  1. Couple of quibbles here: DeMeco Ryans is in his 2nd year as 49ers DC. While I wouldn't be thrilled Dan Quinn, I'm not sure I'd say he "wasn't very good" the first time. He was 46-44 with Atlanta, obviously they had the 28-3 Super Bowl meltdown (I might put that more on Kyle Shanahan than Quinn), but he also had the Falcons back in the playoffs the year after and they were a few yards away from going back to the NFC Championship game.
  2. Take whatever you can get for Robbie and move on. He's not going to be on the team one way or another after this season, so might as well get something rather than just cut him for nothing.
  3. It just makes no sense to trade CMC. At least with Robbie, while you're taking a $19m dead money hit this year, it frees up $12m in cap space next year. With CMC, trading him will result in a $26m dead money hit this year and a $18m dead money hit next year while only freeing up $1.2m in cap space next year. Unless someone is willing to blow the organization away with an amazing offer (at least a first round pick minimum), I think Fitt/Tepp will be content to hang on to him and have the new HC, whoever that may be, make the decision on whether or not he wants to deal him at next year's deadline.
  4. I'd add Shane Waldron, OC, Seahawks to the first timers offense list. Comes from the McVay coaching tree and what he's done with Geno and the Seahawks offense this year is super impressive.
  5. Pretty sure Nixon is going to be shown the door shortly along with others like Evan Cooper...if not shown the door, he'll leave once Rhule lands his college gig.
  6. Problem is I'm not sure who can replace him? Sean Ryan? I mean, there's just no one else really there...
  7. Assume Wilkes and Tepper will speak...
  8. Remember what Cam said at the end of last year: Even if for some reason Tepp/Fitt called, I think he'd say thanks, but no thanks.
  9. I definitely think Robbie will be dealt, even if it's just for a conditional 7th. Saves $12m against the cap next season and lets Fitt and the organization give TMJ a proper evaluation.
  10. fug no. Payton is good but we don't need to be sending away more premium capital. Find another HC, preferably someone who can grow with this team. Give me Dorsey, Ben Johnson, or Demeco Ryans. I'm good.
  11. I think best case scenario, depending on how the next few weeks go, is Rhule being let go after the Falcons Thursday night game. That would give Wilkes or whoever else is elevated into the interim role 10 days to take over and prep for the game at Baltimore. Unfortunately, based on how the offense has looked thus far, I can't see the team being any better than 2-8 at best (only potential wins I see on the schedule are at Atlanta and vs Atlanta, and if Rhule is fired after the Thursday night Atlanta game, it's because the Panthers lost that game).
  12. While I don't think Quinn would be a terrible hire and he's been to a Super Bowl, it just feels like he'd be sort of a Ron Rivera redux. I'd prefer to go for some new blood. I'm warming up to the idea of DeMeco Ryans as HC and him bringing along someone from the Shanahan tree to be his OC.
  13. Honestly after 4 games with McAdoo as OC I'd rather Rhule have just made Nixon the permanent OC this season. McAdoo's concepts and philosophy don't mesh whatsoever with the personnel we have on this roster.
  14. Even worse, at halftime when the game script was in our favor, we had 6 runs to 20 passes, and I believe one of those runs was the Baker sneak. In a 10-3 game at half! SMH.
  15. 49ers D is going to eat Baker alive
  16. Echoing a lot of other posts in this thread, I would like any of the below: Ben Johnson, OC, Lions Ken Dorsey, OC, Bills Byron Leftwich, OC, Bucs DeMeco Ryans, DC, 49ers Brian Flores, LBs, Steelers Shane Steichen, OC, Eagles
  17. The one thing I wish Fitt would do is value early round picks better. A 3rd round for CJ Henderson, a future 3rd rounder (which will likely be a top 5-7 pick in the round) for Corral...these are premium picks that shouldn't be wasted on marginal talent. Other than that, I do like being aggressive and trading mid-to-late round picks for proven vets like Gilmore and Shenault.
  18. Eddy had his struggles as a rookie, but he's been rock solid ever since. Since Week 12 of the 2019 season, he's gone 27 for 27 on FGs and 25 of 27 on XPs.
  19. My best guess is the bye week, week 13. Similar reasoning to letting Ron go early - get a head start on coaching search while letting Wilks coach out the string. Looking at the schedule, I think it's quite likely the team will be 2-10 or 3-9 at that point.
  20. I do think the next two games are essentially must wins for Rhule. I don't see how this team recovers if they start 1-4 with 3 home losses and then facing the Rams and Bucs back to back. If Rhule and co drop these next two, I think 1-6 is likely and the nail in the coffin for Rhule.
