  1. I've been playing on the EA Play thing on PC. It's a solid game. The run game feels much better because the blocking AI is noticeably better than previous years. Robby and DJ are absolute beasts in the game. Players gain temporary stat boosts based on their play and events that can happen. They both became superstars in my Panthers franchise and are at 93 and 92 overall in the NFC Championship game . Tommy Tremble is also a beast in game.
  2. Why not have an accurate kicker with a smaller leg? You can just go for it on 4th and short where the FG would be 50-60 yards anyways.
  3. Maybe the list of finalists is intentionally bad, so that the permanent WFT name is an easier sell.
  4. It's weird that any team would trade for Little. Even a 7th. If he can't cut it on this roster, how is he going to make it anywhere else?
  5. Not in any meaningful way, no.
  6. Grier will probably make every cut but the last one, because he's needed as a camp arm.
  7. Unfortunately, I only had access to the Colts broadcast via NFL Network. The bright side is, there's no way Smitty (or anyone else for that matter) is worse than the Colts color commentator.
  8. PJ is good enough to be the 2 for now. I don't know why we're worried about the backup when we don't even know if our starter is any good.
  9. That's fair, but I'm not trying to slight Chuba. The play he busted off should have been stuffed in the backfield, because the blocking was not there. And yes, I've watched Barry Sanders
  10. Main weakness I saw was just lack of push on the offensive line. There wasn't a whole lot of space to run back there. Chuba looked good, but his stats are largely padded by that busted play.
  11. So somehow the 3rd stringers make the Colts QB look good, but Grier didn't get a fair shot. Grier is toast.
  12. If Grier had any potential, he would be lighting it up against these guys. Or at least showing flashes. It's clear that he is only a camp body so that Darnold can sit.
  13. I think Mick Mixon combined with the Colts color commentary guy would make the worst booth possible.
  14. PJ looks really good when he has to improvise and throws on the run.
  15. Grier probably shouldn't be on an NFL roster, but at least PJ Walker has a glimmer of potential. We should probably get rid of Grier and go after someone with some experience.
  16. I'm sure Mick is a good guy, but it's hard to believe he ever made it as a professional announcer. He has absolutely zero aptitude for it.
  17. Pretty bad, probably. But I don't think he makes as many air-mail type interceptions that Sam did in some of the worst games. Personally, I like the move. I'm a bit of a gamblin' man myself, so I like the boom/bust potential of swapping out Teddy for Sam. I just don't think a lot of the more optimistic people see the potential downside here. I think we could end up with a top 5 pick in next year's draft. That could ultimately net us our real franchise QB, but that's just how I see it.
  18. Here's something else to consider. We replaced Teddy essentially because we were 0-8 in games where we had a chance to win it. Teddy didn't do enough to win any of those games. The assumption then, is we can bring in a better QB to make a few plays and win some of those games. The other side of this coin, is that Teddy didn't do anything to really lose any of those games either. Sam has committed some seriously ugly turnovers in a Jets uniform that I don't think Teddy even comes close to. It's truly a boom or bust change at QB. We could be picking higher than 8 next year as a result.
  19. Just for the record, I honestly thought Teddy would do really well for us last year. When I first heard about his contract, I felt like I got punched in the stomach. But, I figured that Teddy would excel in the system and be better than he is. Part of that was assuming that Joe Brady was some kind of miracle worker. For me personally, that's a big reason why my expectations for Sam Darnold are pretty low. I don't think we can say that Joe Brady is a bad OC, but he's certainly not the QB miracle worker he was made out to be. I think Brady can grow into a good play caller, but he looked like a rookie OC last season. 3rd downs and red zone come to mind. Not that Teddy's play helped the situation, but I was scratching my head at some of the situational calls like others here. This is going to be all on Sam. If he can thrive in this culture and turn his career around, that's great. But after watching some of Sam's low-lights with the Jets, my expectations are tempered.
  20. It's definitely long odds, but I don't agree with this comparison. It implies that there is a safer, less risky option to success. In the stock market, the safest way to win long term is to buy index funds. There is no such thing in the NFL. You can't buy shares of Tom Brady. There's only 1 share of Tom Brady and he wears a Bucs uniform now. That's kind of the point I'm getting at. This is a long shot, but it's a long shot with calculated risk. Championship teams are the exception.
