I LOVE YOU DERRICK BROWN
I’d pay Brown b4 thinking of paying Burns. This guy is a centerpiece of our D.

CBS is reporting that Michigan is putting together an insanely high contract extension to keep him there. I can’t wait to hear the numbers
Looks like the annual Harbaugh shuffle is in full swing. They’re not going to wait for him to entertain NFL offers this go round it seems.

The OL personnel aren't the problem. They were arguably the best line we'd had last year.
The offense was changed to a zone blocking scheme that didn't fit their skill set, especially from center left. Corbett and Moton could do it. If he were healthy, Christensen could probably do it. Everybody else? Not so much.
The only thing I'd recommend with the O-Line is to move Ekwonu inside to left guard. He's much better suited there for going to keep a pass heavy scheme like this. Also more ideal to have a really strong interior line if you have a shorter quarterback.
Yes, that'd leave us needing a left tackle (again) unless the team believes Christensen can handle that job.
I’d like to see us pursue David Bakhtiari out of Green Bay in FA as his future there looks to be in doubt. At 32 he’s got enough experience and familiarity with Campen (if he’s still here) to man the LT spot for a few years. This way we can move Ickey to LG and search for a viable replacement @ LT in the upcoming draft.
At this point Christensen is a good backup and provides OL depth. Not sure what we should do with Bozeman.

Super processor my ass
While the “super processor“ trait has been well overhyed, this kid has been setup to fail from jump based on the article. What Young has been tasked with is impossible for any rookie QB no matter how talented or intelligent you are.

Reich, Fitterer and the offensive coaches decided the priority before Young’s first season was preparing him to call plays in the huddle for the first time and giving him time to absorb a playbook that blended Reich’s system with wide zone concepts Brown bought from the Los Angeles Rams. Any tweaks or changes the Panthers wanted to make to Young’s mechanics would wait until the offseason.
Anyone else find that last sentence at least mildly disturbing? Why would they wait until the next offseason to fix what has obviously been a major flaw in his game? I always felt we should have “redshirted” Young the way the Chiefs did Mahomes his first year, and this just proves Reich and offense staff have mismanaged his development.

New coach, same results.
Meanwhile our former interim coach has damn near suffocated the best team in the league in the NFCCG rematch.

LOL how do you continue to not cover #13 LOL
Fun fact: Evans has scored 11 TDs against the Panthers, most against any team.

Move Ickey to guard and draft a tackle.
I’ve been saying Ickey should’ve been moved to LG since we drafted him. Premature starting at him @ LT with Christensen being a better suited player at that position. Got the NCST fans fired up by the proof is in the pudding.

This seems to be another Tepper shortcoming: too much reliance on analytics when good old fashioned common sense is needed.

I’m slightly intrigued by Frank Smith. Dynamic play caller of one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL, with a QB of similar pedigree and physical limitations and experience coaching different offensive units in New Orleans and Los Angeles Chargers. Worked his way up through the ranks and certainly earned his stripes. He’d be worth looking at for sure.

As he should. This fiasco is ultimately his fault. The team has been mismanaged from the beginning of his ownership with no clear end in sight.

Thats some insanely pitiful tackling on that Dallas TD run
In fairness it’s hard to tackle when you’re being held.

Unbelievable….we get called for defensive holding with all kind of holding that helped them score SMDH

It makes absolutely zero sense to let Reich go during the season. None. There is nothing to be gained. None of the candidates who we might want to talk to are available.
If you're cleaning house, it does make some sense to show Fitts the door. You can start that search now, you can take your time and do it right. Maybe even hire consultants and get out of the way if you're Tepper.
Then when it's time to hire a coach, you have a new GM in place and can bring in other consultants to help the GM bring in the new HC.
I agree with everything you wrote. What if Frank is no longer motivated to stick it out? What if problem could be Frank’s heart is no longer in it? When you listen to his press conferences and check his demeanor on the sidelines, not to mention the in-game errors that a veteran coach shouldn’t be making, it just seems that something is definitely off.
If there’s rising tension between the owner and HC, and Tepper is not known for being patient with HC’s, a parting of the ways sooner rather than later might be an eventuality.

I really don’t think the OL has much to do with his overall footwork
The game is moving way too fast, he’s processing slow and he’s becoming scared/hesitant. His footwork will improve if his processing time speeds up and he begins to trust what he sees. Right now it’s all a mess and imo it starts with his brain
Ironic since his “processing” was supposed to be a major asset. Just goes to show you can’t expect a rookie to be a savior, especially with so little help on offense.

So the Panthers drafted a QB to run an offense with personnel they don't have and gave up the resources to build around him well. Makes perfect sense.
Yup that seems to be the Panthers’ way. Square peg meet round hole.

No sources, just speculation based on New England possibly cleaning house this offseason and O'Brien's relationship with Bryce from Alabama.
NE’s offense is nothing to write home about either. May have more to do with Mac Jones’ struggles and BB’s days for retirement drawing closer. I’d hate it for Thomas Brown if this were to happen.

Related: Is this the guy from UNC?
Wow….there’s a surprise. Had a good rookie season but apparently fell out of favor with the emergence of Hall. Hope we at least kick the tires on him.

They also released Deonte Brown aka “Big Bread” from the practice squad. Another failed draft pick by the prior regime.

The football I watched, was all higher quality viewing than a Panthers telecast. Not even close. I am not seeking out the Jets and Raiders, but watched Commanders/Seahawks, Texans/Bengals, Falcons/Cards, I think that was it.
Even Falcons Cards, which was the closest.
Oh, Saints/Minnesota too. Even Jameis. Especially the Dobbs kid.
Felt real good watching a whole afternoon of professional football for a change, without being in a bad mood afterwards due to the ineptitude that is the Carolina Panthers.
It was good while it lasted….next up: the Dallas Cowboys- 1

Yup this organization is a real clusterfug and NOBODY wants to be here. You can tell by what’s happening on the field.
