  1. Really thought they'd show some urgency picking up some WRs considering DJ is gone odd
  2. I'm whelmed by this move unless he does something unexpected
  3. I used to post a lot more often here but I got truck driving job in 2020 and then had a lot less time. I used to work only half days and before that unemployed and before that 4 days a week.
  4. His stats def are not impressive and he's going to be 30 going into the 2023 season despite being drafted in 2018. Anyone have a clue on how skilled he might actually be despite the stats. Don't remember personally watching him
  5. 6 pages in 20 min at 9am on a Wednesday all you guys off work or at desk jobs Jesus
  6. What serious reason would there be for picking Young instead of Stroud? If it's even remotely close in comparison you take the bigger more prototypical QB. Is there anything Young does that is far and away much better than what Stroud can do????
  7. Fitterer must have called in sick today
  8. Looks like a boring free agency for the panthers
  9. Maybe WRs are asking for too much Odell is kinda old and injury prone, Theilen will be 33 going into next season.
  10. Probably people going off those tweets that say panthers are still open to trade down and comfortable with multiple qbs There's ALOT of panther fans talking about this in general. And it's not going to stop until draft day Trade down would be stupid imo because there's no way we could recoup what we gave up to move up. And if we got close to doing that we'd probably be SoL in terms of getting a top 2 QB which means that initial trade up to 1 was kinda stupid and pointless (could've traded up to 3 for a lot cheaper for example).
  11. A lot of casual fans especially from other teams didn't even realize/research that we had two 2nd round picks this year Even A lot of panther fans on social media think it's too much of a gamble or bad trade. It's crazy how divided it seems even if most of us on the huddle think it's a good move. I mostly chalk it up to emotional responses to losing DJ. That's where the brunt of the really vocal complaints are coming from. Other than that you really can't bitch about the picks we gave its standard fair for that level of trade up and onlu 1 additional first... we still have the majority of our draft picks for the next 2 drafts we're missing one pick from both thats not the end of the fuging universe It's almost useless trying to argue with them too. They wont stop moaning unless the qb we pick is good and we have a good season.
  12. I'd be upset if they traded down beyond 2. I don't think the Texans feel the need to trade up and would be happy with either QB. Only other team that makes sense is the Colts. Even if they offer a first rounder it's not worth it imo. You go from picking the #1 QB to potentially the #4 QB and you look like an absolute dumb fug if any of those QBs picked ahead of you ball and yours fails. Has any team in NFL history traded up to #1 just to trade out of it? If it has happened it wasn't recently.
  13. God that would be stupid. If you're trading down after giving all that up to trade up I doubt they're going to get a better value. We would have to somehow get a future 1st rounder, two 2nds, and a player of DJs caliber to even break even with what we gave up to get to #1. You'd have to get MORE than that to make trading down even worth it. Who the fug is giving panthers more than what we gave up to get to #1? Even two additional first rounders could be considered breaking even if you consider DJ worth a R1 pick. Just a dumb ass idea.
  14. Some really good answers in this thread
  15. I want CJ Stroud but wouldn't be too upset with Bryce. I'd just be cautiously optimistic because of his size. If the Panthers brain trust decides on Bryce instead of Stroud they clearly see something special with Bryce to take that risk of selecting him over a safer option in Stroud. Especially given what we know about what type of QBs Reich and McCown like. The most obvious signs point to CJ Stroud but I think there's a small chance they might convince themselves to take Young instead.
  16. Not a great comparison. Wasn't Bradford a #1 overall QB? Totally different from a LB selected in the late first
  17. Definitely need a solid free agent pass catcher and a good drafted WR or TE. I really don't know how good Marshall Jr or Shenault are taking #1 and #2 WR snaps. Shi is a bum. WR room is really thin and need to be addressed ASAP. We don't have to totally resolve it in one off season but we need at least 2 reliable options to catch passes. Right now we might have 0.
  18. Never seen a player get rewarded so much for mediocre performance. I think our need for any sort of decent LB play has been trumping Shaqs actual play on the field for a while now.
  19. Size matters at QB unless you're an exception to the rule like Brees, Wilson, or Murray. IMO it's not wise to bank on Bryce being the exception, especially when he can't run like Wilson or Murray can and he's a lot lighter than both. Brees is 2 inches taller and probably a first ballot HoFer. Stroud is just the obvious safe pick and there's nothing wrong with that. He should be the pick unless the Panthers overthink it. If they do there's going to be a shitstorm among the fan base.
  20. Cam tore it up in his rookie year with an aging smitty and bunch of no names at WR. Did also have Greg and Shockey at TE. But from a purely WR perspective that was not a group people expected much out of and cam passed for 4K+
  21. They're going to get someone in free agency they're not going to sit on their hands with two unknowns at WR imo. Even if it's just a sort of solid WR2 ish dude on a reasonable contract. They could really use any consistent chain mover bc I have no idea how reliable TMJ, draft pick, or Shi Smith will be (last season seems to point to him likely being unreliable barring some unexpected rebirth)
