  1. No, I worry about us not improving on the field while Bryce continues to look like a bust week after week. Period. Go back and find my posts from before the season, I spent all offseason talking about how I don't care about wins or losses, all I want to see is actual on field improvement this season, particularly from Bryce. Bryce looks just as bad as ever and I see no on field improvement other than Canales not forcing Hubbard carries today, and that one thing is not good enough to satisfy my desire for seeing improvement.
  2. So let's say the wind blew that kick wide, which nobody could have faulted any player or coach about given the conditions. Then we lose in OT. Would you still say progress was being made? Or is it SOLELY because of the W when looking at the schedule? That's not some crazy hypothetical, it's a very fair question to ask, and it's what ALL of my comments right now are based in. I've actually credited Canales multiple times in recent weeks about him turning the culture of the team around. But none of that matters if we're not seeing actual on field improvement, as they're just hollow wins that might make some fans feel good in the moment, but they aren't wins that will help us in the future. And yes, I think this win is VERY different than those Wilks/Foreman lead wins. Because we looked like competent NFL teams in those wins, something I don't see right now when watching this team. I see a team that is rightfully giving it to the hot hand at RB, but making countless other mistakes and looking dreadful in the passing game week after week.
  3. When we still miss the playoffs and go into next year with Bryce still as our QB and he still sucks. People like you are not allowed to complain that he hasn't improved yet in his 4th season in the league. If you can't objectively look at what you're seeing on the field and acknowledge that we are winning in spite of things like looking like a real NFL team, then you don't get to complain when those problems rear their ugly head and bite us in the ass in the future. You know it's okay to both celebrate a win while acknowledging the issues you see, but sticking your head in the sand isn't going to help either.
  4. Except we are winning games without actually improving on the field. If you can't see why that is a problem, then I can't help you. We have a #1 draft pick going out there in his 3rd season and barely able to break 100 yards passing week in and week out. But sure, let's go all crazy over a win that was more or less given to us by the other team's mistakes.
  5. 100% However, I don't see today as a game "we won" as much as one "the Packers lost", disagree if you want, but outside of us actually getting the win, I'm not sure how anyone can watch that game today and say we played better than they did.
  6. So, point out extremely valid points with a question for a response and this is your answer. Basically saying I'm correct and that you're going to stick your head in the sand about all the issues we still show week in and week out because we got a W in the standings. I'll bet you'll be the first person complaining about how bad we looked the next time we get our asses kicked when we play this exact same way.
  7. But please tell me why that is a great sign? When actual good teams win their blah games, it's great because it helps them in the standings and they know they're a better team than that, and they'll play better in the future. Outside of the Falcons game, we haven't had a complete game all season long. And outside of the Falcons, Dolphins, and Cowboys games, we haven't looked good on offense at all this year. THAT is why I don't understand how people can seriously say "that is a great sign" when we're 6 for 9 in putting up dud offensive performances. Again, if your ONLY goal is to be considered in the playoff hunt, then sure, great win. But if you want to actually see improvement on the field, then I have no idea what you watched today, because there was none other than Canales not forcing Hubbard into the game.
  8. We won, the game is over. Now tell me how squeaking out a win where we looked like crap in most aspects of the game helps us moving forward? If your only goal is to be in the playoff hunt, then sure, it helps because we won the game. But I'm actually looking for the team to improve how they play and how the coaching staff operates. There was only one good thing about how we looked today, and that was Rico, a player who is more likely to be traded in the next 2 days than he is to be on the roster next season. (and no, I don't think he'll get traded, but I think there is a better chance of that than him being signed to an extension given the interest he's likely to get by other teams). This is all fools gold unless the only thing you look at is the standings, if you watch the actual game, not sure how you get excited after that game. Which isn't being a Debbie downer, it's just being a realist and having an unbiased opinion about what you witnessed.
  9. No, because we still looked like crap for the most part today and won because the Packers couldn't stop from stepping on their own dick. We won, but not sure how anyone can take anything away from today's game other than the W that gives them any confidence moving forward.
  10. 4th and 3 and we have our DB's lined up 10 yards beyond the LOS??!?!?! WTF!?!?!??!
  11. Yep, let's keep throwing end zone passes to our WR with bricks for hands instead of the player with the best hands on the team (earlier drop aside)
  12. Exactly, they sent him in motion to the empty side of the field hoping to draw the defenses eye, and then threw a quick pass out to the opposite side. Canales trying to fool the defense instead of just throwing the obvious pass to our best receiver.
  13. He's been doing this all season, in obvious situations we should be throwing to T-Mac, like 3rd and short-ish there, we use him as a decoy route and never even have Bryce look his way, hoping to fool the defense. Sometimes your best play is just throwing to your best player, not using them as a decoy, but 9 games in and Canales still can't figure that out yet.
  14. I get it, it was a bad throw and would have been an impressive catch. But realistically he had a hand (maybe 2?) on the ball with no defender even jumping with him to break it up. Awkward throw or not, when you're as good as he is, he needs to make that catch, it was a drop.
  15. It's week 9 and we haven't thrown a single jump ball to T-Mac in the end zone all season long. But we love to throw them to him in the middle of the field when we need 1st downs, and because of it, he's one of the league leaders in them. Make it make sense
  16. 100%, everyone can see it. But if I were to say this, it's just me complaining that my guy isn't getting TD's, instead of just objective analysis. And it's not even Bryce, it's Canales, as most of the time you can see the first read of those plays are to XL and he never looks T-Mac's way.
  17. But, but, but, but, I was told Dalton's bad game was proof that Bryce is a god and our savior at QB.
  18. I hope we trade Rico, because if they do that, it would actually make me think the front office and coaches don't believe in Bryce. If they think Bryce is going to be our guy, then they should be pushing for the playoffs this year with our record right now, not sending away our current starting RB.
  19. He’s still playing well enough to make it worth it (if he can stay healthy) So I have no problem with it since the cap space rolls over anyways. Everyone complains that we don’t keep our good players around, and then complain when we extend one of our steadiest players of the last decade.
  20. It's better to clear the cap space and not use it than clear it and then overspend on a player out of need and them not live up to the contract. Clear it this year, roll it over and spend it next year on a player worthy of the contract.
  21. I want to replace both of them this offseason, but if it's only one or the other, I think getting the right coach in place is more important than replacing Bryce next year. It gives us a year to use our picks and cap on building out a better roster to allow better success for the new QB. Not to mention that I wouldn't want the first year of a new QB to then be coached by someone I don't think has what it takes to be a good HC. That's a good way to ruin the new QB before they ever get off the ground, sound familiar?
  22. Wasn't insinuating that you were one of those people by quoting you, just a more general statement about a lot of people here and was quoting you two because I was talking about the speed/quickness thing, that's all.
