Mahomes' playstyle is not what you want your rookie QB doing. Cross body, cross field throws while backpedaling is normally bad news. He just has a crazy strong arm and can make it work where others have failed. I don't think Young does as much of that stuff though, it's more evading pressure and extending plays to make the read.

Young's deep ball is legit! He kind of whips his body into it and launches it.

You want Young playing WR or Smith playing QB? I’d advise against either.

Do you think that can translate to the next level with faster LBs and DL, smarter DCs etc? Mahomes gets away with it due to his arm strength which is a good bit better than Young's. If you do then yeah he could be a fun pick.

Who was the best defense he played last year? Serious question.

What was the best SEC defense he played last year and where do they rank as a defense in the NCAA? The SEC had some good offenses, but it seemed like a down year for defenses…. I’m a SEC fan, but would argue the Big10 had the tougher defenses and of course weather conditions this year. -
He is definitely tough for his size and as weird as it sounds he takes hits well. He seems to kind of give himself up and absorb the blows. I just hope he can do that with NFL players hitting him without any issues...

Alabama's TE and MLB are some other players we might be interested in. There should be a lot of talent in the building for our staff to also check out while they are flirting with Young.

Panthers are taking Stroud, and Houston knows it

You only trade to 2 if your are confident in BOTH players. If they are ranked pretty even you acquire extra draft capital and take whichever Houston doesn’t want. If we think option B plus the extra pick out weighs option A then you make the trade. You are right though, we better not assume we know who Houston would take at 1. -
Love it! He is having fun, keeping it loose! I hope our QB has the same demeanor and skillset at Burrow. It’s definitely working for him.

The only way I see that happening is if we trade down which I doubt happens. Stroud/Young are the franchise guys and AR/Levis are the high ceiling gambles.

Yeah you probably have to keep Young in shotgun. He does have decent vision for his size though. I’ll give him that.
