One thing about this game I haven’t seen people discuss is how it must be confidence building for Andersen. Both goals by the Habs were quality, but he made some good stops too. Maybe Freddie won’t turn into a pumpkin after all.

I know people on here want that but we all know that won't happen.

IDK Florida was pretty good at setting up scoring chances. Not just randomly shooting at the net hoping it will go in.

Honestly if we lose this series will anything happen during the offseason or will it be another status quo and nothing really changes. I mean I have no idea what we can do to get over the hump. It will feel pointless.

This feels like the two Florida ECF series. Habs feel like they can score any second and we can only score if we get lucky.

You can't win with these dump puck, chase crap and hope you get a lucky goal and we have gotten a ton of lucky goals this post season.

I don't know what Rod said to the guys but they are playing like the team we know and not the team from two days ago.

Ehlers is quickly becoming one of my favorite players. Such an easy guy to root for.

BS goal by the Habs but the Canes keeps missing easy chances that if it was Montreal they would have scored. Really tired of missed shots and wiffs.

My heart says Canes in 6. My head says Montreal is doing what most teams that beat us do. Be opportunistic and tonight will be more of the same. Montreal in 4. Montreal, like Florida, doesn’t need a billion SOG they just wait for the mistake and score. I hope I am wrong. But the more I think about it the more this feels like last years ECF. Heck the score was almost identical in the first game. Canes also scored first then could do nothing. That said, as always, go Canes.

We’ll see. But this first game was eerily similar to last year and we were thinking the same thing. That the team was just adjusting and the next game will be different and it wasn’t.

It is the same thing every year. “It just game one they got this next game.” Then the next game happens and it is more of the same. I am genuinely worried. If we lose game two it is over.

1-12 in the ECF. In any other sport that coach would be on the hot seat. But even if Rod is swept again nothing will change. No assistant changes. No scheme changes. Nothing. Then next year we will win 45-50 games. Then make the playoffs and then hit a wall with a hot team and goalie. This entire playoffs has been about the offense and I don’t think we can win games against better opportunities scoring 2-3 goals. We definitely aren’t beating Vegas or Colorado scoring 2-3 goals a game.
