That pass rush won't help when we're running the ball down their throat, can anyone name their ILB's? I know I can't and I'm an NFL junkie. They'll have to pull the safeties down into the box for run support and you know what happens next...

Danny Trevathan and Brandon Marshall are really good linebackers and seem to have a nose to get to the football. We have to be aware of those two in the middle of that defense. Denver does run a lot of man to man defense too so getting Olsen out there on them one on one and making plays is critical.I believe with this particular game  whoever wins in the trenches and whoever wins the turnover battle is the team that's going to win the game.

  2. I think this will definitely be a good game especially with the premier matchup of Josh Norman vs Odell Beckham. The Panthers have a few injuries going into this game  but I still don't think we take our eyes off the prize and lose the focus we have maintained throughout this season. As long as we keep playing hard physical Carolina football we can definitely pull out this game with a win. I'm excited for this game just keep pounding Panthers!

  3. I'm praying that the Panthers come out tonight and set the tone for the season early. I expect the Panthers to try to get the run game going early with Stewart and company and see what can this newly rebuilt offensive line can do. Tonight's game should be showcased as "The Rise of the #1 Receiver", I expect somebody to step up whether it's Funchess or Corey Brown to take on the role as the lead dog in this group tonight. Kelvin Benjamin isn't coming back this season, so expectations should be extremely high for someone to emerge from this group of receivers to showcase their talents against the defending super bowl champs. I expect Cam to make the right reads and deliver the ball on time and stay out of harms way.

I don't worry as much about the defense as I do with the offense but I am excited to see Shaq Thompson supplement himself into that already stout linebacker corp. I would like to see Kony Ealy build off his performance from last week and last season and get pressure on Brady and company. I'm also really excited to see how good this secondary can really become. I expect Josh Norman to continue to perform well and lock receivers up on the outside and this secondary to be active in the run and pass game tonight. Cheers to our first real test of the season!

  4. Kemba listed as 6'1 Chris Paul listed as 6'0

If you believe Kemba is 6'1 you have a problem. Most heights are exaggerated in the NBA. Kemba isn't close to being 6'1 more like 5'10 or maybe 5'11. Chris Paul on the other hand is a legit 6'0.
  5. Neither was spud Webb or that little guy we had that might have been in space jam. Think it was bouges? (Saracasm)

Has any of them won anything worth mentioning outside of the dunk contest for Spud Webb. History shows that smaller PG struggle to defend at a high level. This is a PG driven league and we will regret paying Kemba 40 million. Smh
  6. I read your comment as a slight against Laettner. Laettner was still a good player, so when you compared Frank's situation to Laettner's, you failed to slam Frank.

Sure, I would rather have Webber than Laettner; I would also take Oak or Towns over Frank, but we weren't in a situation to draft them were we?

All Frank did was go out there and beast every big he played against. Everyone knew they needed to stop him, but they couldn't. Sure Oak and Towns were freshmen, but they are both highly touted prospects, and Frank took care of them.

Let's not forget that he had the foot speed and ability to win his matchup against WCS too...last time I checked, he wasn't a freshman, and he is projected as a premier post defender in the NBA.

Since we drafted Frank, I rewatched both the Kentucky and Duke games, and against quality NBA bigs, with length, Frank won with an arsenal of post moves, outside shooting, and quick cuts to the basket.

He might not be a perennial all star, but he will be able to play in this league. High floor is what I see, and unlike Cody, Frank does not lack confidence and aggression.

I actually think he has a chance to be an all-star player. I think his biggest weakness is on the rebounding and defensive end. If he can improve on this area of his game he has a chance to be a very special player. The only way this happens is if he adds strength. I'm not sure if he will be able to do it this season but in the future we might have a steal if he works hard. At least I'm hoping for him to be.
  7. I remember early in the free agency period some people thought that the Panthers might try to land Cobb until they found out how expensive he will be. I was very impressed with Corey Brown last year and I loved his play. If Corey can stay consistent and get better we will have a very good offense this season because Corey can get open deep with Ginn. Get excited Panthers fans because things are really looking up!

  8. The way it's been explained to me is shaq allows us to not show our hand. He will be a three down backer. He's quick and agile enough to cover nickel roles as well as being a run stopper. Qbs won't be able to gear up on us as much especially spread offenses. And we play quite a few elite spread offenses this year.

    think Kam Chancellor.

If Shaq can come in and provide valuable snaps on defense early this year which I believe he will. That will makes our already elite defense that much better this season. His role will allow us to play a lot more base 4-3 like Seattle, and having a third LB on field will make it that much hard for QB's to identify coverages because Shaq can really cover. QB's have to be weary of Shaq because he is a very explosive playmaker. One big mistake or communication issue could potentially be a huge hit or a pick six for Shaq. I'm very excited just thinking about it.

  9. This is just TOO GOOD of a possibility to happen for us.

The Panthers never get possibilities like this one and it might be the reason we won't land him. I really hope I'm wrong, but we always seem like the team that's get screwed over most in the league compared the other teams. If we could add him to our offensive line this would be big, and he could end up being the starter over Oher and Martin.
  10. If Gettleman truly believes in his BPA philosophy which I know for a fact he does. There is no way he passes on Shane Ray at 25. I really just can't see it. Pass Rusher is definitely a need with Greg Hardy gone and CJ starting to age a little with a big contract. Pairing Shane Ray with Kony Ealy his former Missouri teammate is a script for Hollywood.
