i heard the new expansion made some serious improvements, might have to jump in now

I don't know of anyone who was "born and raised a scout".

I do know of several people who have proven themselves capable of personnel evaluation by working for years as scouts.

 I'm not a subscriber to the goofball notion a lot of corporate America has that if a guy is good at one thing, you can put him in a job doing something else and he'll  be good at that too. If a guy's going to be hired for a job, I'd like some evidence that he can actually do that job, not something else.

Of course you don't because I was exaggerating

So a guy is going to literally spend years training for a job and somehow he's not a "football guy" that makes no sense. I'll take a home grown successor over a guy with a little scouting experience. That's what you hire scouts for. If he's training for the job that makes him highly qualified. 

I hate you but we agree here, these other opinions are based on such ignorant thinking.

I get the feeling it's more like the Giants assistant GM.

The Giants have a guy with that title, but he doesn't have a scouting background. He does some of the 'grunt work' but if the time came to replace Jerry Reese, it'd be Marc Ross taking the job while the 'Assistant GM' stayed where he's at.

Pretty sure Dave Gettleman will have a lot of say in who his successor is. I'd be extremely shocked if it was a guy who didn't have scouting  experience.

I never understood the Gabbert hype, but yeah, I thought Locker had the potential to be a poor man's Favre. Unfortunately for the Titans that didn't work out in large part due to the fact that while Favre was the NFL iron man, Locker was seemingly made of glass.

But is a 'poor man's Favre' a top 10 type talent?

Only other semi-legit person I've seen mention it was a Las Vegas bettor with over 100,000 followers including guys like Schefter and Chris Mortensen. Take that for what it's worth. I haven't actually seen him linked anywhere yet only that Tennessee reporters were saying he was getting offers from other teams.
