  1. You just made a bunch of posts trying to discredit QBR and then say you have no issue with it. How long is this going to go on?
  2. So we can't even agree on the hope that Darnold sees a similar rebound?
  3. We don't know why Tannehill had fewer attempts. A lot of 3 and outs? Maybe they didn't extend drives, or because Gase ran a lot. QBR takes situation into account and tries to rate quarterback contribution. Its imperfect. Look, your not going to convince me that Tannehill was any better than Darnold in 2018 and I'm not going to convince you otherwise. Can we agree on the hope that Darnold sees a similar rebound?
  4. Go on, keep attacking QBR. Thats fine. I know Tannehills <2000 yard season in 2018 looks pretty good to you, it just doesn't to me, ESPN or the Miami Dolphins.
  5. No he didn't The rest of your post attacked QBR. I get your beef, it makes Tannehill look bad. I didn't give Tannehill the WORST QBR in the league in 2018. That was ESPN.
  6. Feel free to love on Tannehill all you want. He's not my QB. QBR, though imperfect, is a more comprehensive stat of QB performance. Tannehill sucked during his Gase years, reaching the very very bottom of the pile in 2018, so much so that he was bested by Darnold the rookie.
  7. It seems you need a refresher on QBR Total QBR takes into account the level of difficulty the opponent team's defense is based on the opponent's’ defensive FPI, among other factors. Conceptualizing the detail Total QBR puts in can be explained through the 2015 NFC Wild Card game between the Green Bay Packers and the Washington Redskins.[6] Aaron Rodgers of the Packers completed 21 of 36 passes for 210 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions, which computes to a 93.5 passer rating. Kirk Cousins of the Redskins completed 29 of 46 passes for 329 yards with 1 touchdown and 0 interceptions, computing a 91.7 passer rating. Observing these statistics, one is likely to conclude that Cousins and Rodgers had similar success and that it was likely a close game. However, the Packers won, 35-18, and much of the reason for that can be attributed to Rodgers' overall play, not just his passing numbers. Traditional passer statistics omit the rest of the impact that these quarterbacks made. Cousins also took 6 sacks, had 3 fumbles (1 lost), and 2 pre-snap penalties on Washington's offense. Rodgers, on the other hand, took only one sack, did not fumble, and drew a number of defensive penalties to keep drives alive. Rodgers manufactured five scoring drives, posting an 82.4 Total QBR. Cousins’ errors resulted in a Total QBR of just 58.9 and were a big factor in Washington losing the game. Your beef isn't with me...its with ESPN. I know its hard to accept, but Tannehnill had the WORST QBR in the league in 2018, lower than rookie Darnolds. His overall play sucked and it was reflected in the QBR. He was traded afterwards.
  8. Neither. They both suck..and that's the point. Tannehill wasn't a far and away better quarterback in 2018. He just wasn't. He was traded for a 4th and change. He averaged 180 yards a game. Your question should be, why was Tannehils QBR the WORST IN THE LEAGUE? Is it because QBR takes into account fumbles, penalties, difficulty of opposition, garbage time....
  9. Season QBR is apples to apples. You just don't like it cause it makes Tannehill look bad with the league worst 33.2 in 2018.
  10. People want to switch stats when they don't like what they see. Tannehill's last season in Miami had less than 2000 yards. Which stat are you going to use to make him look good?
  11. Yes and awesome Tannehill only beat sucky Darnold one year. I was expecting somebody to come in and say "he was better than his QBR". People use a stat until it doesn't support their position and then want to switch stats. Tannehill's last year with Gase had less than 2000 yards and a 33.2 QBR which resulted in him being traded for a 4th and change, and the coach being let go. He wasn't "far and away" better. This is an excellent point. To properly calculate the QBR would be to sum the stats over the time period and plug them in. So lets just look at the raw QBRs: Tannehill/Gase QBRs 45.6 48.6 33.2 Darold's/Gase QBRs 45.6 40.1 Darnolds Rookie QBR 45.9 I included Darnold's rookie year because its the only other QBR we have for him to make both 3 years, ignore if you want. Now you can look at these numbers and try to say Tannehill was "far and away" the better quarterback. It's just not supported by the numbers. Depending on which years you choose to compare, Darnold did better.
  12. No, I get you. I like the feed feature and that normally includes links to their articles as well...but sometimes they just totally miss. Yup and when they passed on Fields, it was clear they were committed. We'll see.
  13. 7 NFL Players Entering Make-or-Break Seasons in 2021 | Bleacher Report | Latest News, Videos and Highlights Bleacher Report agrees with you. Its a make or break season for Sam. When down in the 4th, he tries to make magic happen rather than keep his passing completion percentage up.
  14. Hey thanks. I decided it merited more discussion so I put it as its own thread.
  15. Meanwhile Tom Brady Computer Cowboy on Twitter: "15 yard penalty on the Chiefs for "roughing" the passer https://t.co/taeqNFSLcV" / Twitter
  16. The ref is fkng standing right ***** there. No call. No roughing, no illegal contact, no helmet to helmet.
  17. Its OK. Everybody does it. That's why I joked about it. It appears you agree with PFF's ranking our Oline as next to last. Do you agree with PFF's rating that Christiansen is the best offensive lineman to come out of college football with a 96 PFF?
  18. You know I have mixed feelings. Sometimes what they post makes a lot sense, and sometimes your just like...what? Mostly if I agree with it, it must be right. If not I pick it apart. Like this time. Our o-line is not all of sudden the second worst of the league.
  19. Ok. First three seasons of what...in the league, with Gase..... That is why I asked for the years.
  20. Yeah. Wow. Not sure what to say there. Okung must have really impressed you in those 7 starts.
