  1. Yes, the rando that just threw 2 of the most dud INT passes directly into the Giants hands.
  2. Funny thing I was thinking is that he reminds me a better run blocking version of Khalil Herbert..and what do you know, they were teammates. Can pass catch and seems to have bulked up and improved at blocking. He plays a lot quicker and with better burst than he tested in 2020. I'd just love to find a toolsy guy in the mold of Pollard/Herbert/etc. I think that type of dude is critical these days. Sanders doesn't have top end burst, Hubbard is just slow, and Brown is just not worth having. Would love to just keep Sanders, Blackshear, and maybe peruse other team's cuts for a smash mouth type. If no ones pops up of interest, just retain Hubbard one more year.
  3. I know it's a worse defense but Blackshear has so much more value than Brown. We need more home run hitters and he just has such good quickness.
  4. We are also clearly looking to see what type of percentages can be deployed in a RB committee if Miles misses time. Blackshear really seems to have a quick first step. He gets to the line of scrimmage quicker than Chubba (slowest) and Brown.
  5. He almost gave up that 3rd and 13 as well. He got lucky there.
  6. Wright and Franklin (continues to) look like more than adequate depth and ST studs.
  7. Clearest takeaway -- Rowe is likely not making this squad. He is slow and lacks some awareness. They've kept him out there for a bit now to keep feeling him out and he keeps losing his man by a few steps.
  8. It's fair to be a bit anxious looking at the team's overall vibe and performance right now, but good lord people. At least this gives them obvious corrections and assessments to make from a personnel standpoint. It's not fun not being able to push the ball at all though, so I get it. We have too many proven experienced coaches, from recent SB winning teams, to think this is the playbook and structure. We're just running draws and triangle patterns in the passing game. This is super basic. We haven't done anything expansive into the playbook by what I'm seeing. A legit concern is that a lot of player are simply losing at the point of attack. Position coaches need to get on that this next week.
  9. Dang, we've made it to the Matt Corral/Shi Smith/Ian Thomas show. Tune off time.
  10. He's very well known as a stoic/unemotional sideline type. If you didn't know that then that's kind of on you. But also not a reason to get riled up about...at all.
  11. That was a floater, it seemed Rowe didn't even want to try at that one. That was admittedly rough.
  12. I hope we get one more drive from Bryce. We need some momentum with our first team, even if the Giants start benching guys. Let's figure out some rhythm out there. Positives - Boze, Mingo, Luvu, Chinn
  13. Icky with a mental hiccup.
  14. Brown has like 2 and Chubba has 6 right up the gut. They seem intent on reviewing those two and the OLs run ability. You know what you get with Hayden, Chark and Thielen. They've given Mingo shots. Good redzone chance to test out Tremble or Sullivan.
  15. You typically are looking at outside corner pairings when referring to duos/tandems. I view Horn/Jackson as a top-16 duo but I’m also accounting for availability. As a DB unit, we’re definitely one of the most interesting with Bell, Woods, Chinn, Horn, Jackson and Rowe. Far from the best though. Re: Chinn talk…I believe what we’re going to see is pretty clear from the Evero last year and our personnel. We’re going to see a 3-3-5 Penny Front. It’s different from Snow bc there’s no silly undisguised blitzing and Evero isn’t going to pin Chinn deep 30% of the time. Shaq is the offball LB, Luvu is onball outside (he thrives in this and has since college, he’s basically a hybrid EDGE at times), Burns standing strong side, 3 down linemen. Chinn fits perfectly in the big nickel role more tightly aligned with Shaq. Jackson and Horn outside CBs, Bell/Woods 2 high safeties. That’s a personnel grouping I foresee a ton.
  16. It's pretty annoying we kept him around from a fan's perspective--stemming not only from the lack of production, but his off the field issue and that 2022 contract as well (now restructured, but still..) Sure, he became a better blocker and has always sounded like a good practice dude per reports, but his raw athleticism never translated to Sundays. You have to show something, at some point. Who knows ha, I have no expectations for him.
  17. Funny note -- Hurst & Ian came out of the same draft class. One we treat as this established vet that we brought in and another we're somehow still thinking may bloom any day now. This will be Ian's 6th year and is on his second contract. He's honestly lucky to be here at this point. I'd personally prefer to see what strides Tremble makes. He's super young (the age of a lot of rookies this year). Critical year developmentally for him. TEs are known to take time (2-3 years), but not 6... Probably the last year here for Thomas unless he somehow has some completely out of nowhere breakout.
  18. Haynes is the one good piece we have after Burns rotationally. Problem is that he doesn't compliment Burns to be on the field at the same time with him, Shaq & Luvu. He's backup/rotation, down dependent. This tells me YGM isn't showing enough as an edge setter and DJJ hasn't shown much either. It's mildly annoying but we've all seen this hole from a long ways away. Good to have a dude like Houston. He comes in, and helps to get a decent cream rising from YGM, DJJ, & Leota developmentally. We'll see. Plenty of ways to go until week 1.
  19. Given that’s what Boze had to do for 99% of the the time for our previous QBs, it’s probably a breath of fresh air. Pre-snap ability is huge. Bryce and Haener were the only two coming out that really had the readability seem second nature to them. Everything I see and hear makes me very confident we found a legit QB.
  20. 2 weeks to training camp and some legit updates begin.
  21. We've got some very specific question marks (outside CB depth, edge setter, & unproven WRs), but it's a really well rounded squad. Defense could pop. Offensively, there's a lot of unknowns but you've got the line talent, good enough receivers, and a fresh #1 overall pick behind center. There's just so much new, it's difficult for anyone to project. I'm all for proving people wrong.
