  1. You obviously missed the point. So let me clarify. Firing the soccer coach and Rhule was caused by hiring the wrong guys to start with. And it was because he trusted the wrong folks to make the decision which is why Hurney and some soccer guys are gone as well. His process was flawed and that is what needs to be fixed. He doesn't know sports like he knows finance and needs to rely on proven guys to get the right coaches or make the right deals. How did you read what I wrote and not have a better understanding of what I posted. It was pretty clear. Tepper is the problem and trying to fix it by firing your guys is like closing the barndoor after the horse has already run away.
  2. There is lots to bitch about with Tepper but replacing Ramirez with Lattansio was a very good move. We have a good defense and aggressive young players that form a good core while we bring in more firepower. Sound familiar.? No the problem with the Ramirez hiring is the same thing with Rhule being hired. Why did you think this would be a good idea in the first place???? There were redflags with both of them and Tepper let other folks talk him into something instead of hiring a consultant or two who has the proven ability to find the right guy. If Tepper hadn't given Rhule so big a contract he could have walked away sooner when they realized their mistake. At least they didnt wait with Ramirez. Tepper has been humbled over several mistakes and surely needs to stop acting like he has good instincts because he doesn't. Let's be serious, who gives a guy total control and then sits back when he hires college coaches with little NFL experience. If Rhule had brought in NFL guys his first year who knows what we could have done. But Tepper has to get it right because even loyal psl owners are selling their tickets because losing 9 out of 10 of your last home games kills morale and makes the tailgate the only good part of the game day experience.
  3. Wilkes fired Snow because he thought Snows scheme was a college defense not a legitimate pro offense. Their shouting match was about use of the safeties and having DEs who couldn't defend the run. Snow did the same thing each week instead of gameplan for each team. Wilkes has lots of DC experience. And by the way Holcomb was Wilkes DC in Arizona so they both have similar philosophies and Holcomb will make the defensive calls
  4. Like always it depends on who is available and who has the best vision for the team. Too early to know what options we will have.
  5. It was between Wilkes and McAdoo. Sounds as if Fitterer and Tepper though Fitterer was the best option and as Tepper said, you try to win out of respect for players and fans. I don't think many defensive players respected Snow so it was an easy firing. I think the defense can get much better. And let's see what he tells McAdoo. My guess is simplify things and put McCaffrey in the slot. Run more overloads, picks and quick hitters. Or maybe that is just what I would be telling him.
  6. Really liked him as a returner. Might give him work on sweeps and pitches getting him in space.
  7. Almost. I think we have sucked up to now and underperformed our potential and with a new head coach and emphasis we may perform closer to our potential. Got it now ???
  8. Then as I said we aren't tanking we are sucking which I hope doesn't happen.
  9. Again the qb has to fit the system or you have to adapt the system to the qb. Right now Corral fits with McAdoo's system. Now if we change OCs and go with a different system then it is hard to say if that is still true.
  10. Nope. I simply said that picking a guy in the first round and tanking to do so isn't a guaranteed recipe for success. And that Corral who some think was a first round talent may be as good as anyone else we can get. Given Fitterers pension to swing for the fences I suspect we may draft a QB but with limited picks I don't know if it is the imperative many folks here think. Which has been my point all along.
  11. Won't argue that. But if supposedly guys like Willis and Corral were first round talents most years but all fell last year, the question is whether he can be as good as any of the guys coming out in this draft or is more like a true third rounder and more likely to bust.
  12. No it just shows that putting all your hopes on a first round prospect isn't guaranteeing anything and if you want to use the Colts or Bengals as evidence that it works, I just point out the Patriots and Seattle as evidence it can be done other ways as well. And let's have the conversation about how many first round QBs bust.
  13. Doesn't mean he won't be right next year.
  14. There are no guarantees so why would we tank for a QB that has a good chance of not even being great let alone win Superbowls??
  15. Agree we might draft another one given Fitterer's approach and drafting a qb is much cheaper than signing a veteran but given how many top 10 qbs bust and we have 2 of them as proof, tanking for a pick doesn't guarantee anything and more times than not doesn't work out long term
  16. Again there is a huge difference between sucking and tanking. And even with Manning and Luck being supposedly the best the Colts win 1 superbowl between them. Meanwhile the Patriots won a bunch of SBs with a 6 rounder again proving you don't need to tank to find your franchise guy.
  17. For Manning two decades ago or Luck who lasted a few years and then got hurt. Between supposedly the 2 greatest qbs they had 1 super Bowl win for the Colts between them. Nope tanking even for a great QB doesn't guarantee superbowls
  18. No it is called a fire zone blitz which is the same scheme that McDermott ran here. It was Snow's scheme we ran. Wilkes and Snow didn't agree.
  19. So you think you are the adult in the room.? From that post I don't see it.....
  20. We didn't tank for Cam we sucked and remember it took unti.year 3 before we had a winning record. And we didn't have a QB already we thought could be a starter. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't draft another QB high with Fitterer swing for the fences but my point is we don't need to purposely suck to find one.
  21. No. Wilkes is a defensive guy and can lead the defense. If he were an offensive coach he could have fired McAdoo but you don't install a new offense in October. And if you aren't then just let McAdoo sink or swim.
  22. No you can't install a new offense in October. You have to roll with what you have unless you have an offensive head coach who takes over. Given Wilkes is defense that isn't going to happen
  23. Go back to when Snow got here. We have run zone almost exclusively for years. What we did with Horn is run man to man with him against a particular player and play zone shell elsewhere.
  24. And how are the Bengals doing this year. Yeah 2-3. He had a great rookie year but Baker took Clevelabd to the playoffs as well. Neither Cleveland or the the Bengals have been consistently good. It might take more than a QB alone to turn a team around. But tanking isn't the way to build a consistent team.
