I think you're giving the saints too much credit.  They're going to be bad this year

I hope so but I just read an article where ProFootball Focus ranks their roster 5th best in the NFC and 11th overall. Also ranks their defense #3 in NFC. Their o line will take a step back but they seem loaded at virtually every other position. It will come down to if the QB delivers

  2. If we want to stay mediocre for the next 3 years we should sign Cam to a 3 year extension. I think he looked pretty good yesterday but there are probably 12-15 QB's in the league right now that are better than Cam and you just aren't going to win playoff games with average QB's unless your defense is incredibly good. Cam is always going to keep you close but he is never going to be consistently accurate and he will always have just a tad too much "me first". If we want to be 9-8, 10-7 then yes but if we want to be 13-4 no way.

Been mentioned in here. He had an interception week 1 of his rookie year and had an 84 PFF grade. At the end of 2020 he had a PFF grade in the 50s. Same with the first two games this year, in the 50s. Even Eli Apple had some good games before we signed him.

So far, his overall play has been mediocre. He has missed a lot of time as well. I just wanted to set some realistic expectations as I’ve seen a lot of Horn and Henderson lock down the sides and Donte locks down the slot, etc. Henderson is far from proven. Apple might be an apt comparison as he had some “off the field issues” as well so here’s hoping to us knowing what to do and getting him to reach his potential.

I think the Eli Apple comparison is spot on. Apple came into the league with a lot of hype but never lived up to the expectations and has bounded around. I read this on NFL Rumors and I would assume the hope is our coaches can somehow get Henderson motivated but his mental state has to be why no one has wanted to give up much for a CB taken in the first round just a year earlier..."The Jaguars’ old regime made Henderson the No. 9 overall pick in 2020. He went on to appear in just eight games, due to a reserve/COVID-19 list stint and shoulder labrum surgery. Reportedly, even when he was there, the ex-Florida Gator appeared to be disinterested at Jags practice"

I’m confused as to why the Jags wanted to move on from him so soon?

I am sure the Jags would say he has been a massive disappointment when he is on the field and he has not been able to get on the field enough. He was a top ten pick that has been mediocre in coverage but he should be able to fill the gap until Horn returns

  5. I am mixed on this trade...I really like how Arnold was turning into a chain mover and Tight End is a significant part of Brady's scheme. Also, Henderson certainly fits a need but I am skeptical about his performance to date in the NFL. He is often injured, seems to have some struggles mentally and was average at best last year and was not even one of the top 5 CB's from the 2020 draft class (performance wise) . From PFF..."As for Henderson, Jacksonville is already giving up on him after just one NFL season. He finished the 2020 campaign with a 58.3 coverage grade on 270 coverage snaps, the seventh-best mark among the 2020 cornerback class".

With all that said, he has to have potential or he would not have been drafted in the first round so hopefully we can get him turned around.

  6. According to PFF Horn has an overall grade of 66.8 which is not bad for a rookie CB. They say "Horn has looked solid so far but has yet to be tested by a successful passing attack". Horn is ranked 8th out of 23 rookie CB's taken in the draft.

Eric Stokes (29th pick Green Bay) and Patrick Surtain (9th pick Denver) are ranked 1 and 2

  7. I think everyone on this board has been holding our breath wondering if the first two games were just the stars aligning. Jets are terrible, Saints played with half their starters hurt and half their coaches out. Texans have a 4th string QB starting, we might pull this game out but we are far from being an above average team. We need to keep our expectations in check, a winning season would be a step in the right direction

  8. Saints are coming into this game just ready to get destroyed. Two offensive starters out, two defensive starters out, two more defensive starters questionable, and very well could be out. The backups to the defensive starters that are out are also questionable! This is our chance to take out our frustration from the last few years and completely embarrass them. Panthers 31 Saints 13. We will get some attention after this win and we start the season 2-0!
