  1. Retire, it's the face saving move. Health issues, family matters or just time to run away after dropping a shart in the high-rise elevator in rush hour...
  2. He is going to make what someone wants to pay him so let him find a trade partner and he would take whatever they are offering or not. Same as franchising him and letting him seek a partner at the end of the year, it helps the player re-adjust their values or they find a new sucker. It's not new territory at all. Eating some cap from a contract someone wants to dump works if we can eat the dead cap this year and free it up at the end of the year for free agents. Worst case he walks and the Panthers get a 3rd comp pick, that is what the floor is with Burns now and it might happen with the way this is going so a late 1st isn't looking too bad. He thinks his value is much more than it should be so let the market dictate that to him since this team failed so miserably in handling this situation.
  3. That's because they trade what they did for Young now we have no choice but looking to a retread like Dalton...
  4. A 1st and some change would be expected, it's on the person in charge to get the best deal from there. A top 10 rusher still gets paid, just not that sexy Bosa money. Let him seek a trade and whatever best deal they can find is what he will be paid. You are being obtuse intentionally. It's going to be less for him and the team unless the team caves. The Panthers could also take a player to eat some of the trading teams dead cap. It's difficult to talk options and possibilities when the people in charges would just waste anything done. I couldn't talk serious team building with any of the decision makers in place now so having draft capital and new people would be the best options moving forward next year.
  5. And now we have Dalton which is like being back at Teddy with no hope of a good answer other than finding a Purdy... The strategy works if you don't have failures making the moves. If you have failures in charge than any moves will still result in failures. That's why they are failing again this year...
  6. A good team that needs a pass rusher would pay that because it would be worth it to them. KC has done it. The Rams way overcompensated and were saved by us. You are just floundering and trying to revert to a logic discussions and not the discussion you were 100% wrong about this season and are now grasping.
  7. Burns should net more than a 1st but that's all you can really talk about until the new trade value is revealed. QB, HB, WR, OL, DL, LB or CB are all needs. You act like Burns would be the only hole if we traded him. This is a bad team, draft who you can and bring in some prove it FAs. It's also not saving on cap space but spending elsewhere. Those are 2 deferent things and you know it. Case in point, we could have spent multiple 1st and a starting WR elsewhere by just going Dalton.
  8. Of just have the balls to say 'No, I'm not playing there'. In this case only Bear's fans and NFL execs would object.
  9. They are getting 1 or 2 QBs in the top 5 this year... Yeah that is still a terrible move
  10. There are no easy answers. Someone has to step up and at the end of either options this will still not be a good team but one has the chance to pick a 1st level talent and have the room for a good FA or 2 with Burns being elsewhere. I would take option 2 every time given Burn's value on the field vs what he wants and will be paid. It's not just a draft pick but also room to sing free agents along with the picks trading away Burns gives in value.
  11. Take what you can because Burns isn't a foundational piece and he never was. Good passrusher and not much else.
  12. I feel like there was someone making fun of the people freaking out on the Titanic by saying things like 'it's unsinkable, you people are just panicking' even as they were treading water before they could turn into an ice cube. A turd is always a turd. In this case a turd picked a turd who in turn picked a turd. There may be a few more turds in that line but the point stands.
  13. True but Dalton is cheap with no commitment, the Saints were a good team on the decline and we were a bad team looking for a turnaround. Figure out a way to win with Dalton and then you can talk better. Rhule burned that option down while overpaying 3 times so it wasn't on the table for these fools. I don't even think it's about salvaging the season as much as CYA because Young looks really bad and his ability to read Ds isn't helping him nearly as much as they projected. I think they are 100% in damage control and hoping they are given an out...which would be IR for Young at best. Even winning with Dalton wouldn't make Young look any better because Young's problems need to be fixed on the field and not on the sidelines. He isn't a project QB, he is a QB that needs to figure out how to overcome his deficiencies in a way he didn't back in school at that level of competition. The sitting him thing only delays the inevitable. He plays or it's a fail situation. He was the most pro-ready QB in the draft and pre-season but now he needs time to figure out the game? BS
  14. We could have just signed Dalton and saved 2 1st and a WR. Dalton at 36 has more upside and looks to have a longer career in front of him... QB whisperer HC looks like it's time for the retirement home buddy
  15. Players they should trade: Burns, Chinn, Young, TMJ, Jackson, Shaq and Horn. Burns should net a 1st+ and the rest are not worth building around, get what you can while you can. If you can't trade them and they are not on a rookie deal then just cut them and get it over with. None of those guys are quality building blocks and they can all be replaced by FAs laying around every year. Keep Brown and Ickey. Those are the only 2 of good value and use moving forward. The rest is meh to fug off level players here.
  16. The Tepper tank. End up with a top pick and pissed it away already. As classy as ketchup on a great steak...
  17. Unless he turns this around a 2nd year doesn't improve the fact he is a terrible playcaller and his scheme is arse. If Young keeps looking like trash then he has zero reasons for a 2nd year. Go ahaed and just fire Fritz soon because that is the first person that needs to be fired if you want any meaningful change this offseason. New GM and then pick a new HC. Also throw Suleiman out with the other trash because he is also part of this teams problems.
  18. Maybe. Honestly just playing Dalton can keep them out of the top 3 but then they have the BY issue/reality to deal with next year. No idea what these people will do but I doubt it will be better than a to 5 pick.
  19. It happens. I don't have any 'projecting hope' left in me and haven't since Rhule's 2nd year started.
  20. It looked like he was just concerned about the weigh in and not the reality of what he was really going to face. It jives with the preseason approach and thinking a rookie QB is fine if you don't establish the run or even use the more effecting RB after the first game.
  21. Sub average arm and physical talent. Not a good combo for a guy who has to make space to throw because he is little.
  22. It was always a case that doing anything other than water weight would hurt his value. Good agent and meh prospect. People still don't want to admit he is as limited as he clearly is on the field.
  23. People Keep comparing Bryce to people who are good but he looks like a Lance inverse. Same difference except one went to a playoff team with a good coach and the other went to a bottom dweller and a coach failing again. He absolutely skipped the explosive drills for a reason and it's the reason he can't Murray or Tua it on gameday.
