  1. You are incorrect. They grade each player and each play on an individual basis regardless if they were the target or not. So if DJ made a good release, had great separation, and got open 30 yards downfield, he would have received a positive grade on the play. On that same play, Teddy would have received a negative grade for not throwing it to DJ (If he had the time to make it to that progression). The fact that he wasn't targeted does not hurt on the above example. HOWEVER, if he were targeted, his grade could go up depending on if he caught it, he made a great catch from a bad throw, he got great YAC, or scored a TD. His grade on the play would most likely stay the same if he just caught it and didn't do anything. His grade on the play would go down if he dropped it, caught it and ran backwards, or he fumbled. So, I will say that Teddy not targeting DJ most likely negatively impacted his overall grade, but not necessarily in the way that people think. Teddy didn't make DJ look worse, Teddy just didn't let DJ look as good as he could have. And I think we can all agree on that.
  2. Who throws the ball has nothing to do with how PFF grades receivers. It's based on a play by play and individual basis, and graded on if the receiver had a positive play, a negative play, or a neutral play. If DJ had to make a dope ass catch because Teddy threw it like crap, he would be rewarded. Adams was the best WR in the league this year. His route running is Elite and he caught anything thrown near him. DJ's routes are OK, and he did fine but Adams was a monster all year.
  3. Brown has above average speed. Ginn has elite speed. Both have their contributions for the offense and I don't see them taking a spot from the other.
  4. A few days before the draft I was at the Arboretum Harris Teeter and saw him at the pharmacy. He was wearing a panther shirt and panther athletic shorts. I stopped dead in my tracks because I've never seen a panther player or coach around town before and my wife was pestering me like "What? What's wrong? Who's that?" So I tell her "I Think That's Ricky Proehl, the WR coach for the panthers" So my wife being the bubbly, upbeat and social person she is says "You should go say hi" And I said "No, I don't want to disturb him" So she shouts out "Ricky! Ricky Ross!" So I shushed her and ushered her away before she embarrassed me in front of Ricky Proehl. And that's the day I narrowly avoided social interaction with Ricky Proehl at Harris Teeter.
  5. we beat the broncos in the Super Bowl with a better offensive Gameplan, not by adding more players to the mix. Prevent Remmers from being on an island with Miller, stop running up the gut every first down, and run more read option to keep the edge rushers honest. Also not turning the ball over would help tremendously. I truly felt that we were the better overall team, we just didn't play like it that day.
  6. They are cheaper and can grow into their roles. Gettleman Tagged Norman in order to try and work out a long term deal. From everything I have gathered, GMan came at Norman's agent with 10 mil per year first off, and wanted to negotiate. The Agent came back with 16. Gettleman came back with 11, agent came back with 16. Gettleman said I am not doing 16, and the Agent said, that's fine, we'll hold out but we're getting 16. Then Gettleman said, that's cool, but you'll get it somewhere else. Queue Norman finding out, trying to sign the original franchise tag offer because he didn't really want to leave or hold out, but the Agent fudged up so hard that it was no longer possible. Norman was not able to fire his agent due to league rules so he hired a second dude to negotiate his next contract and told the first guy to take a backseat and shut the fudge up. This lead to Norman getting a crap ton of money from the skins. So Norman got his money (at the price of familiarity and comfort) and we got 14 million to spend on other players (at the expense of our all-pro corner). No one knows who made the right call, but the way our scheme is built, Corners like Norman wants to be aren't meant to be paid 14 million because they aren't as important as the DL and LBers. You don't need a lockdown guy in our scheme. You need multiple guys that know how to play zone. Hopefully these guys we drafted can do it.
  7. One thing people arguing about Hurney and Gettleman and BPA strategy are forgetting is the following: BPA for Hurney ≠ BPA for Gettleman. Two different GMs, two different scouting companies, two different backgrounds, two different ways in constructing a draft board. I truly believe that Hurney believed he was taking the BPA based on the board they put together. Now was that necessarily the case after round one? Hell no, hardly ever. But it's who they had rated highest in a position that required depth and or an immediate need so they pounced. I trust Gettleman far more than I do Hurney when it comes to picking BPA, because he was a scout and has a better eye for talent overall than Hurney ever did. Props to Hurney for getting the first round right year after year, but after the first he was just not good at identifying the best available talent.
  8. Point 2 if - Johnson doesn't take a pay cut he's gone. The stuff about his relationship with Richardson is irrelevant considering Gettleman already axed Smitty, who Richardson loved. Gettleman trims fat and it got us to a super bowl.
  9. I don't think Jared Allen is as bad as you people seem to think he is. Sure he isn't the same Jared Allen as 3 years ago, but he still gets consistent pressure and is great against the run. Do you guys not remember the beginning of the game last week where Johnson was getting solid runs? They eventually had to abandon it because we went up so much, and even then he lead the team in catches. Anderson and Hillman are no slouches, so I think it'd be a great thing to have Allen out there for the Ship.
