  1. For context: Ian Thomas was tasked with blocking Myles Garrett while DJ was supposed to go through the gap to block the man that's behind Ian iirc. Garrett went inside and blew past Ian who then ran into DJ chasing after Garrett.
  2. It's a part of my home. I had lived all of my life in the Carolinas, with the exception of middle + high school when we moved to NJ + MD, but as soon as I graduated I came right back down. I remember hating the Falcons, and that was the team most of the folks in the upstate at the time followed. I followed the 49ers until Montana was traded to Kansas City, but the Panthers had been announced then as well so I only had 2 seasons of watching the Chiefs + 49ers until the inaugural 1995 season. During a really tough point in my life when I didn't have access to much, the team went to their first Super Bowl and my family sans me went. It stings to this day, but in 2015 I had the best year of my life. Got married, had our son, and then the Panthers went 15-1 + to the Super Bowl! While I didn't get to go to this one either, I also didn't get left behind like I did the first go around. It's... idk, it's just a constant in my life now that I enjoy diving into as a relief from the hustle and bustle of the every day. EDIT: Also worth mentioning that when my wife and I had first reconnected (we had known each other in HS but never seemed to be single at the same time), I was on my way back from a Panthers game. Our first date was when we beat the dog poo out of her Giants when David Wilson out of VT iirc was their RB (looks like she's getting her revenge yet again this year). I was a season ticket holder during that time and we made it a point to go to as many games as we could. Got to see the MNF game where Cam beat Brady live (after almost getting arrested before kick-off ), the Seahawks playoff win, the Cardinals beating, and more.
  3. I need more Tommy Tremble in this offense A story, in 3 parts Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
  4. Was just pointing out that even when Elflein has a good play, he finds a way to fug things up Let me have my scapegoat dammit! Every Huddler needs one!
  5. Does somebody need to point out to Monty that Clowney has Moton in Baker's lap during the throw and was what forced Baker to get it out? Don't get me wrong, bad throw, but how are we going to say that he came off of DJ too early when Clowney's got a paw in his face?
  6. 1st play of the game where Clowney deflected the pass to Robbie happened because of one of Elflein's "positive" plays where he knocked the DT Corbett was engaged with over into the back of Moton's legs.
  7. He looked solid as hell out there. Some of the rageaholics in here were saying he wasn't strong enough to be a guard, but uh... dude looked like the best OL not named Moton (who had his share of struggles with Clowney, but he also had his successes as well!)

He's a high motor guy that I was hoping would eventually turn into a Charles Johnson-esque type player. Solid against the run, high effort, and gets his sacks as the game goes on because he just doesn't quit. Unfortunately, looks like we got a rotational guy at best. His timing off the ball is horrendous, and he doesn't look explosive at all. I gave him a lot of poo during his rookie season, but he looked to be one of the few players that actually improved last season. KJ Henry out of Clemson could be a steal on day 3 and could easily replace him imo
  9. Bozeman got 4 special teams snaps on Sunday. I can't help but think that they're slowly easing him back in, but that might just be the part of me searching for hope.
  10. Evan Neal was on his ass the entire preseason getting beat. The Huddle would have shot him before week 1.
  11. I rly, rly like the WR-INT stat that you had mentioned. Would be interesting seeing QBs like Eli who made boneheaded throws but also had plenty of picks due to players not catching the ball when it hits them in stride
  12. I think that with Elflein having the second highest grade that we can comfortably stop using PFF grades for anything.
  13. The team shouldn't have allowed themselves to get in a situation where the officials could dictate the finish of the game. That said, I can't stand NFL officiating. A crew with minimal to no oversight is never going to be competent.
  14. Got out relatively healthy Xavier Woods looked good Baker had a terrible start, but started to settle and got better over the course of the game. DJ Moore and CMC are still as good as advertised 2nd half adjustments
  15. I love both the title and the intent of this thread. Having Pat Elflein, Cam Erving, or Michael Jordan on the field in any capacity is infuriating for me
  16. The entire NFL plays like ass for the first cpl of weeks, so it was nice to see him settling in. Very worried about playcalling and protection tho
  17. That's a wrap for me. Didn't even try to ice the kicker? I'm not going to waste energy crying for him to be fired, but I'd be lying if I denied that I'm eagerly awaiting the announcement.
  18. The coaching staff needs to be fired for that final playcall alone
  19. Great play by Marquis, a shame we had to give up the 1st on the next play
