What if between those 3... they are attempting to get one of the Giants picks to select Willis and a left tackle. If we were willing to trade future 1st... we definitely may try to do the same this route too. When I heard Scott speak on finances... this would be the most cost effective way. Your starting left tackle and Qb on a rookie contract while you build the rest of the team.

After watching the Saints and Falcons come in and try to get Deshaun, with the cap situation they had.... I don't care about cap anymore. Looks like we may have our own set of cap manipulators finally too.

@Prowler2k18 true!! Looking at the free agency market... its be easier to add a vet dt because a ton are still available. Goldman, Larry Ogh, Calais Campbell(dt/de), Star and etc

@shaqattaq I agree and I recall Hoskins flashing a bunch in the time he was on the field. Looked Like the biggest dt on the field too, with a burst to add!

@BurnNChinn Detroit is just testing the market but they have Goff there to give WIllis a year. Nobody expected Lance to go 3 at this point honestly. Only 2 players I see going at 2 are Aiden or Willis for Detroit. Goff is not their answer. If they get Baker Mayfield things could change but I'd say keep an eye on them

@Basbear yep I definitely agree! It will be some agents getting antsy too tho. Whatever positions are deep with talent in the draft, those free agents will try to catch on before spots get took.

I think this week we could know more about our faith with the 6th pick. The annual league meetings start today and some talks will be made about qbs. I expect to hear more trade ramblings this week on all things that has been touched basis on.

@MHS831 It most definitely was and with him saying that he and Tepper are aggressive, something is up.

I think the part missing from that presser is when he stated "They have ti call us" when referring to trading for a qb. That's stating that they have called teams and waiting to see if said team will finally give in. When digesting that comment, it means.... Baker could be a possibility but we aren't budging on our trade demands of shaving salary. It also could stand that we have reached out to Arizona and others to let them know we are open for business(when your ready to move on) at any time.

I know Bookies.com is not a source you want to take too much stock in but nobody finds it strange this stuff pops up after we complete the main 3 Qb pro days.... Could they be not too enthused and are now ramping things up.

Sounds like the Giants brass is eyeing the thought of going after a Qb next year and trying to have ample options and capital if needed to make moves. I know they are looking at money too because of trying to trade Bradberry but they are clearly white flagging this season.

Yeah, something definitely doesn't feel normal at all about the moves. Something definitely is going on and Scott is running things way more differently. Add to the fact we got a gambling owner... wouldn't shock me they been calling for Lamar or Kyler as soon as we got out of running for Watson.

The only reason that makes sense... is to be going after a veteran qb(trade for a Lamar etc)with a cap hit. It seems if we going for a rookie qb, we might as well keep that young player. No need in losing talent to cover up the dumb mistake of extending Sam last year.

@MHS831 Yeah i read that and Ian also stated he thinks us over Seattle if Baker money goes down. Knowing our luck he would go to Tampa and when Brady retires, he goes back to 2020 Baker. People forget he went toe to toe with Mahomes and even helped beat Pittsburgh in the post season. Not criwning him but the scenario fits us better because Rhule doesnt desebe to set us back with a rookie. #

Just going by all the scenarios, it has me changing my mind to giving Baker a shot. I say so because it'd be a 1 year prove it not only for him but for Rhule. If it works out with the improvements we have, then cool. If things go south, we are no longer tied to Baker, Darnold or Rhule. I don't like the idea of getting a rookie and then Rhule gets fired and the new regime is ready to pick HIS GUY.

I've been lurking for years but I must say... why no mentions of trading(not a 1st or etc) for Tyler Huntley? I saw enough of dude to say he has some very similar traits Watson (on the field)has and still on a cheaper contract. I know Baltimore is trying to figure the Lamar stuff out but trading for Huntley is more financially important for us because we still have him at a lowered cap hit. Just my 2 cents but I'm just glad to finally have to stop refreshing about Deshaun.