  10. As of this thread's creation, the Panthers are 5-2 in home games that I have been to in my life. Giving me the tickets will only increase the odds that the Panthers win. I <3 the panthers and they <3 playing for me.
  11. The douche didn't want to draft Cam or Luke but he did say that Nicks could kick rocks.
  12. What a whiny dumbass. Offense scored 500 points this year. Pshh... The answer was on the roster... Duh.
  13. Well I know for a FACT that one of them was Stephanie from 3rd period geometry class during Scary Movie 3, but that's the only one I have first hand knowledge of...
  14. Fun story: My English Teacher senior year was Ms. Johnson. She had a lazy eye, was very southern baptist, and very eccentric. The topic of guns came up one day and she was obviously, a very firm believer in the second amendment. In fact, she informed us that she goes skeeet shooting on a regular basis. Now, keep in mind this was 2006 so the term "skeeet" had recently become a common phrase to suburban white kids (Thank you Dave Chappelle). At the mention of the word "skeeet" numerous giggles were heard throughout the classroom. Ms. Johnson got a clueless grin and asked "Now what is so funny about shooting skeeet?" Giggles. That's when this funny black kid named Marquis piped up "You seriously shoot skeeet Ms. Johnson?" More Giggling "Well of course Marquis, why is that so hard to believe?" "I don't know Ms. J, it's just you don't seem like the kind of person that would physically be able to shoot skeeet" Giggling intensifies "What makes you think I can't Shoot skeeet Marquis?" "I had no idea that women could even shoot skeeet!" Giggles turn into laughter "Of COURSE I shoot skeeet! My Daddy taught me when I was a girl!" Laughter all around the classroom "Hold up, your DAD taught you how to shoot skeeet?!" "OF COURSE! I shoot skeeet, daddy shoots skeeet, my sisters shoot skeeet, even my mommy shoots skeeet from time to time!" "So you're telling me that your entire family goes out and just shoots skeeet together?!" "Yup, we love it, it's a great family activity!" At this point I and many others were falling out of our chairs laughing at the absurdity in how clueless she truly was. She just seemed so dumbfounded that a bunch of teenagers couldn't believe she had the ability to shoot a gun. Good times. *edit, apparently Sk33t is blocked on this site, hence the added 'e' throughout the post. who'da thunk it?
  15. We've already established that you're OBJ When you have to tell everyone how awesome you are, you probably aren't that awesome to begin with. *poke poke*
  16. My favorite part is how he thinks people lost respect for Philly over this.
  17. Hey Man, I tried. PhillyB is the Norman to your Beckham. I'm trying to step in and give you some perspective before you do something stupid and get yourself suspended... Er... Banned.
  18. *Proves his dick isn't as small as a stranger on the internet says it is *Proceeds to flop it around in front of everyone demanding an apology. Dude, honestly, I was inclined to believe you from the beginning because you had more "proof" on this whole thing than Philly, but the way you have handled it just screams insecurity. The biggest problem is, you don't even realize how childishly you are handling the whole thing. You are the one pouting that you aren't getting an apology. Philly is brushing this off as so unimportant that he can't be bothered to give you the time of day. And the worst part? It's bothering you SO MUCH, that you won't drop the fact he hasn't apologized to you as you keep pounding your chest over how huge your junk is. You are making yourself look worse and worse. All kidding aside, dude I get it, you feel slighted, but it isn't that big a deal, just drop it, make a mental note to yourself that you got a scoop over Philly, and move on. You don't need to be validated by him or anyone else on the board, but you keep striving for it and it's just sad.
  19. BWood (15) has a history of attention seeking and making grandiose claims only for them to fall flat and or be disproved so no one took him seriously. More of a Boy who cried wolf kind of deal and people don't want to encourage him doing it more so they aren't giving him props. It also seems to bother the poo out of him so it's an easy way for people to get his goat.
  20. No it's not. He owe's you nothing because this is the internet and people talk poo all the time. The fact that you have taken this as a personal slight and expect to be validated with a response and apology just makes you look desperate for internet respect... Which is pointless and kind of sad man. It's why, even though you might be right about the maybebaby, you look like the guy with egg on his face in this thread. Basically, Philly made a joke about your dick and you whipped it out and tried to turn it into a measuring contest. Sure yours might be bigger, but at the end of the day, you're the one holding your dick in front of a room full of dudes. I'm just trying to give you alternative perspective.
  21. Dude... Get over yourself man... It's just a message board... It really doesn't matter who's wrong or right about Cam's Maybebaby... You're acting like it's your job to post rumors online. You care more about being right than anything else. It's the same crap as Luke's concussion all over again. Being right does not make you a "man" or improve your self worth. Not shitposting all over the internet is a better look. Just chill, you look unstable.
