  1. Let's see how this finishes out. I want to see if we get the good Darnold we started out with last year or the one who got pummeled and saw ghosts. You can't make this stuff up....
  2. Before we decide Wilkes shouldn't be considered let's see what our options are. I personally don't want to experiment with a guy with no head coaching experience or someone from college unless they have plenty of NFL experience. So who does that include? With two of our quarterbacks next year essentially being rookies, we need an experienced hand on the wheel. Who is an upgrade?
  3. I thought the plan has been to draft a rookie QB if one looks better than Corral and then keep or bring in a vet who can give stability to the room and mentor the young guys. No need to change the plan. Now who those players are remain to be seen. Lots of games to play. Interested in how Baker is going to handle all the pressure that Baltimore is going to bring. He has to make them pay with quick passing and hot reads.
  4. Half the world is sick. I saw two elementary schools close with hundreds of students sick. Flu, covid., rsv, adenovirus. Take your pick. It isn't that strange and it is getting worse.
  5. I don't respect tank mentality and have little tolerance for it from the same half dozen poster ad nauseum. How many posts did you make saying we were stupid for not making the trade. I was just asking a question I am sure I am not the only one who wondered that. Didn't realize you were going to be triggered. And it is equal opportunity. I have lots of discussions with tankers. You aren't alone.
  6. I wonder how many times you will repeat that between now and the draft.
  7. Looking forward to winning a few more at home so we can see hundreds of posts whining about how we aren't picking top 10 by the tankers again this offseason. NOT....
  8. Luvu has done well. From a 1 year contract for 625,000 to a 2 year deal for 9 million he is getting paid and earning it. Wouldn't be surprised if his next deal isn't for longer and twice the bucks per year.
  9. I got this from the NFLPA who think that turf is a big problem in football. https://nflpa.com/posts/only-natural-grass-can-level-the-nfls-playing-field#:~:text=Specifically%2C players have a 28,on turf compared to grass.
  10. He was awful against Cincy for sure. And if he sucks like that expect us to consider putting in Baker or Darnold. Wilks is interim and not likely to be retained so he has nothing to lose.
  11. Turf is easier to maintain and cheaper over time so owners keep laying it down. There is no debate over which is better for the players. It is about saving money over player safety. And who made you chief groundskeeper.
  12. When we played Chelsea last summer in soccer, Tepper had to bring in a natural grass field for the game and then he dismantled it and went back to turf the week after. Chelsea wouldn't play on a turf field.
  13. I hoped YGM would grow into the role and I hoped Haynes could add 30 lbs of muscle. Maybe combined they would make a good DE but if we stay with Corral and don't go QB in the draft, then I would be happy to get a stud DE.
  14. We could use a good bookend to Burns and we just don't have it.
  15. He is our full time starter. Now how well he is doing his job is another issue.........
  16. When will he be replaced? If we suck and he throws a bunch of picks and we lose. As long as we are winning it doesn't matter how he plays
  17. Pj is doing what he is asked to do. Mahomes has a much better scheme to work with to begin with. Wasn't it Mahomes who said PJs pass was the best one he has seen this year. And since it was 65 yards I think that would suggest he can throw a good deep ball. But how many do we actually throw. PJ can be a good QB with a good system. But he isn't given the opportunities. Thank you for making my post look great compared to your uninformed stupid post.
  18. Not at all. That is other people like you trying to put words in other' mouths to feed your agenda.
  19. I never said Burns was better than Bosa. You really are slow. You never got my point. Just proves I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
  20. Good point. He still tries to go inside too often and doesn't hold his gap responsibility leaving big holes and contributing to the idea he can't play the run. He needs to be more disciplined and not try to sell out to get pressure on every down.
  21. You're missing the point completely. If you have a qb who plays in a WCO with 70% of his passes being essentially less than 5 yards you get a higher completion percentage than someone playing in a more downfield Coryell system with the majority of throws more than 15 yards. So who is playing better using completion percentage as your measure? What about measuring YPC versus YPA - the difference totally changes the answer. You are the one morphing the "better" concept with your extreme comparisons of quarterbacks. I said you can't easily compare players at the same position on a stat like sacks unless they played in a similar scheme with similar opportunities and responsibilities. So Burns and Bosa play in different systems with different schemes and respinsibilities. So determing who is playing better depends on what you measure. That is a far cry from whatever you are trying to morph this into.
  22. One factor. Another may be that if you pressure Mahomes he runs so you try to keep him in the pockets and make him throw underneath, etc.
  23. Not all DEs function similarly. Not just in a 3-4 versus a 4-3 but responsibilities. For example if your primary job is rushing the passer with your hand in the dirt and you come from the same spot you get different results from someone who plays standing up, plays inside or out and has different responsibilities in different sets. Not only rushing the QB but playing in the secondary for example. Teams that blitz linebackers get more sacks than a team that rarely blitzes so should sacks be considered in isolation or in context to your duties. So in general even two guys who play the same position may have different responsibilities. Add other factors such as how much help do you get from teammates so you aren't the focus of the offense but one piece of the puzzle versus the only decent player on the team that teams can game plan for or against. Comparing players in a 1 gap penetrating scheme versus those in a 2 gap read and respond scheme may not be comparable for sacks for example. So no all players at a position are not used the same and therefore aren't universally comparable.
  24. I agree that Walker is very inconsistent. One pass he threads between 2 defenders and other times you want to know who in the heck was he throwing to. Wilks tends to be conservative and wants to limit mistakes most of all. So he is limiting what PJ is allowed to do to keep the mistakes down.
