  1. Were the rumors that Canales was unsatisfied with Coker's conditioning true?
  2. Yikes. That will likely effect him for much of this season even when he does return and on top of that it is his right ankle where he needs to draw power from on his throws. Not great!
  3. Absolute do not trade a single thing for these bum QBs being spouted in this thread. Sam Howell?? My goodness!
  4. He's everything you could ever ask for and more. He is one of the reasons I tune in on Sundays to watch, consistent playmaker, my buddy on the phone after the game was hyping him up. Just a DUDE.
  5. He isn't even that effective as a pass rusher, he's a run defense guy nowadays especially.
  6. While you're correct, people are just sick of being told, "you don't understand this, you're dumb" despite what their eyes say. This applies to the Panthers and anything else in life. This board can be a miserable place, but this isn't the old days anymore because Social Media & Reddit have hijacked old-school forum users. I have in the last year or so taken a massive step back from Social Media & Reddit. Deleted accounts on both, I only have X/Twitter now. But I was looking for an outlet for Panthers talk and I did not want to do that on X much at all. There are only two legitimate outlets for that I've found, here and SB Nation. SB Nation I used to partake in, but they absolutely bumble-f*cked the comments section, and I like the setup of the posts + comments, as opposed to article + comments. Also, as others have pointed out, being a Panthers fan has been a horrendous existence since Cam left. Just an awful crew of coaches, draft picks, trading away great players, etc. It's been miserable. Ever since Tepper bought the team, I hoped that he commit to a full rebuild. He never did, he thought there were shortcuts and so did Rhule. This hamstrung us for years, and then he massively overstepped with the BY trade. This ruined the team building, because there was no depth, and then it ruined nuanced BY discussions because of the insane haul we gave up. He will never live up to that, I think many people are finally wrapping their heads around that now which is good. The best thing for this board to get better is for the Panthers to win more, draft well, and to stay committed to crawling through this Andy Dufrense poop-pipe to escape the depths of NFL hell. It will be ugly and stink along the way, but you can see already this year if we commit to drafting then the team and the vibes can turn around quicker than you think. I am extremely optimistic about the draft class this season, it's something to watch, talk about, and celebrate. It also gives Dan and I think by extension Dave Canales more of a leash, which I think we need to give them and grant them the time to turn this boat around.
  7. Those two are at the top of the Defense grades!!?
  8. I wanted Skattebo so bad but there was zero reason for us to take him in the third. That’s just the truth. Would’ve been a ridiculous decision.
  9. I agree! I even mentioned when we traded Adam that it was going to come with short term pain at the expense of Bryce, but long term benefit of a decent draft pick.
  10. You are getting somewhere but just ignoring the elephant in the room still. It's true we haven't invested dollars into TE and WRs, but that's because we drafted heavily there and chose to spend it on the offensive line (which is a must & also has helped Bryce immensely) and defense (which was desperately needed). You can't just pay money everywhere & there is isn't much to find in FA with WR & TE as we've learned, the QB has to elevate these guys at some point. There is talent there, in fact that talent actually stepped up and made a few plays last week. But the QB still is responsible for making the offense function and he struggles to do that on a basic level. His inconsistent mechanics mess with timing, his weak arm puts his guys in a bad position frequently, his deep field accuracy is just poor. He still doesn't have a command of the offense pre-snap at times. I'd say his weapons let him down sometimes, TMac has an obsession with trying one handed catches for no reason, Jimmy Horn can barely line up properly pre-snap, XL has been inconsistent at best, Coker injured, Renfrow pops here and there but is clearly a veteran. TEs have been a rotating cast of guys, but Evans made something work on Sunday. Most of the great QBs have had a great WR or TE to go along with them. But they BOTH are great together and that makes it so productive. Bryce just isn't great and therefore isn't that productive. You guys keep thinking he can't have an explosive game with awesome, eye-popping statistics because of his teammates when it's really just him. I truly think TMac might end up being a very, very good football player for us. Bryce can't even get this guy a Touchdown for us yet. This is one of the big reasons it would help answer a lot of questions if we could see the same offense with another NFL QB in there that is actually decent.
  11. Drew Brees is a Hall Of Fame QB, lets start with a Doug Flutie arc first. Out of the league/backup, gets a shot, then takes advantage on a good team is always possible later in his career.
  12. I used to be an Ultimate Team guy but only in FIFA, which has now been totally ruined from what I've seen. Cool to see Cam as a "Legacy" player in Madden even if it dates me a little bit now.
  13. He does that every game, space gets tight in the pocket, or he's rolling out and being chased so he can't generate momentum with his body as easily (two situations that happen aplenty in the NFL) and the ball dies like a dead duck and skips 5 yards in front of the receiver who is 10-15 yards away. It's incredibly embarrassing to think of how much we gave up for that when it's such a common NFL play. One thing to always ask yourself about a QB pre-draft, if the interior line is losing leverage and you cannot step into your throw, can you still stand tall and deliver a strike to an out route 10 yards away? Yes or No? Bryce cannot due to his physical limitations. Obviously other things to consider at QB but that's a big one for me. I cannot imagine how bizarre it is to watch in person, I've seen multiple people on social media talk about how underwhelming he looks in person. If that's what it took for Tepper to forever remove himself and his wife out of football decisions then maybe that'll be alright long term, but my god man, you totally jacked this franchise up with that trade. Thank goodness Morgans draft picks are stepping up this year, because it could easily be worse than it is.
  14. The youth movement in full effect, early returns are good for steering the season in that direction. Good on staff for acknowledging that and moving forward with it.
  15. I can't believe he tried to Chris Webber us before halftime, those little things are infuriating to watch in Year 3. He loses control and panics presnap too often I hate it. Did well enough to get the game over the line second half but its so unnecessary because of his first half miscues.
