I watched the Det-GB game, apparently tly Sewell is 3rd string.
He was out with an injury for that game but Sewell looked great as the season went on. Will start for a decade plus.

Im a Duck and hate the Washington Huskies with a passion but I love this pick. UW is one of the best schools in the country at putting DB talent into the NFL.

Where is he at??
Future FB, special teams players??
Likely a future first or second round LB. He was the Pac 12 freshmen DPOY last year. Reminds me of Rey Maualuga.

Penei's "little" brother Noah also turned a lot of high school kids in Utah into grease spots. Too bad there arent anymore Sewell's in the pipeline. Each version seems to be better than the previous.

Not a massive fan of his technique:
This is film from when he was 18 and won the Outland award. The fact he has so much room for growth is scary and why Sewell is OT1.

If Sewell falls to 7 I could see the Chargers moving up to draft him. Maybe Detroit would prefer to just drop one spot to get the same player but add a 3rd from us or something. Imagine Burns vs. Sewell in practice every day. Iron sharpens iron.

I think Darnold is likely a bust and we shouldnt have given up more than a 3rd. With that said, this wont prevent from drafting or trading for a QB next year and frees up our hand to select Sewell if he falls.

I think Pitts will not make to 7 either.
So the following have 0 chance to be at 8 - Sunshine, Wilson, Jones
10%- Chase, Pitts, Waddle, Fields
50%- Lance, Sewell, Slater
Panthers should be aware......idk about Fritterererr or if Tepper demands a QB.
You could be right. Lions seem like a real wildcard. They could go chalk and take Pitts/Sewell or they could take a WR or go defense or trade down with someone trying to get ahead of us for the 5th QB.

I'm not one that thinks 15 players are going to be gone by pick 8 like a lot around here but I am pretty confident that 2/3 (Sewell, Pitts, and Slater) will be gone by 8.
Do you think 2/3 will be there at 8? We can always look back after the draft at this thread.
I don't think it's crazy to think the draft plays out something like this...
#1-4 QB's
#5 Chase
#6 Bama WR
That would leave at least 2/3 at #8

It means nothing if the QBs also have arms and have shown deep ball skills. Teddy showed us that he preferred to check down and couldn’t throw a consistently good deep ball.
Yeah I agree with this. This is one of those stats that needs human analysis to draw any conclusions. Herbert threw screens and check downs because Oregon had no NFL talent at WR or TE and one of the greatest screen game LT's you will ever see in Sewell.
Teddy had an above average WR corp but threw check downs because he doesnt trust his arm and being a gun slinger isnt his mentality.

Screen passes made up 23 percent of Justin Herbert's pass attempts his senior season so im not sure how much this stat really means.
-
Sewell's ability to get to the second level and block in space is special. He'd be an incredible fit with CMC.

Trade for Watson sign o line and secondary help cause we sure as hell won’t be able to draft it
Depends if we keep our 2nd and 3rd round picks. This draft is pretty deep at OL. Probably need to sign at least one vet for sure.
-
Trade for Watson. Sign Hunter Henry or Jonnu Smith. Profit.

I really want to see us land at least one of the following players in the 2nd and/or 3rd round...
Walker Little
Alex Leatherwood
Wyatt Davis
Trey Smith
Dillon Radunz
Jalen Mayfield
Should be some very good OL prospects in the 2nd and 3rd this year. 4th/5th might be a good place for a DB.

Kiper's mock draft from a year ago. He got our pick right but that looks more like dumb luck than anything.
1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU
2. Washington Redskins: Chase Young, Edge, Ohio State
3. Detroit Lions: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
4. New York Giants: Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio State
5. Miami Dolphins: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
6. Los Angeles Chargers: Jedrick Wills Jr., OT, Alabama
7. Carolina Panthers: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn
8. Arizona Cardinals: Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa
9. Jacksonville Jaguars: Isaiah Simmons, OLB, Clemson
10. Cleveland Browns: Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville

One year wonder that played with far superior talent around him and has limited physical ability. What could go wrong?
-
FUN FACT: lol. This guy is from Scappoose,OR Same town as QB Derek Anderson
Funny, I didn't know that. He looks like someone from Scappoose though.

Complaining about late round picks seems like an exercise in futility.

IFO's knee must be all kinds of messed up or he would have been taken already by someone else. Im okay with it bc Brandon Hogan should be a decision this team cannot duplicate again.
Im probably the biggest Oregon homer on here and I'm glad we haven't taken Ifo yet. His knee is destroyed. Really sad.
-
Unfortunately, Ifo's knee is shredded. If we take an Oregon cb in this draft I hope it's Troy Hill.

And this very board absolutely killed Hurney for picking Kuechly over Cox...
Myself included...
In fairness, Fletcher Cox is very good. Just not better than Kuechly.

Shaq Thompson's specialty is creating and returning turnovers. In particular ripping the ball out when other players are making a tackle or being in position to scoop and score. Is that not the perfect player to put next to Kuechly?

It wouldn't surprise me if Chip Kelly took him @20. It's time for Lane Johnson to move over to the left side and Peters is on the wrong side of 30 to be running plays every 15-20 seconds. Kelly is much more likely to value Fisher higher than other teams since he knows, him and has experience in the system. If this occurs look for the Eagles to offer up Peters on draft day and the Panthers to make a run at him.
I could totally see something like that happening.

If we lose to the Bucs it'll be because of one reason.
