It crossed the line of acceptability. They still acted like Pros but they have their careers to protect too. It's wild how far all of that has gotten out of hand and yet there is still pressure to prove Bryce wasn't cratering out there. The Pathers are a trainwreck and the media gets a buffet of entertaining material to laugh about. None of thr people saying Bryce is fine has watched those 2 games.

He was the starter on Sunday night and benched on Monday. They can't trade him or do anything until they see everything without him. With the known tendencies and criticisms out there just saying he is a bust isn't good enough even if the tape doesn't lie. I can't image the locker room would be cool with more of him at his first 2 games.
-
At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?

Yup. There where guys here fight8ng the mania but I didn't feel like wasting time on it either. Just read, drop a pie or beer for support and save so many water minuets of bickering with people foaming at the mouth. -
Run the ball and Andy will be fine. I just don't want to see him hurt or any of Bryce.

Benching Young is the right call whoever pushed for it. It should have already happened last year. They need to get someone better than Plumber to bring in. The optics stink but they were going to get kicked for something as the perineal garbage fire anyways. Young has been the worst part of the team this year and it's not close. Young working harder to get a trade then he did to improve his game says it all.

Another post-mortem of Bryce in Charlotte

Everything up to when he was drafted was practice and play time. The NFL is a big business with big talent. His attitude has been the biggest surprise for me. I saw how much talent he had when people were raving about him and play that didn't match the film I saw. He was supposed to be a stand up guy but he honestly seems like a pouty little spoiled bitch. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually believes it's everyone else...while players keep coming out about how excited they are to show what they can do with Dalton. IDK but it's looking like that. -
It's both. He can't see enough and he isn't talented enough to do what the other short QBs could. On his first interception he never saw the safety that picked him off. Also the film breakdown shows him having to jump to be able to throw over thr line. It's both.

Mac Jones and Pickett are better comparisons and they are both more talented QBs. He is a bust and if he keeps up his attitude he won't even be a backup because he is going to have to put in tons of work to just hit that level.

Both 1st games each season he threw a bad pick and I personally think those broke him as much as the NFL level hits. He realized early that he has no magic at this level. He looked like a beat dog after this year's first pick and that was without a hit. -
Sign Lewis, keep Bozeman, keep Corbett at RG and draft an OG/C. Hunt is good but they could have spent that on the D and been in a better place. I need to see that line with functional QB play. We haven't seen much because the O had so little first downs in not garbage time. Health is my current concern for that unit. I also think it's going to be hard to keep Moton going forward.

You see the criticism for drafting a guy with all the physical tools but lacking the mental side often. That's a situation you hope to be able to address through coaching and time so it'sunderstandable to take that leap. With Young there was never enough there to build up. I want to see him someplace like Miami so it can be confirmed. Teams should not be drafting limited tools guys in the first. Even Picket had better tools and he was a questionable later round 1st pick. Mac Jones had better tools and he was a questionable mid 1st pick. Coaches and front offices need to be prepared to draft a guy and build him up because there are not enough Strouds coming out. -
He got creamed too much but actually didn't have a bad average time to throw. 2.89 I belive. Some of that was on him too just like on Sunday

J Russel got drug by most pre draft but the Raiders still took him on sheer athletic ability...and stupidity and everyone knew it. He played and won more games. That's freaking insane. Russel was like 300 lbs at one point. I would say a lot more people saw that coming than this one.
-
Didn't Mac Jones start and play in their last championship?
-
I saw people not wanting to compare him to J Russel because Russel was so lazy so they glossed over it. It's just he doesn't have enough tools. It's not school and it's so much harder. I think he really is the biggest bust ever. He has been record breaking bad. I wish they would just stop sticking a mic in his face and accept when he apparently already has.
-
I know but he still has some positives. There are not many people in this team that don't have a lot to prove and work on.
-
This isn't a team that's going to have a magical turnaround and he was brought in to give Young more help which is a moot point now even if it's going to take time for the crowd to catch up. At this point get draft capital and play the young guys. I didn't like the idea of signing him long-term yet and I did want to see how he looked when the D wasn't having it's way with Young's brain. People rave about him but he is already in his 6th year and only had 1x1000 yard+ season. I get his upside because it's there but he is also in a contract year on a team that didn't make it 3 games before imploding. For the right price I don't know how they can say no to a good offer for him.

Bill Barnwell defends Bryce's benching with some horrific stats

.2 QBR throwing over 15 plus yards. That is so bad. Sub Clausen and people still act like he is going to turn it around. Darnold and Baker were never that bad. -
I don't think the D is good but how bad is it really? The first game was obviously bad but how can they recover when the O is crapping the bed constantly? The second game they showed some issues and some improvements. I agree on the Raiders approach. I can't tell much from the O side because it was so bottlenecked around crap QB play. There might be a few surprises for us all. The one big positive from Dalton is he will speak up and know what he is looking at.

It's so hard to evaluate anything but ST in the first 2 games IMO. All I want to see is guys getting a decent chance to prove themselves.

I'm just glad DM waited on Diontae's contract. I'm still not convinced he is worth what he is asking for. Everyone has been getting open because the Ds have known where it's not going. They have also been covered when they knew where it was going. Really not sure what to expect with competent QB play.
