  1. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Smitty counted that first catch as a body catch with the way he traps the ball to his body. He does a great job of tracking the ball and I don't have a particular issue with how he "caught" it but he definitely pins it into his body like most body catches. Still a great play regardless though.
  2. The only L would be signing him to a long term deal. As long as Burns is not on the roster by TC its a huge win for the Panthers.
  3. Yea but he's also a large part of the reason they are even in the SB to begin with. Wilks on the other hand is not
  4. You again aren't wrong but I can definitely see why he chose to fire Wilks. That unit honestly under performed for most of the year and the defensive play calling during that GW drive will probably haunt them for awhile. It was pretty bad.
  5. I get that but Wilks blinked in the biggest moment of his career. They had the KC offense on its heels after MVS caught that ball and ran 3 yards backwards passed the LOS. He then ran a prevent defense and allowed KC to nickle and dime them up and down the field. Shanahan even called a TO after they converted because I'm guessing he was pissed off at the defense his DC just called and rightly so. This move all but affirms that.
  6. Really surprised no one has been calling out Wilks for playing 5 DBs off the ball on KC's final drive. After they converted the 4th and 1 MVS caught a 3 yard pass, broke a tackle going backwards and ended up losing 3 yards. Instead of playing up in the WRs faces like they were doing all game he had ALL of his DBs 5+ yards back off the ball allowing easy completions for Mahomes and Co. to go right down the field. It doesn't surprise me it fits Wilks's conservative nature and further reinforces why I'm glad we didn't choose him for a HC. I wouldn't be surprised to see him fired for that last drive and the overall struggles the 49ers defense had this season.
  7. I don't think there is a better more entertaining highlight reel than a Steve Smith reel. He was the furthest thing from a one dimensional receiver and made an incredible number of defenders look silly. All the while playing in run dominant offenses with borderline pro bowl QB talent (3-4 years with a pro bowl QB if that).
  8. I wonder what Joe Burrow would look like without Mixon, Higgins, Boyd, and Chase and instead had Sanders, TMJ, Chark, and Thielen. I feel like some people in Cinci would be getting fired
  9. I mean you can clearly watch the film and see that in 1 out of 3 drop backs Young didn't have anywhere to go with the football in multiple games and multiple times this season. You pair the WR struggles with the Oline struggles on top of having an undersized nonathletic QB under center and it's quite easy to see what the problem was. Nothing fit together and every unit underperformed. Throw all of that in with a bland archaic offensive philosophy with no real direction and you have one of the worst offenses ever assembled in NFL History. Young wasn't good but he was far from being the only reason why this offense was so poo.
  10. Brandon LaFell was solid. He was one of the few Panthers that was still a solid player for another team after he left us. Most of the time after the Panthers move on from a player specifcally a WR they are usually never heard from again. LaFell might not have been a #1 but I think he was still a solid player for us
  11. Burns will never play up to what we will be forced to pay him. We are better off letting him go for absolutely nothing and using that cash saved elsewhere vs locking him up long term. I'd prefer we get something for him but honestly as long as he isn't on the team by the start of next season it's a win for the Panthers
  12. What you fail to acknowledge is that while we didn't have the worst Oline in the league it was one of the worst especially when you look at just the OG position. You combine that with slow WRs who arent getting separation and a scheme that isn't doing anyone on offense any favors and its very easy to see how a young QB struggled in his first year here. I wish football was all about just one position or position group but it isn't. You look at the good offenses in the NFL and they put their players in position to succeed and all 11 players are doing their part consistently. The Panthers had 0 consistency from any player not named Thielen on offense last year.
  13. I too would have wished we saw more of Dalton. It would have given us a clearer picture on what was actually holding this team back. A quick glance puts a lot of it on Bryce and rightfully so but I truly believe he was in one of the most fuged up situations you could possibly find yourself in as a #1 pick
  14. Andy Dalton with the best passing game of the season is some major cope as you and your loyal followers like to say. He threw the ball 60 times to hit that magical number of 361 yards. Against Green Bay Young had only 50 less yards in almost 1/2 the attempts (33 vs 58) and Bryce has had a higher passer rating in 4 other games than Dalton had in his 1 game. You like to call people out for there "cope" yet you keep spewing this garbage about Dalton having the best game of the year for us at QB and that's not true. Just admit your hate for Young and move on. Even if he had a good year I have a feeling you and your followers would still be out here with your pitch forks. Give it a rest already
  15. It was a catastrophic failure on all fronts starting with Tepper. How do we have all this knowledge and experience to pull from with this staff and wind up 2-15? It really is mind boggling and of course after you go back and dissect every move we've made it's easy to see how we got here. I keep saying how didn't we know any better with this staff that we had in place? And then it dawns on me that even if someone had every correct answer imaginable Tepper is still going to do what Tepper wants to do period. It's been a terrible fuging year to be a Panthers fan and the future doesn't look very bright albeit some miracle Bryce develops with the next HC but even I know that is a stretch.
  16. Remember how Stroud looked in the preseason? That would be the CJ Stroud the Panthers would have had had we drafted him. There's no way he reaches his potential here the way he did in Houston.
  17. That's why you can only take the Huddle Hot Takes with a grain of salt. Tua is a fine NFL QB who had a rough night on the road in one of the toughest environments to play in. But these numb skulls will try and paint a definitive picture after 1 bad game, or season and think they have a clue what they're talking about
  18. My life is great. Making money watching football and conversing on a message board with some single digit Football IQers. What more could you ask for?
  19. See here's the thing though. I'm not a "Bryce Young" fan I'm a Carolina Panthers fan and I know football. And what I know is no matter whose name was on the back of the QB jersey for the Panthers offense in '23 it was going to be the same dog poo team regardless. The sooner you assclowns realize this then I will be able to log out and stay logged out in peace!
  20. Regret what exactly? You honestly think the Panthers become a playoff team had we taken Stroud over Bryce? Lol. Stroud would be getting dumped on just like Bryce is currently had we drafted him. This team wasn't going to be successful even if you had Jesus Christ himself playing QB.
  21. That doesn't account for where the pressure is coming from though. Most of the time when a QB is under pressure he can step up in the pocket to avoid it. If the majority of the pressure is coming from the middle of the oline that's a severe problem and not one most NFL teams have issues with. There's a reason Tackles are paid more than Guards. It's a harder position to play and harder to pass block on the edge especially with the type of athletes that are lining up out there. Guards shouldn't struggle anywhere near where our OGs struggled in pass pro. It was historically bad. You can scheme and play around edge pressure. You cannot scheme and play around pressure that comes from up the middle on a consistent basis that will ruin any offensive scheme
  22. Who said anything about perfect? How about we start with league average instead of historically bad and go from there
  23. Draft a 5' 10 QB follow that up with historically bad OG play and we wonder why our 5' 10 QB struggled so much. Getting beat on the outside is one thing. Consistant pressure up the middle makes it almost impossible to play QB at a high level.
  24. Tepper is a fuging moron (we already know he is but still) if he doesn't at least give Harbaugh an interview. I can't think of another HC prospect that would have a better chance of turning this fuging train wreck into something salvageable other than Jim Harbaugh
  25. If Bryce looks like the same player with a better coaching hire and better offensive cast then I will be leading that charge. I think he will be improved. Will it be 4k passing 30 Tds improved? Not likely but a serviceable game manager is what I hope it at the very least it looks like next year. It won't be worth what we traded up for but it'd be a start.
