5 yards a carry is great IMO opinion because we are talking an average of 2nd and 5, which means the defense can't sit solely on the pass or run. I understand 5 is an average and not all carries are going to be that, but he definitely had better runs than Chuba. When we have Chuba running the ball for 1 or 2 yards and getting stuck in 2nd and 8 or 3rd and 6, we have to pass - which as we saw was the nail in the coffin for us with Dalton back there. The only 2 drives in the game where we had a legit chance of scoring (before garbage time) was the drive we scored a FG on and the drive Andy took the inexcusable sack on to cost us points. No coincidence that the RB on the field those drives was Rico (who pretty much picked up 5+ yards every carry outside of that goofy direct snap play). It really needs to be a 2-to-1 ratio of snaps in favor of Rico going forward (unless Chuba gets better). I don't care if we are paying Chuba more. Other teams have had no problem benching the guy being paid more if the other player is doing better - just look at the Falcons and them starting Penix over Cousins like 6 games into his rookie season.

As good as Allen is, I don't think he played particularly well yesterday. At some point after Cook gets his 10th carry of 10+ yards in the game, I would probably worry more about that... Truly an awful job by our team setting the edge and breaking free from blocks that game. Hoping that it was an outlier game for them, because they have otherwise been good with their run D and staying in their gap (outside of maybe the JAX game)

Buffalo sure seemed to have no problem being successful running the same toss play against us... And Rico had no problem picking up at least 5 yards each carry, even against a stacked box

I will say.... I think the one thing most of the huddle has agreed on is that DC is a terrible coach. I haven't really seen anyone defend him and rightfully so

I can only imagine how much dead cap we would take on if we traded Chuba...

We aren't going anywhere, so I would have no problem with trading Rico away. I doubt we sign.him long-term after this year since we already have Chuba locked up, so might as well see if a team will toss us a 4th or 5th for him. I'm honestly kind of surprised he hasn't demanded a trade yet with how little our coaching staff wants him on the field

Yeah, I was pretty checked out also and just talking to fellow Panthers fans at our game watch also. But it seemed like Chuba's left shoulder was pretty much in front of Dalton's right hand. It was a very weird alignment and don't know what the hell was going on with that play

While that snap wasn't good, I really don't understand why Chuba is lined up where he is. The snap was a little off center to the right, but it wasn't egregiously bad. With the position that Chuba lined up in, I am kind of curious if it was actually meant to be a direct snap to him. And while the play from our linebackers wasn't good, our edge personnel did a spectacularly terrible job at playing contain. How they didn't learn after the 15th toss play that went for another 10+ yards is mind boggling.... Unfortunately it was the worst possible time to play the bills. They were off a bye week, had a lost 2 in a row, and we were stuck having to play a geriatric QB because Bryce got hurt

Not in the least bit - the surprising thing is we somehow beat the dolphins and cowboys

They aren't even equals... Chuba is still doubling Rico in number of snaps played
