Here is what I heard because I read tea leaves.

    1. "You have to ask (referring to veteran QBs) why are they still out there?"  Vet QB ONLY if we cannot draft one.

    2. "Draft is deep at OL"  We could be looking at BC to LOT if a QB is there after a trade back.  This could be for a G/C.

    3. They deliberately did not mention LTs but they did mention QBs (2 being good with---how hard is it to figure out which 2?)  This reeked of smokescreen to me.

Regarding 3, I think for many here worst case scenario is the top 3 LT's are off the board at 6 and there's not a trade back option. Would people agree with that?

  2. It's the most boring draft class since the Eric Fisher draft and we don't have many draft picks early. But we have the chance to draft a long term LT or a QB of the future this draft which is pretty exciting to be honest. The uncertainty of the 5 picks ahead of us will make it interesting on draft night, but I will likely switch the channel after pick 15 or so, I've never known less about a draft class in my life.

  3. Just listened to this and I really enjoy listening to Simms talk about the QBs every draft. His knowledge of throwing mechanics and his insights on that separate him from the rest of the talking heads in my opinion. This was a great listen and opened my eyes some on a few of these prospects.

If Malik were coming into a situation like Darnold did last year then I'd agree with you. But, I think this year would be a little more favorable to Willis (or any QB that we'd draft).

The O-line is already poised to better by the new FA acquisitions. The O-line Sam, Cam, and PJ played behind last year was an embarrassment. We have hired one of the better O-line coaches in the league to make them even better. McAdoo has been hired as OC,. He has experience as a HC and OC. He understands NFL offenses better than Joe Brady.

I think Carolina is lot more desirable destination for any QB (by trade, draft, or FA) then it was just 1 month ago.

You may be right but I just don't trust this franchise right now haha

  5. I still have no idea what to think of Malik Willis at all, never saw him play, seen clips of his throws and he's got a hell of an arm certainly NFL level. I want him to succeed, if he is deemed as raw I hope he goes somewhere like PIT with more established culture and staff as opposed to here.

  6. I hate that we never could put a competent O-line in front of him throughout his career but I'm done watching Cam play QB. I just can't take it anymore, especially knowing how good he once was and how much he's regressed since. I tried to give him a chance then that WAS game pretty much confirmed all of my priors. He's not an NFL starter at this level IMO and I'd like to draft and develop someone either this draft or next.
