as the cap. I love that he took the title instead of waiting for someone else to give it to him. Functionally, the episode was a poo show of random stuff that was pulled together by Anthony Mack in the last 15 minutes. Poor direction. Lots of missed opportunities in the script. But for me, Sam in the suit did it for me. I can forgive a lot of garbage if I like certain parts enough. That's kind of been the way the show has run. Some of the low points drove me nuts, but the highs were great for me.
  17. Wouldn't all teams love to trade down, gather more picks and still get their "guy?" If someone makes a good enough offer, say moving to the teens and picking up a couple more picks, I imagine the Panthers will strongly entertain that offer. The NFL is a QB driven league, and if one or more of the top QBs start to fall, I can bet that people will be calling anyone from the Bengals to the Panthers to shake the tree.
  18. Lance is super interesting, but we need someone who can be an immediate impact. Fields is in another tier of guy. Fields - wait until last second and see who wants to sell the farm then turn in the pick. Lance - I'm 50/50 on him... I'd still say go for the best guy on the board.
  19. Honestly, who cares? Teddy is not thrilled. The team just traded for his replacement. I don't see a problem with him being himself. At this point, Teddy knows he's not going to get a fair shake. Teddy also got paid a ton of money for a season basically. If he get's cut, he still gets paid. I don't feel bad for him one bit.
  20. I'll say this, Anthony Mackie has been great this series. Just wonderful as Sam trying to figure out that HE is the Captain America everyone needs. As for Walker, I saw an article about how he's not just trying to navigate Wyatt's way out of the shadows of greatness, but his own since his parents are Hollywood Royalty (Kurt Russle and Goldie Hawn). I never thought about that I just hate that Sam and Bucky had to fight the Wakandians. It seemed really out of character for them to jump in against them. I'd rather they have joined Zemo on the exit from the room.
  21. I really don't get the hate on DJ? He's getting better and better each year. He's always a threat when the ball is in his hands, but last year when his number was called, he answered. Now it doesn't help when Teddy wasn't throwing the ball over five yards beyond the line of scrimmage. Is he a top 10 WR? Maybe? Is he worth a 2nd contract? Yes. He's a very talented WR. I kind of am over the whole "top 10" listicles non sense. I think if we get a QB who is willing to give play makers a chance, we'll start to see more from him next season.
  22. Ok, so I've been a little meh over the game. I've been playing it on game pass, and I love it!!! It's just fun. The gameplay is actually fun. The story is appropriately cheesy, and knows it! I regret ever thinking anything bad about the game!
  23. Got to love the poo posting here. I do think some posters here will never be happy, even if we win a Super Bowl... Now with Darnold? Who knows. It's a gamble. He was the #3 pick over all three years ago. He's got talent. He's made some nice looking plays. We all know the Jets were a dumpster fire. We also know that about half the first round QBs don't pan out historically. Giving up a 6th rounder and next years 2nd and 4th rounder will be a good deal if he's even able to be a top 15 QB. We also don't know enough about our new GM and the draft to know if he's going to make those picks count, or if we'll be hollaring for Hurney Magic again. It's a development, but we'll have to see if it becomes a good one or a poo one.
  24. I was a little meh about this episode. I hated Sam's disguise, and the fact he left his phone on...rookie move! Sharon Carter was cool and all, but the episode didn't seem to solve a lot of issues other than killing of the scientist who re-made the super soldier formula. Though seeing Walker lose his poo with "Do you know who I am?" was pretty awesome for his character set up. It didn't seem really tied together. Like instead of written this way, it was edited into this episode. Personally, I was hoping that we'd see Sam start to assume the mantle of Captain America more and more. Not much this episode. Hopefully episode 4 will help things out.
