So they fired him for not running something that he's never historically run. This is on Tepper and the FO for not knowing who they hired and the system he runs, and saddling him with a QB that doesn't fit that system. This organization is something else, I tell ya.

There's a lot of hubris on this board regarding how well they'd do at the GM job. It's not an easy one, and I would not trust one single poster on this board to do a good job in that role. *Obligatory disclaimer that this statement doesn't mean I don't want Fitts fired, because I know how y'all love to misconstrue arguments*

Not to buck the melodrama in this thread, but I will always follow this team, no matter how dark it gets. I'll never not be interested in how they're doing. The bad times make the good times sweeter, and things won't be bad forever.

We were never the worst team in the league under Rhule, but we are now. That said, Rhule might've been worse for the franchise because of how long he was able to sell his vision. At least with Reich, it's been horrid from the very start, and obvious that a change is needed.

That's fair, and he did do a good job of restoring respectability and stabilizing the ship. He should be commended for that, I just believe with all context considered, it is not a stretch to believe that he would not be the best HC candidate available. Unfortunately, we have Tepper making those decisions, so now in hindsight he looks miles better than what we have now.

Absolutely. People either forget or purposefully discount how GMs devalue future picks. A 2024 and 2025 first round pick doesn't mean a whole lot to a GM in 2022 whose seat is warming up.

He went 6-6 as interim, and got rocked by good teams, so I disagree with your evaluation that he turned the team into "winners". He had good wins against the Lions and the Bucs (first game), and had absolute howlers against the Steelers and Bucs (second game), the latter of which was with the division and playoffs on the line. It's not hard to understand the reasoning of not hiring him as HC. Like I have said and will continue to say, just because Reich was the wrong hire, doesn't mean Wilks was the right one.

The Panthers aren't moving. Y'all are attributing malice to Tepper's actions when you should be blaming incompetence. Also, I thought it was pretty well known that it was Rhule that wanted Keep Pounding done away with, so he could implement his "brand".
