I wasn't against it. But I tend to look at the big picture where most want instant gratification.
-
Hell they could have drafted whoever fell to them and tried again this year. So many choices and they chose poorly.
-
Going into the draft their biggest mistake was thinking they were a qb away. Their second biggest mistake was trading up. It went down hill from there. Turning down the Rams picks was a harbinger of things to come.

Panthers plan to revisit signing Stephon Gilmore after draft
Jon Snow replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Me thinks they will have to cut some people to make it happen. -
Still could've taken a qb at 6. To me picking inside the top 10 may indicate that you have a qb problem. Of course there could be other issues like terrible coach or lack of a complete team. But none of that would prevent me from taking a chance on one were it me making the decision.

Panthers Select Jonathan Brooks RB - 46th Pick, Round 2
Jon Snow replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
The running game is necessary in the playoffs. I thinknits important in every game but its almost mandatory to advance in the playoffs. If you cannot run the ball the edge rushers just tee off on your qb. -
You could be right. Tepper is the wildcard here.
-
That's my theory. I would be surprised if they did it any other way. But you never know with Tepper. If he's truly letting Dan run things then who knows.
-
I do not think our expectations matter to David Tepper and the FO. It will come down to whether he meets theirs and when they decide to move on when he doesn't. We are just along for the ride.

Grades are in; how did Panthers do in this years draft
Jon Snow replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think the mistake is thinking there's such a thing as a draft expert. If there was such a person they would be working for a team and not a network or talk show. It's all guess work and is nothing more than a crap shoot. -
Wallace will end up being a great pick for us. The more I find out about him I can see why Dan decided to take a chance on him.

They must really believe in Penix is all I can say.

They definitely have to get better in the draft. My other big concern is whether this coaching staff has what it take to win some games. -

To be fair, not many teams are so bad that they need rookies to start. -
Why Corbett (and Brady Christensen) will make good Centers

I'm not convinced. I'm just accepting it. -

I'm starting to think that myself. -
I wonder if the fear of losing a pick next year over tampering had anything to do with this? Whatever the reason it doesn't signal much confidence in Cousins to play out his contract. Talk about being awkward in the qb room.

Be careful with using comparisons on players. Tremble is and never was no Kittle. As with any individual I judge their talent by what they do and can do. It's tough to live up to comparisons. -

He did say anything most of us haven't already said. -
It seems everyone thought they may get Cousins some help on offense. I don't think qb was what they were expecting. I honestly no nothing about the Falcons and what they need. I had even forgotten they signed Cousins. Shows you how much I pay attention to what is going on.

I'm not so much concerned about ability as I am about availability. Dan is a bigger gambler than I would be in his seat. I'm not sure Canales really knows enough about the situation to be concerned. I sure hope he can come up with a creative offense and is smart enough to play chess on Sundays. I swear everytime I see him he looks like some rich Karen's personal trainer following Dan around just happy to be there. -

The Jags need rw help just like the Panthers and they cut this guy. Unless we have a rash if injuries I would look elsewhere. -

The only difference is that Sanders is nothing like Thimps and Tremble. As a matter of fact he is twice the TE they are. That doesn't mean he will be anything at this level but the skill set is completely different.
