Usually a teams first option at QB is risky, or doesn't work out, this is the front office's last attempt at ANYONE BUT TEDDY, and you guys are sitting here acting like this was some type of well thought out plan.

Fields slow progression reads, pocket awareness and long delivery are what is being pointed out as to why he is "dropping".    All the athletic ability in the world means nothing if you cannot read a defense or get past your first read.   Chris simms does a great breakdown on him on Ryan R podcast on the ringer

Also, no not everyone predicted 5 wins. A lot of people that had eyes, evaluated Bridgewater's career, the moves in the off-season, and the shakeup in coaching did. Go read the prediction thread. There's quite a few people in this thread, and especially on this forum with egg on their face consistently from making awful predictions that form no relation to reality. Some of them literally speak in the form of manifestation, it's why some of us were banned for being "negative" aka pointing out reality and trying to move the discussion to who should we seek at QB in the off-season.

There's nothing to bend, it was a definitive statement. Don't get so triggered, and bent out of shape that I don't share your views. If you want to jump head first into believing everything that comes out of the front office, and then even drink the koolaid as well, go ahead. I'll stick to my own opinions, it's why I wasn't surprised going into this off-season with 5 wins (predicted), Teddy producing slightly over his best year with elite players around him (predicted), and the Panthers being out of reach of the top QBs (predicted), and having to panic to replace him the following off-season (predicted).

This isn't shocking to people with the slightest ability to think for themselves.

Matt Rhule said the key in the draft is making sure they get the right guy at No. 8, then addressing their needs in the later parts of the draft.

This is so dumb. If anything you address a need from a pool of worth it at X pick in the first, and go hard BPA the rest of the draft to find talent. Rhule must think he can coach up anyone.

Looks like Rhule is going to have to learn the hard way that you need QB to consistently win the NFL.

Maybe by his next stint as a NFL HC later in life.

I'm trying so hard to find anything positive from Darnold. I'm thinking, maybe my memory is bad, maybe I was being a hater when watching Darnold's games in the past before he was on the Panthers.

This is our GM's 3rd/4th QB option. He tried to trade for Stafford, was in the talks to move up to 3, and then panicked and traded for Darnold, a historically horrific QB (statistically).  Ok.

I really don't think Darnold is the answer guys. I think we're in QB purgatory for at least one more year. 

It's going to be at least 2 more years, and that's if he doesn't improve to just being league average bad, not league leading horrific that he's been his first 3 years in the NFL. My reasoning is he looks a lot like the typical Carolina white guy, and that goes a loooong way with fan approval. There's going to be some diehard defenders for some atrocious quarterbacking.

Were you really that optimistic with Teddy? You got a little sour when someone pointed stats out that showed he wasn't turning in a franchise QB, and then banned people.

Hes coming to Cmc, Dj Moore, Robbie again- and maybe Pitts?! Marcus Maye is also not happy about the trade, because once again, he knows what’s in building. I highly doubt any of you watched jets games weekly (best friends a jets fan and I live in jersey so I had to). Darnold isn’t perfect but he’s super young and has redeemable traits.

 

As far as THIS draft goes. We have nothing but options now. We don’t have to sell farms to a team like Atlanta for someone just as unproven (albeit it would feel better getting fields or lance there) as Darnold. Maybe come pick 8- we’re still interested in Lance if he slips. Maybe we wanna bolster the o line I’d say a Sewell somehow falls. Or we take Pitts and have the best weapons in the NFL. Or take slater and just have a blue chip o lineman. Heck, maybe Mac Jones falls and New England offers their pick and say another 1st or second next season. We have a ton of options now- before today we had our hopes rested in other teams. 
 

Saying Teddy is the same thing or better than Darnold is honestly lazy and misguided. Darnold is 23 and was NEVER given a shot in that craphole organization that MIGHT be finally on the turn around. In my eyes, Darnold is a college player because his age matches it- and he’s had experience playing on that crapshoot of a team.

Darnold is at the very least an upgrade to Teddy and allows us to hopefully draft a franchise LT at 8. But let us at least get to the draft before you start writing the entire thing off ffs.

As soon as Teddy was signed last year there was multiple fans guessing '5 wins and no chance at a QB next off-season', and they were dead on. Go ahead and check out the threads. Just because you were so uninformed doesn't mean others were.
