  1. Every issue I have with Borrego is on full display tonight. He is not the answer.
  2. As do Lamelo and Miles. Our 3 best players are shitting the bed and have been basically non existent on offense and major liabilities on defense so far.
  3. I am about to turn this poo off. Can't watch another repeat of last year's playin game. Did Borrego even come up with a game plan for tonight, or are we just going to watch more street ball?
  4. Why the fug does it keep flashing the Bobcats logo on the score ticker?
  5. It lasted all of 2 minutes. Back to not knowing how to close out on shooters leaving guys wide open from 3.
  6. Why does this team hate Left Tackles? We are in prime position to finally draft one and fix a hole that has been present since Jordan Gross retired and some how the Panthers are going to find a way to fug it up. The Panthers haven’t drafted a tackle in the first round since Jeff Otah in 2008 and traded back into the first round to do so. I’d be willing to bet that is the longest stretch of any team in the league. I’ve never seen a team ignore such a glaring need for so long.
  7. It won’t ever happen because of how massive the sports betting market has become. Multi billion dollar industry isn’t going to leave things to chance. Technology keeps getting better and better and yet the percentage of blown / missed calls continues to increase. Sorry, but I don’t think the correlation between that and the growing sports betting market is a coincidence.
  8. So sad. I really hope it was not a hit and run and they have apprehended who ever did it. RIP.
  9. While the Panthers added some hopefully decent linemen in free agency, they have ignored the most important part of the offensive line, left tackle. The Panthers haven't drafted a tackle in the first round since Jeff Otah in 2008. That's insane.
  10. Sorry that was worded terribly. He was the best in college football from a clean pocket and the Panthers offensive line is not going to provide him with a clean pocket very often. If you want to draft a pocket passer, invest in the offensive line first so you can create a clean pocket more often than not. Then worry about drafting a guy who is really good from a clean pocket. People want to discredit Willis as a QB and then talk about how accurate Pickett is yet Willis was a better QB under pressure and Pickett was better from a clean pocket. I’m basing this off of the PFF stats you quoted on the first page of this thread. I don’t like any of the QBs in this draft which is why I keep saying the Panthers should be all in on a LT at 6. Build a legit offensive line then worry about drafting a QB.
  11. People want to draft Pickett who put up his stats with the cleanest pocket in college football last year. You really think he’s going to have success behind the Panthers offensive line with no LT worth a damn on the roster and hands so small he can’t grip a ball without gloves? That’s a recipe for disaster. QB shouldn’t even be in the discussion for our 6th pick unless it’s with a team willing to trade the farm to move up and draft one. LT all damn day.
  12. I know. I was giving examples of stats and/or level of competition and how those things rarely make a significant difference when projecting how talent will pan out in the NFL.
  13. There have been a good number of QBs drafted this century from small schools who played against weak competition who ended up being incredibly good QBs. A few of them are even Super Bowl winners. So sorry that’s a poor argument. A lot of times players are drafted based off of potential not what or who they played against in college. I mean look at what San Fran gave up to draft Trey Lance ffs. But hey if that stuff matters to you you can be like the Bears or Browns and draft yourself a Mitch Trubisky or Baker Mayfield over guys like Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen because they played better talent and put up better numbers in college than the other guys. I’m guessing the 49ers should have taken Mac Jones instead of Trey Lance as well, right? Sorry OP but this is such a bad / stupid take. You’re clearly wrong and it’s not even a matter of opinion.
  14. The guy has money. He will pay some people off and nothing will come of this. It’s the American way.
  15. They use a secret formula for their grading system so basically they can dish out what ever bullshit grades they want and don’t have to show the reasoning behind any of it. Im going to be like a math teacher and say there’s no validity to their grades until they show their work.
  16. Seems like almost everyone in this tread is missing the point. He isn't advocating against drafting Pickett. He is saying that taking a guy who doesn't have a crazy high ceiling isn't worth taking with a high first round pick. A bunch of all time great QB's were brought up as an example and almost all of them were late first to 6/7th round draft picks. If you are drafting a player with a top 10 pick, you better be drafting them with the mentality that the player is going to become an all pro level player. I wouldn't want to use a top 10 pick on a QB if I didn't think they had a chance to become an elite quarterback. With picks that high you should go with BPA, if you are drafting for need then trade back and get more value and more picks. Lucky for the Panthers, we have a huge need at LT and it just so happens a LT will most likely also be the best players available at pick #6.
  17. It was not the same line Darnold won 3 games behind. By the time we signed Cam, the line had been rocked by injuries and because of that Sam ended up getting injured because he was having to run for his life every time the ball was snapped. That is the reason we signed Cam in the first place. Darnold also didn’t even manage to throw a touchdown pass behind the line Cam played behind once he did return from injury. After week six, Darnold didn’t throw a touchdown pass again until week 18 when Rhule finally decided to give our two rookies meaningful playing time at their actual positions on the line and move Elflein to center. If you’re going to start throwing around claims of someone sounding biased or stating facts that can’t be backed up, you should probably make sure you know what you’re talking about first.
  18. Unfortunately for CMC and Jon Beason since someone posted him they both were plagued by non contact injuries. They were also usually deep tissues / ligament injuries. In a game like football, if you are injury prone and it isn’t due to the hits and or violent nature of the game, it’s probably a side effect from increased PED usage. Users end up pushing their bodies past their natural limits and things like ligament tears, sprains and strains, pulled muscles etc, become increasingly more prevalent. I remember reading a study done about the correlation between steroid usage and non contact injuries in the NFL and the risk for players who abused PEDs was significantly higher. Sorry, but just looking at McCaffrey and Beason, those guys don’t look natural and both have suffered numerous non contact injuries through their NFL careers. Some guys frames just can’t support the added muscle mass along with the speed and agility needed to be an NFL player. Connective tissues just start tearing and popping.
  19. No because he doesn’t have what it takes between the ears.
  20. Cam can win games for this team if McCaffrey can stay healthy and we get a legit LT. Without those two it will be more of what we’ve been seeing the past two years.
  21. Was surprised I had to scroll as far as I did to find this comment. Knowing how bad the offensive line is/was, that play design looked terrible. We should have been dialing up quick routes that allowed Darnold to throw after a 3 step drop. Anything more behind that line and you can pretty much guarantee a sack or the QB having to run for his life. If we needed longer developing routes, bootlegs should have been utilized more. Hardly saw any dialed up the past 2 years.
  22. Which is why based on track record you can pretty much guarantee Rhule is going to draft Pickett instead of a LT and we will once again have an incomplete offensive line. The QB and offense will struggle due to a patchwork offensive line and we will be right back to square one again this time next year. It’s been this way every year under Rhule.
  23. Take a LT this year and draft a QB next year. Anyone with half a brain knows this is the best option considering how much better next years QB class is supposed to be. This gives you a year to make sure the offensive line is fixed before you put a rookie QB behind it. Unfortunately, Tepper didn’t fire Rhule so you already know Rhule is going to do every he can to try and draft Pickett to try and save his job. LT will be ignored once again and we’ll be watching another train wreck unfold and come this time next year will still be in need of a LT and QB. It’s okay though because remember, it took Jay-Z 7 years.
  24. Cam and Willis is the dream scenario if they plan on drafting a QB. I really hope we draft a LT though because we currently don’t have a legit LT on the roster.
